The lead singer is A R Rahman. He's done his Master's in Music & Musicology from Oxford. 2 Oscars, several international awards. He's an engineer so he does the composing & mixing himself.
This is live music... This AR Rahman concert performance just gives goosebumps .. Unbelievably great experience ❤️

The guy's a legendary composer, all his songs hit like absolutely DIVINE!
I still like the original version which came 28 years back when the last stanza was sung all i can recall is Prabhu dancing near the Triumphant Labour Statue early morning and opp to Senate house. It was a and is a goose bump moment back then and now.
I'm so happy that Justin finally reacted to a proper Tamil song . Usually the songs he reacted to are full of energy and drums beats . This one though the lyrics are funny 😅 ( for those who speak Tamil know what I mean ..) , the song is really good.

The original tamil version was a phenomenal master piece, i remember dancing on the screens of kamala theater in chennai, golden era of tamil music, both ARR and Ilayaraja were huge.

@@yougood809 exactly. He has a great range, he easily sang lamhe in F#2 and E#2(during the humming). Then he also sings D#5 in agar tum saath ho and C#5 in channa mereya. Also High notes main vi awaaz patli nahi hoti.

cool that you mentioned the melodic responses! to my knowledge a lot of traditional indian music is based on call and response where a lead singer will sing a line and the rest of the group/audience will sing it back. even in modern indian music you will see verses often have each line repeated twice
