I’ve never spoken or sang in Portuguese in my life but I thought it would be easy since I speak Spanish. Boy was I wrong! This was actually one of my harder covers, not just because of the challenging melody, but because of the nuanced pronunciation of Portuguese. I tried my best to mimic the Brazilian version so I hope all my Brazilian fans enjoy it! Obrigada! ❤️

@@THE-rk3hx Common idiosyncrasies from Portuguese being translated to English. Our verbs have quite different forms for different times of time conjugation. In this case "hope that"+verb have a different conjugation than simple future. And when referencing something that was recorded we tend to use the past tense to address is, even if the recording still exists. 😉
BTW, "poema" rhyming with the English pronunciation of Ipanema instead of the Portuguese one is a fun example in this video of an idiosyncrasy of Portuguese being spoken by English speakers. Much better, in my opinion, than the common mistake of using the Spanish J sound, totally different from the Portuguese one.
Trina Q, you'll find several songs on Robin's channel sung in Spanish. I've been told by native Spanish speakers, that her Spanish is excellent.

This is so nice! Your Portuguese in this version sounds a lot like Portuguese from Portugal, probably due to the influence of your Spanish - that's yet another nuance to pick up on! haha
