The story shows an extreme and unrealistic story. But the message is quite clear and true.
Old age people not only need a good home and food. They need company of people especially their children and like-minded relatives. In addition, they need some money which they could use on their small needs. These could be enjoying with their friends, purchasing books, magazines; and spending some money as they want; etc.
The elders also must keep their savings with them, and should not giving everything to their children while they are alive.
