    My next (e)MTB to replace my manual MTB & gravel bikes will be this bike. Period.
    The S-Works Levo SL has finally convinced me to switch for a couple of reasons; (1.) I’ve just turned 60yo & love to ride but find climbs less fun, (2.) the bike is consistently referred to as pedal-assist eMTB rather than full fat & that’s what I’d like, (3.) it rides like a manual MTB that I want to continue feeling, & lastly (4.) I had a heart scare that means I need to monitor heart rate so knowing that the Specialized software can interface with heart rate monitor to dial in more power to avoid red-line is absolutely incredible……Specialized has absolutely hit the bullseye for me/my riding style & I’m the guy who said eMTB’s were 10-years into my future. No longer!
    My only change will to be to make it 29” front/rear.

    14k? Fuck off specialized. That is LITERALLY more than i paid for my car. I paid 13k for my Subaru forester a couple years ago. I guess it’s somewhat new and advancing tech so it’s gonna be expensive regardless but it’s just so disheartening to see such high prices. Whatever tho, I love bikes. I love e-bikes. If it makes you happy and you can afford it, by all means, go for it

    I bought the comp. Only ridden once but I dig it. I did 2 laps on E power which was plenty for me, and one lap no battery. Climbed almost as good as a regular SJ Evo even without battery which was impressive. Look for a Bronson S on PB people…

    • @mikes.8305
      @mikes.8305 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jonibz1456 well maybe heckler SL then? The Bronson feels deeper like it can take bigger drops and hits but the Levo SL feels super snappy and it’s plenty capable in its own right. The short chain stays may not be for everyone though. I would demo.

    I test rode this bike, short ride. Much quieter than my Gen 1 SL, and noticeably more power. And interesting to learn that was likely only 80% of max. Glad to see the Code brakes and Fox 36 fork.

    I may transition to e- mtb with this new Levo SL. I liked to hear that the new Levo SL was designed for greater capability descending while keeping the feel of a non assist mtb. Definitely don't have a desire for a full power e-mtb because I ride a dirt bike. Fortunately, I live in an area where trails are open to mtb, dirt bike and e-mtb. Always enjoy riding my mtb on the single track I ride with my dirt bike. It would be nice to save energy, on the climbs, while keeping the feel of my current mtb.

    The difference between a 320Wh and a 500Wh battery is around 1.5kg. For a combined bike + rider weight of 100kg that is 1.5%! Let that sink in when these reviewers tell you that a smaller battery plays a significant role in the bikes range. A 500Wh battery should have been a no brainer for such a bike. Obviously just a sales move, so they have what to update for the Gen3 😅

    • @charleswhite7612
      @charleswhite7612 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree and have been saying that since the “lightweight” category dropped. Bigger battery please! On my early gen Bosch emtb’s, it’s only an 8oz difference between 400 & 500whr power pack batteries. Let that sink in.😉

    Support or assistance is expressed as a percentage (20%, 50%, etc). My question is: percentage of what? Of the total motor power, limited by the peak power? Or of the rider power applied to pedals? Appreciate any light on this.

    • @border304
      @border304 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mission Control app lets you set pedal assist and peak power. So how pedal power you need to put in, and how much of the motor power you see at that point.
      On my full fat Levo in Turbo 100/100 you barely need to turn the crank to get taken up the hill.
      You can also set the acceleration profile - how quick the motor kicks when you turn the pedals. Instant is great for trying to get up a steep hill if you lose momentum for whatever reason. But technical stuff on a cliff side would feel dodgy with that instant kick in the motor.

  • @pauljcat1
    @pauljcat1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don’t look at 14k to own the 2023 Levo Sl, it’s more like 8k (US Non SWorks),even less used……
    Or spend around 5k on most other new acoustic Mt. bikes coming out. A Specialized Levo SL is about 3k more than what you will be looking at in an acoustic bike ( if that ) . This is the reality.
    New Ibis Ripley or Santa Cruz Tallboy price ??? , Levo SL 1.1 sold me as riding just on E makes it the fastest short travel 29er with so many other capabilities. Feels very natural also.
    If they could just offer the motors to be purchased or backward compatible on these , they would definetly be more marketable IMO. This is my only complaint.
    I have the Levo SL 1.1 and hope to own at for at least 10 years. Looking to buy a back-up motor .
