    Great update on the cylinder block. It's given me the confidence to have a go at one of these engines myself.
    Look forward to future updates and changing the stepper motor on the lathe. Cheers. M

    I laughed out loud because I have 'never' in my life hidden the marks, meaning I don't admit that I do it about half the time. I love that you leave in the mistakes because it helps us learn from them. Thanks for the great videos Ade.

    Hi Ade, As I'm sure you know the best way to drill into an angled face is to mill a flat with a cutter as close to the drill dia as possible. I only mention it in case any of your subscribers tries to drill a hole at a more acute angle, and the drill may wander off. Obviously case in point the center drill was fine. Loving the videos, keep em comming. ( PS I also prefer Fosters). lol. Mal

    Incredible job in nailing the location of those intake port holes. This project is proceeding incredibly well.
    Look forward to the next in the series.

      Hi Ian. to be honest the current set up is working fine but the noise on the videos is the force behind the improvement . having done the power feeds on the mill this way I am sure this is the better way to do it . Cheers Ade.

    The tiny chamfer on the cylinder flange had me tense up, but you nailed it as usual. Nicely done, Ade.

      Hi Russell. the camera angle close up can make the gap look smaller than it is . but it was close on this occasion. Cheers Ade.

    Well done Ade, its looking great. Im learning a lot from your videos. im hoping to remember everything for when i get my machine workshop set up. you should be on track for that 10,000 subs in no time. To be honest though You deserve way more than that.

    “I hid my marks” 😂 I trusted your experience so much that I was watching wondering in awe how you were going to work with that without even so much as thinking about a possible error you made. Until you said so 😱🤔🤣 In a relaxing way it is so comforting to see you make these errors. It gives me that “I am not stupid, just human” feeling.

      I do try to film these shots directly as I am doing it and that can lead to little lapses in concentration sometimes . I leave some in for the fun value . Cheers Ade.

    Ade, whether they're vice jaws or vise jaws, you just can't see through them! But I do love the idea of marking the depth on the outside of the piece as a check on the depth. Another good , practical idea I would have missed. Anyway, cheers from the USA!

    The general rule with pneumatic quick connects is, whichever one you have, its not that one... or the other kind... its the third kind that you didn't know existed until now.

    Hi Ade, this project is coming along great, really like your presenting style.
    Watch out tho, the extension lead at back of milling machine could get full of swarf if you dont cover it, im sure this could be dangerous but know nowt about that sort of thing. Dont want my fave presenter having an accident!
    I love the old file card! Mention a file card these days and im sure people would thing you are on about computers!

    • @ade63dug

      The extension is new and I have not used it yet . It will be going up on the wall behind the DRO . just have not got round to it yet . Cheers Ade.

      Now you are talking about beer, many popular by advertising only UK lagers are just chemicals. German purity laws always guarantee excellent beers.

    The missing dimension for the 8ba holes is given as 15 degrees around the radius of the cylinder

  • @gvet47
    @gvet47 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think someone is illegally selling copies of the plans for this engine and like you say those two cladding holes have arrows but no info. That cylinder needs a lot of machine work so still questioning if I buy the kit the more I watch you. So wish I had a rotary table setup for my little mill. You do great work!

  • @keithmonarch447

    Hello Ades, heck I'm not purchasing the Lathe I want. Because the supplier's shipment got delayed from the Canal lane, got blocked from a container ship, and got stuck. I'm still watching 👀 you. I'm sure you heard about that 😏.

    Hi Ade. Loved the visual setup of the angle for drilling the steam ports. Also loved the mark you put on the port side, you know your vulnerability to such errors. So recognisable.
    What wondered me is that you milled the initial recess dead straight. I would have expected it to be milled under that same angle as the steam passage to the steam port. What is the reasoning behind it?

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really sure as I am no expert on steam engines . Just following the drawings on a best guess ethos . Cheers Ade.

    I'm enjoying these videos, but can't you give the lager a chance and pour it into a decent nonic pint glass first? (Not one of those weird tulip-shape things or whatever they are.) OK, so it's stretching it with Fosters and the like, but they need all the help they can get.

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol. I will be introducing some better quality brands for review . Maybe I should start a sister channel called Ades brews . not happening really . Cheers Ade.

      No Teku, Shaker or Nonic and certainly not lager. Tulip only and real ale thank you very much.

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nigel . I totally agree. The lead is new and, as yet, unused. I will be fitting it up on the wall away from swarf and oil and will remove the cardboard bit before use . Cheers Ade.

    9:50 your drill is bent :(

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the image stabilisation on the camera making it appear that way . The drill is brand new and never used and appeared fine to the naked eye . Cheers Ade.

      @@ade63dug I did wonder as the chuck also seemed to move a bit, and next time you were drilling all was smooth.

    Nice video but please stop wingeing about the Stuart drawings, if they put everything on the drawings you would have nothing to think about. Then you might as well buy a set of machined castings or even a finished model. It’s working out those fiddly bits that keeps us old duffer’s grey matter in working order.

  • @jonsworkshop

    Nice one Ade, looking good. Top job on the port holes, just how I would have attacked it, if it looks right, it is right (you don't find that out with a sine bar until its too late). Nicking my vise gag....... What are you like? Cheers, Jon
