I'm now a fan of Chase Elliott as I have been since your final cup season but No-one could live up to your legacy. I love you Tony. Keep enjoying your life while you have it. I think he was the light of the series, and future races - even if my guy wins - are going to be that much duller without him. It's not just that he was a constant thorn in the side of the bigwigs (although that was always fun to watch), but that he brought such passion to each and every race. HE is what motor racing should be about. HE proves that it is MUCH more than 'cars making left turns for 3 hours.' HE is what made it exciting for people who didn't have a chance to see the legends like Petty, Earnhardt, DW, Turner and the rest. Smoke, my hat's off to you; you made nascar NASCAR.
I have read the commits that Tony is a killer. And can't see. Well if you watched the clip on the race when he hit the kid you'd see you couldn't see him we did because of the way the camera was. But it was very dark in that turn they was no lights. Tony went to court on this he was found not quilty of doing anything wrong. The boys family died him also he paid them money. Tony went through hell at that time. I can't call him a killer it was an acentdent that the kid caused his self. Tony has to live with that everyday of his life. It wouldn't have happened if the kid hadn't ran on to the track where it was dark. Tony didn't see him and Tony sure didn't want to kill anyone either. Yes Tony has a temper who don't have one. At least we knew when he was done wrong someone was going to hear about it. Most of the time he ended up in the Nascar trailer to talk about it. Yes he did get help with his temper he was more mellow then before. He still get mad he still goes to the Nascar trailer because that's who he is. At least we know he is a live and not dead yet. So let give him that he was cleared from all wrong doing so he's not a murderer at all. He will have to answer to God one day for this so if he did wrong then God knows about it and we will too. So may the boy RIP and may Tony live his life out in peace from people calling him names.
