I wish there was a season mode where the CPU essentially just generates shows, storylines, rivalries and the user essentially just has the option to sim....
This was how universe was intended to work. WWE '12 is the first game to have Universe Mode as its own seperate game mode and it pretty much works like you describe. If you still have a PS3/Xbox 360 I highly recommend checking it out
Am I missing something isn’t stock universe mode exactly this? The AI CPU books a card and rivalries and you can just simulate whatever they cook up unless you want to edit anything?
Universe mode SHOULD be amazing . It should be integrated with my gm and my faction . You should be able to set EVERY rule and there should be ways to create, upload , and download storylines that integrate into your universe mode .
*Yeah I agree about Superstar version of Universe. It does get boring after awhile. But, it's good to start one and come back to, you know, every so often.*
So there is no ending or new story to the universe mode(superstar)? It gets boring coz i keep on wrestling the same rival for 3 to 4 times. And im lazy to customize my universe mode.. lol
How I am currently booking my WWE 2K24 Universe Mode at the moment... Monday: Raw Tuesday: NXT Wednesday: WWE Live: Raw Thursday: NXT Level Up Friday: Smackdown Saturday: WWE Live: Smackdown Sunday: PLE maybe one or two a month depends if I'm doing an NXT PLE too. That way I can fit a lot of the wrestlers around. Really enjoying WWE2K24 at the moment 👍
They pretty much didn’t touch this mode at all besides a few new cutscenes, the rivalries are useless because you know they are facing each other every week till the PLE. Good video though
@@Sirrazorbladezthat’s exactly what Im saying…IM just glad that it works. They can’t add anything new until next year when they get rid of last gen. Any new additions will cause bugs and crashes because last gen consoles can’t handle it and it’s tied to current gen.
Something that needs to be added bad and I mean bad is a randomize draft button for universe mode. Tbh the fact you couldn’t do it like that turned me away from it a bit because like you said it can be a bit much. That’s an easy fix as well
In the end, the best advice on how to make the best Universe mode comes down to one simple phrase: Take all the time you feel like you need to set things up in a way that will make things satisfying for you in this mode. For me personally, I usually don't really " play " the game per se at all for nearly 2 months when it releases, as it's the time it usually take me to set everything up for me to be able to enjoy the game. 😅 Here's my exact routine every year. - Launch the game. - Go to Option, turn off every menu music ( as I like my menus to be silent, calm, peaceful, it's a much needed zen moment for me between two matches, having the crowd's roar in the ears during the match ) . Set every options I like them to be, so I don't have to come back in the Options of this game ever again. - Go straight for Showcase mode. I have zero interest for it ( always skip the videos, and match cinematics during the matches ) , only doing it to unlock everything locked in that mode. Then, do the same for MyRise ( again, skip everything, play on easy, rushing through things, not interested in playing as a CAW I wanna be able to play as a real superstar like in games like HCTP and SvR 07 but no interest in playing as a CAW ) . The idea being to unlock absolutely everything, so that I have everything the game has to offer ( that way, I'll be able to set up all these superstars in Universe, use those arenas if I want to, ect ) . I see rushing through Showcase and MyRise as the first necessary step to set up Universe mode, nothing more. Both MyRise combined usually take me 1 to 2 weeks alone. - Once everything is finally unlocked, I go in Create A Match, to make all the matches I wanna have accessible to me ( like, for example, a 2 vs 2 Elimination Table Match, a 6 and an 8 man Elimination Match with eliminations only by Pinfall and Submission, a Fatal 4 Way Tag Team Elimination Match with eliminations only by Pinfall and Submission. Yes, mainly creating Elimination matches, as that has always been my favorite stipulation in multi men match types. I wish we could create an Elimination Armageddon HIAC match, but sadly that has never been possible... Not with 2K at least. ) . - Then, I go to Create A Title, just to make copies of the real belts that I want to use in Universe ( which are the belts WWE was using in 2003 ) . The reason why I do that, is because I wanna use those belts, but, without having the history of past champions attached to them, so that I can create my own history of those titles ( that way, I can have an history of those titles, never held by the guys I don't like or feel like they should've never won those titles ) . I then do the same for MITB. Make one for men and one for women, for the same reason. - Next step, going to Create An Arena, creating the arenas I'm gonna need for my Universe mode. Which usually consists of arenas used between 2002 to 2005. I don't want no Payback, Fastlane, Extreme Rules, Hell In A Cell, ect in my Universe. Give me back No Way Out, Judgement Day, Bad Blood, Night Of Champions, Great American Bash, Unforgiven, No Mercy, Armageddon. Also make alternative arenas for the PPVs I'll keep ( the big 4 ) , those being original creations, as I like them to look and feel very special. Then use Create A Show to go with all these arenas. - Now that I have everything I need ( everything is unlocked. Titles, matches, arenas/shows are all ready ) , time to go into Universe mode ( exclusively use Classic ) . The work is far from being over though. The first thing to do, as you did, going into Options to set things how I want them ( which is basically turning everything Off for me, I like to have full control of everything, don't want the game to change anything on it's own ) . - I start with deleting NXT, Smackdown, and every PPV ( I would delete Raw also if I could, but we can't, need to keep at least one show, so, it is what it is ) . I add Smackdown on Thursday and add a PPV on the last Sunday of every month ( SvR 2007 GM Mode style ) using import a show for all of them ( using all my created arenas ) set up the match numbers ( 9 for SD and 14 for PPVs ) , and match table. Ignore the SD champions for now, I just put back the default ones as placeholders ( World, midcard, tag, women's solo, and that's it, don't place a MITB cause I don't want it to be locked into one show exclusively ) and remove the women's tag titles from Raw ( not using those useless titles ) . Also, not forgetting to go remove all the NXT titles and the women's tag titles from their holders since I won't be using any of those titles. What I then do for Raw since it can't be deleted ( now that SD has been placed back, it could, but then it would skip this first Raw entirely since the show wouldn't exist anymore, and go to SD, and I don't want that ) , is import the show so it has my arena and graphics and all, then edit the matches number ( 9 ) , match table, and keep the default champs as placeholders, just removing the MITB and women's tag champs. Gives the same result in the end as deleting it and recreating it from scratch, so that's good. - Then comes the most teddious/boring step who takes forever, editing the rosters. It starts with editing the tag teams ( which usually consists in deleting about 75% of the teams ) , and creating the ones I want ( consisting in recreating tag teams who existed in the past, like teaming up Reigns and Rollins to form the Shield, for example. As well as creating a few original ones ) , setting up their names, entrances, victory motions. And that's only the first step, which was the easiest and fastest part, now is time for the absolute worst part, the one that never ends. Going into Superstars, and editing them all, one by one. Modifying the Payback to add Move Thief to everyone ( it used to be a gameplay possibility in older games, it shouldn't be a Payback but a simple gameplay feature accessible to everyone, in my opinion ) , change their crowd reaction and crowd balance how I want them, decide which show I assign them to, turn On minor shows for everyone because yes I'm not using one but it's in case I feel like adding a Heat or something for the last Saturday before a PPV, and then remove every allies and enemies ( and managers ) so I can start with a blank page. I simply put the tag team members as allies and managers for each others so far, but that's it, deleting everyone else. Doing that for every single character alone takes forever ( days ) especially if had downloaded some CAWs on the CC at some point that we want for our Universe ( which I always do ) as it adds even more characters to edit. - Calendar is ready, superstars and tag teams are ready, only one step left, champions. I spoke about using created copies of the 2003 belts ( to have a blank history for them, the idea being getting rid of the names I don't want there ) , but haven't adressed it yet. Well, that's where my first month of booking comes into play. I print a 64 team tournament bracket on both sides of A4 papers, giving me a total of 8 64 teams tournament brackets. Page 1 is for the world title of each show ( face A = Raw, face B = Smackdown ) , Page 2 is for the midcard title of each show, Page 3 for tag titles of each show, and page 4 for women's title of each show. I then write down 64 names for the world and midcard titles, and, as many as I can for the tag and women's ( obviously not 64 of them available, it's usually 8 teams, and around 25 women for each show ) , I have around 125 superstars per show ( using every currently active wrestlers in the real WWE from the 3 shows, so the NXT roster is spread between both main rosters, as well as all the released ones who can still be active, like Cameron Grimes for example, and most legends too, plus a handful of CAWs. ) . The first month of weekly shows, are all about the tournament matches ( it's a lot of matches to be done, actually have to use minor shows to have more matches per week to be able to do every matches ) , with the finals being held on the first PPV ( so, last Sunday of the month ) to crown the champions. I can then go to edit shows, and switch the default placeholders, for the customized titles. Can't put the titles from the start, 'cause we must pick a champion when placing a belt who don't have an owner, and I don't wanna mess up the title's history from the start by doing that, that's why the champs needs to be crowned first, and only then place those belts to the show. Of course, must not forget to remove the default title holders from their belts afterwards. And boom, the Universe mode is finally set up for the year, ready to be played and enjoyed. At that time, we're nearly 2 months after release. 😅 I also edit every edit matches on the card, one by one each week, so that the show is exactly as I want it to be each week, same for PPVs. Very long, very tedious, but it makes things so good. There's nothing like having the exact Universe mode we want to have. Makes everything so much more enjoyable.
thats a smart idea! i could make a separate show for all the legends aka attitude era stars cause tbh having them on the current roster, they would kick there asses
*In 2K23, I had two shows in my Universe mode. One was Raw, which was just the men, and a custom show which was all women. The women had their own championship, tag team, and lower card belts..also their own "PLE". It was very interesting. I may do it again this year.*
To me if you take the best parts of myGm, and the best parts of universe mode (number of superstars on roster) and put that together you will have the perfect mode.
This is what I’ve said they should’ve done before brining in GM mode cause it’s clear now with my faction and then GM Mode universe mode just gets the short end of the stick. It should be further ahead of the two

The tag team break up/formation toggle, with that ON does that mean the CPU does this on its own, or does it simply mean that you have the ability to do it on your own? I want to be able to do it, but I dont want the CPU breaking up my tag teams on a whim.
The first thing i will do is remove NXT and replace it with ECW.. there was something about it that i allways loved since smackdown vs raw 2007 to 2009 on the PSP..
I always found that I got bored of this mode because it's just endless rivalry matches duplicating with no variety. I would love it if 2k brought back Mystery Opponent matches (and create a story), and with main eventers, booked them less frequently as for me, the realism is taken away when Roman Reigns and Lesnar are facing Cody and Drew every week in the main events of Raw and Smackdown.
Its almost laugh out loud funny how little they do for this mode for the past 10 years with no excuse... They got to the menu and said thats as far as we go to improve this mode thats just copied and pasted the last 10 years or so.. Terrible and pathetic developers

0:50- So in the “superstar mode” do you only have control of your wrestler that you picked and nothing else? Or is it more then that? And can you pick more than 1 characters in that mode?!? And 1 more question here, in the classic mode, if there is a match that you want a wrestler to win in a certain way, can I choose to play as them for that 1 match and then until there’s another match like that I don’t have to keep playing for them?!?

10:57- Ok, so I also heard that if one or all of the brands have more than 40 wrestlers in it then you “need” a minor show!?! But before I started setting up everything and moving/adding wrestlers to shows at least RAW and Smackdown were both over 40 and I didn’t see any “minor shows listed!?? So do you not really need that or dose it expect you to set that up on your own?!? Or is what I heard just BS???
They need to be in the same brand and not assigned to any division, if it's a 3 or 4 faction, the first 2 members can be in the tag division, while the others can be in the singles ones.
My line up is Raw NXT AEW dynamite NLW ( my brand with a created roster, titles, etc) Smackdown Lucha underground (minor show where I have fun with all my favorite wrestlers dream matches.
My problem is I have community created characters that I’ve downloaded and put into my universe but they barely ever show up in the shows, what’s up with that ? It’s always the same character popping up and there usually the ones that are in the game when you buy them, don’t remember it being like this before .
Make sure you select the division they will compete in. If you just add them to the brand show they will be in the “other” division and have a much smaller chance of being booked
I just edit the match and keep the outcomes such as title rankings. You have to make sure to add the outcomes because it will erase them or you can free mode and have all the options available.
I have found stipulation or even title matches randomly on regular shows I mainly use the matches they give me as ideas for an eventual card Sliders also help for what kind of gameplay you want if you watch the universe like I do
universe mode is broken, i have my gameplay settings locked on for ramp camera, held button input, and blood, but every match the settings are off, think they will fix it ?
Sorry about all the questions but since this is my first time doing this mode, I’m trying to make sure it goes good and I don’t have to re start everything!?! Because if I have to, I’ll never do it again!!! I don’t mind having to put a little or a lot of extra work in! But if the payout is zero then the chances of me doing it again is nonexistent!!!
It started out well for me, but now for some reason when I set up a match doesn’t matter the brand, every single superstar becomes available whereas before it was only the ones on that brand. Has a new update changed anything? As this is all very confusing
While it takes a bit of time, I recommend removing ALL enemies and even fringe allies. Universe tends to open up if the Allies/Enemies is bare. Of course if you want to keep, The OC for example, keep them. That sort of edit has kept me invested in Universe and pushes me to get creative. Also, don't just have one save. Open up another as an "Indy" save. Good video, great suggestions to help along with playing this section of the game.
I'm a bit eager and I don't think I'll wait to get the game so I'll ask this. Can you still have different locations for the shows? For example, if I want NXT to only happen in NYC, is that still possible or not anymore?
You can't do custom titles double title matches or in a glitch they will let you do double title matches but not for long I say pass the second month they stopped they won't let you do no more title matches and on top of that your two custom titles that you make one of them will show up and the other one will be glitched out I just don't know how to get it to stop with the I won't let you do the double title anymore
How normal is it that Cody and Seth in the base game are 93 and when starting universe mode they are 95 without even having had a fight? Is it normal for these ratings to constantly change for all fighters?
Haven’t played much Universe the past couple of years is it still set up to where editing the matches messes up your rivalries/ chances of getting cutscenes?

20:16- What do you mean “you can slot them for both”?!? Both what? You mean 2 different championships?!? If so, how??? Because every time I’ve tried it takes them out of the first one any time I try to put them in a new one!?! And this might be answered if the first question I asked gets answered…… but why is it that I have 30+ Women’s superstars on my roster but only 4 of them are available for tag belts?!? And I have a lot of stars in that last slot that I can’t do anything with!?! Why is that?!?
For universe mode I enjoy trying to collect as many superstars in the my faction mode and then try and re create the cards in the universe mode and basically just have a sandbox with all my collected cards and if I ever actually wanna play the game I just play faction but I mainly use this game to watch matches
So, I actually have a huge storyline underway in my universe mode which will ultimately end in my own made-up character, based on me, taking the Head of the Table and Tribal Chief positions from Reigns. But its way more complicated than it seems... I'm Scottish but also half-Samoan so... My career starts out on NXT where I meet fellow Scots - Gallus. I join forces with them, challenge for the NXT tag championships twice before winning them at Halloween havoc. I then push my character for the NXT title, win and hold it for 3 months, destroying anyone who dares challenge me with Gallus at my back the whole way. HHH makes the call and asks me to join RAW, leaving Gallus behind to keep the order at NXT but I must forfeit my NXT title and cannot challenge for a solo title for a year. I ultimately join RAW and almost immediately form an alliance with Drew Mcintyre. Together, we Highland Warriors take down the Viking Warriors to win the RAW tag championship. Just when things seem to be ending for my character's story, for the time being at least, LWO jump in and ruin a rematch between us and Viking Warriors, stealing the tag belts in the process and putting all parties in hospital and out of action for a few weeks. Meanwhile, since Roman lost his title to Cody, Solo has taken charge of the Bloodline, kicked out Roman and recruited Tama Tunga and Jacob Fatu to form a new Bloodline. Solo challenges Cody for his title and, with the help of his family, runs over Cody and wins the belt. This prompts Rock to return and thank Solo for winning his belt and demands he hands it over. Everyone thinks Rock is back to stand up for Roman but they couldn't be more wrong... Solo hands him the belt and calls him "my Tribal Chief". Rock has been calling the shots from Hollywood all along!! Roman returns and begins recruiting members for his own Bloodline pack. Jey refuses to join until Solo confronts him and tells him he MUST pick a side before jumping him with Rock. Roman comes to Jey's rescue and together they unite with Jimmy and RIKISHI!!!! This family feud goes all the way to Survivor Series where two wargames are held: The Bloodline Civil War and the Warriors (Scots and Vikings) vs LWO. LWO take the win and announce nWo are coming back to 'purge' the WWE of "non-Latino/non-American scum". This is where my character announces he is in fact a family member of the Bloodline and asks Rock and Roman to put aside their egos to help fight back against the LWO/nWo. Rock and Roman decide, if they can save the WWE from another nWo invasion, Wrestlmania will be the decider for the People's Championship, Undisputed Championship and, ultimately, the head of the family. Little do they realise, during the huge multiple months-long battle vs the LWO, my character will move to a more central leadership role, calling shots from first the Warriors side, and then taking a lead for Bloodline and Warriors as a whole. By the time the WWE is 'saved' from the nWo, my character has assumed almost full power of the family, as well as also won back the tag Championship with Mcintyre. At which point, Rock declares it is only right that he and Roman include me in their Wrestlemania bout and demand HHH let's me have a shot at the title and a chance at being 'Head Chief' in a triple-threat Hell in a Cell match... This whole storyline also ends with Gallus and Drew Mcintyre being pushed into Raw to form their own stable and cross-brand alliance with the Vikings (Smackdown) and Bloodline. Each stable will sometimes have guests from their alliances show up on opposite shows as managers etc. With me as their overall Head Chief.
Btw, nWo turn out to be headed by John Cena with Rey Mysterio being the leader of LWO. Rock and Roman ultimately go back to being a team and go for John Cena and Rey Mysterio to end the nWo/LWO completely who are left barely standing after the huge all-out war and make a short comeback after a few months hiatus.
For 2K23I created collision. Dynamite arenas and downloaded at least 90 wrestlers for AEW. I even downloaded rampage, but I think. 5 shows a week was enough.
I have edited some of the superstars ratings manually and it hasn’t translated into universe mode. It’s just the original ratings. How do I change this
So is this mode good if you don’t want to use one character mainly? Or can I just use my guy and the story line develops naturally? Haven’t played in over 10 years so bare with me 😂😂
1:46- Can’t you just set up their next match as a Submission Match and that would end their rivalry? Or does that not happen in this mode?!? (Remind you, I got a lot of my information from 2 different channels that didn’t actually give explanations or reason behind everything they told the viewer to do!?! I don’t know why, maybe because they were just making up stuff because they didn’t even know)
Sorry, but this is kinda a side question off of the original one that doesn’t really matter. I could find out once I start this up…… but every time they have a match, doesn’t their rivalry go up?!? And if so, wouldn’t it have to be ended after 4 or 5?!? Like, it can’t go higher than 5. So unless their just permanent rivals then it should at some point end!?! If it doesn’t then I’ll definitely will want to shut it off!?!
I e been trying to figure Universe mode out because I’ll start it and it pairs random people from different teams together. And it’s mad annoying cause I wanna do weekly episodes for my channel, like they would pair Otis with Julius creed and team him against 2 randomly paired wrestlers. How would I go about fixing that issue
I think that a superstar cannot be in the contenter list for more than one title. I think that when you add him in a title, he goes out from the other, so each wrestler can compete for one championship :/
Also if you choose to disband a tag teams make sure to go into the superstars and change the allies and change the managers for said superstars. Or you'll still have them walk out together and be booked together. I can't watch anymore as your style of play is too based for me. Too simplistic.
Anyone else having issues with universe mode constantly swapping managers for people facing each other or duplicating them to an opponent who doesn't have one? Same with certain matches like gauntlet for example, adding the same superstar to the match twice 😅
Change the name back to General manager mode , It should be Online drafts general managers as the commissioner and admins until universe mode , im cool
12:01- And what ever happened to the King of the Ring PPV??? In real life and the game?!? That was the only show I ever went to live. And when I got back into wrestling I was very disappointed when I found out they don’t have it anymore!?! And I still haven’t found a single reason why almost 2 years later!?!
0:54- So the first time I was just listening to this while I was working! But at that 20 minute mark where I left that first comment/questions that caught my attention because not knowing those answers to them made it impossible to finish my set up my UMode!?! And the original videos I watched that “explained everything I needed to know” (yeah right) didn’t even mention those issues! So I didn’t even know about them until I started setting everything up!?! So now I’m restarted this video so I can ask the question where they would make more sense to put them! Just in case I don’t know how to word it better!?! But I’m new to this mode (I’ve played the last 3 games, 2k22, 23 and this one! But also I’m a old school gamer from back in the days of N64 and further! But I stopped playing wrestling games around 2009 2010 because I was tired of buying trash games!!! So I just mean I’m new to the mode)!
the only question is: why we deserve this "football manager" instead of normal season mode with ranks and randomly generated strory lines, where could we smack opponents down right to the title without something time-consuming and so boring? Why we don't even have a choice between fun and ... this? why this 2 options is something like: close to fun (only close to) and totally boring? Where is the fun was lost? I remember Smakdown on PS1 and that was fun. not this. it looks like the game was made to admire the gorgeous models and smooth animation, and not take direct action in fights.
The level 5 allies and enemies doesn't really make sense cuz why would AJ be allied with Mia more then anyone and lookin at other teams like Street Profits, OC, Bloodline, DIY they all are level 1 bond. They need to really explain that
I want to create my own wrestling company with full control. Create 80 wrestlers and have them in universe/GM type mode. 40 men 40 women & managers. Create all title belts. Create PPV/weekly shows & name them. Rivals/Factions/Promos (Type dialogue) control all. Play or Sim (Not watch match) or Watch yet option to be Ref & or interfere in matches. Run ins & sneak attacks to injure. Can I do it & what exactly in WWE 2k or any game?
3:16- I agree with the first one! It makes zero sense to announce a cash in!?! Like I get that when it happens it’s supposed to be a “I’m brave and I don’t need any advantage! I can beat you one on one”…. But it just makes them look stupid! And if they lose, then they look even dumber!!! But also (outside the game) cashing in on someone that would just give you a match if you asked is also dumb!!! I like the mid match (never seen it though) and the end of match one! But I had both of those set to 4 and 5 and a cash in would almost never happen!!! It was annoying! To the point where I would end up just taking it away from them because they cashed in because I wanted to have another MITB match (and yes, I know what I needed to do to have a cash in! And also yes, I gave them way more than enough chances to cash in!!!)! But I can cash it in also? How?!?
So what would you suggest to set the number at? I know you said you set it to 1……. But I had mine (not in this mode) set to 4 and 5 like I said and a cash in would only happen (what seemed like) once every 25-30 matches for that title!?! And no, I’m not exaggerating! Honestly, a lot of times, it was way more!!!
And this is what I was talking about with 2K in WWE they can't get their game to stop glitching like to double title match they won't let you do that for a certain period of time and then they will stop you from doing double titles that's a big ass glitch right there that's why I'm not buying 2K 25
So what’s the point of universe mode? Like just to create scenes? And play the scenes you’re playing? I find that so boring. I like GM mode because you actually get scored for your booking and there’s so much to it. Making the cut scene on universe mode it’s just pointless
sooo far ive done one month in game, of my universe mode, im trying to mostly set up the matches and sometimes stipulations, but sometimes ill let the cpu do some of the match making, kinda a mix, and even tho in real life, they can script who they want to win the matches and the endings.. its not always gonna go the way u want it to, soooo im just going with whatever happens happens, for the most part its been pretty normal and real, There have been some upset matches but all in all not to bad... the biggest match that threw me off alil was ricochet beating gunther, not saying ricochet is a bad wrestler but 9 times outta 10 in real life it would be scripted for Gunther, but oh well, it was a non title match to, there have been a few others i was like huhhh ?? but i just keep on going, one off part was the cpu set up the main event on Raw as a MITB cash in match Priest was facing Mcintyre, who is my world champ after being Seth, but there was no cut scene or anything about him cashing in, It would have been cool if there was some cut scene like drew finishing up a match but beat up alil and then damien comes out cashing in, Anyways it felt like just a normal match, infact i dont even think the title was on the line, Drew went on to win, and they didnt even say and stillllllll world champ, sooo i was like umm did he cash in or not ? lol Ohh by the way, i kinda edited it around to where my first PLE was the Royal Rumble, ya i know its not gonna match up for exact month they land on, Anyways Becky won at #22, And Cody won at 29, im like figures Cody on here to haaa, The rumble has been alil ehhh for me, seems like there was basically 3 types of elimination, and its just like past years, the longer u are in the more likely u will be going out soon, both rumbles tho did have someone who came in around the teen numbers and was still in there when the last person came out, but for the most part the last 3 or 4 wrestlers in the ring all came in in the last like 6 numbers, Sorry this was a long comment hahah, i kept adding on to what i was saying lol... i love seeing the rival actions that the cpu picks, but it kinda sucks unless i set on up on my own, if i make my own match, there is no rival action, and kinda sucks they only happen in one on one matches...
but to add.... again dont try to totally have hope that your universe mode will be like real life to a match, just try to roll with whatever happens happens.. which kinda makes it funner, cause then u get to see things that real WWE wont do, Like example the miz becoming the universal champion if that happens.. ohh well.. cool, not saying the WWE wouldnt really ever do that.. but this can be like a alternate wwe universe, the game can bring u what u wont normally see all the time, yeaaaa granted i do want the higher overall and more known wrestlers to more likely win, i dont wanna be seeing low 80s overalls always beating wrestlers in the 90s overall to much....
I wish there was a season mode where the CPU essentially just generates shows, storylines, rivalries and the user essentially just has the option to sim....
Superstar universe mode is closest to that.

I just sim all the matches in universe mode. Just wish the cur scenes and rivalries were done better.
This was how universe was intended to work. WWE '12 is the first game to have Universe Mode as its own seperate game mode and it pretty much works like you describe. If you still have a PS3/Xbox 360 I highly recommend checking it out
Am I missing something isn’t stock universe mode exactly this? The AI CPU books a card and rivalries and you can just simulate whatever they cook up unless you want to edit anything?
For years, i always make my universal mode to match what's going on in real life on wwe. Tag teams, trades, break ups etc etc.

Universe mode SHOULD be amazing . It should be integrated with my gm and my faction . You should be able to set EVERY rule and there should be ways to create, upload , and download storylines that integrate into your universe mode .

They pretty much didn’t touch this mode at all besides a few new cutscenes, the rivalries are useless because you know they are facing each other every week till the PLE. Good video though
Your reading it wrong. The brawls are fights not matches. They end in dq and you can fight. With no winner. Just like tv.

Something that needs to be added bad and I mean bad is a randomize draft button for universe mode. Tbh the fact you couldn’t do it like that turned me away from it a bit because like you said it can be a bit much. That’s an easy fix as well
In the end, the best advice on how to make the best Universe mode comes down to one simple phrase: Take all the time you feel like you need to set things up in a way that will make things satisfying for you in this mode.
For me personally, I usually don't really " play " the game per se at all for nearly 2 months when it releases, as it's the time it usually take me to set everything up for me to be able to enjoy the game. 😅
Here's my exact routine every year.
- Launch the game.
- Go to Option, turn off every menu music ( as I like my menus to be silent, calm, peaceful, it's a much needed zen moment for me between two matches, having the crowd's roar in the ears during the match ) . Set every options I like them to be, so I don't have to come back in the Options of this game ever again.
- Go straight for Showcase mode. I have zero interest for it ( always skip the videos, and match cinematics during the matches ) , only doing it to unlock everything locked in that mode. Then, do the same for MyRise ( again, skip everything, play on easy, rushing through things, not interested in playing as a CAW I wanna be able to play as a real superstar like in games like HCTP and SvR 07 but no interest in playing as a CAW ) . The idea being to unlock absolutely everything, so that I have everything the game has to offer ( that way, I'll be able to set up all these superstars in Universe, use those arenas if I want to, ect ) . I see rushing through Showcase and MyRise as the first necessary step to set up Universe mode, nothing more. Both MyRise combined usually take me 1 to 2 weeks alone.
- Once everything is finally unlocked, I go in Create A Match, to make all the matches I wanna have accessible to me ( like, for example, a 2 vs 2 Elimination Table Match, a 6 and an 8 man Elimination Match with eliminations only by Pinfall and Submission, a Fatal 4 Way Tag Team Elimination Match with eliminations only by Pinfall and Submission. Yes, mainly creating Elimination matches, as that has always been my favorite stipulation in multi men match types. I wish we could create an Elimination Armageddon HIAC match, but sadly that has never been possible... Not with 2K at least. ) .
- Then, I go to Create A Title, just to make copies of the real belts that I want to use in Universe ( which are the belts WWE was using in 2003 ) . The reason why I do that, is because I wanna use those belts, but, without having the history of past champions attached to them, so that I can create my own history of those titles ( that way, I can have an history of those titles, never held by the guys I don't like or feel like they should've never won those titles ) . I then do the same for MITB. Make one for men and one for women, for the same reason.
- Next step, going to Create An Arena, creating the arenas I'm gonna need for my Universe mode. Which usually consists of arenas used between 2002 to 2005. I don't want no Payback, Fastlane, Extreme Rules, Hell In A Cell, ect in my Universe. Give me back No Way Out, Judgement Day, Bad Blood, Night Of Champions, Great American Bash, Unforgiven, No Mercy, Armageddon. Also make alternative arenas for the PPVs I'll keep ( the big 4 ) , those being original creations, as I like them to look and feel very special. Then use Create A Show to go with all these arenas.
- Now that I have everything I need ( everything is unlocked. Titles, matches, arenas/shows are all ready ) , time to go into Universe mode ( exclusively use Classic ) . The work is far from being over though. The first thing to do, as you did, going into Options to set things how I want them ( which is basically turning everything Off for me, I like to have full control of everything, don't want the game to change anything on it's own ) .
- I start with deleting NXT, Smackdown, and every PPV ( I would delete Raw also if I could, but we can't, need to keep at least one show, so, it is what it is ) . I add Smackdown on Thursday and add a PPV on the last Sunday of every month ( SvR 2007 GM Mode style ) using import a show for all of them ( using all my created arenas ) set up the match numbers ( 9 for SD and 14 for PPVs ) , and match table. Ignore the SD champions for now, I just put back the default ones as placeholders ( World, midcard, tag, women's solo, and that's it, don't place a MITB cause I don't want it to be locked into one show exclusively ) and remove the women's tag titles from Raw ( not using those useless titles ) . Also, not forgetting to go remove all the NXT titles and the women's tag titles from their holders since I won't be using any of those titles. What I then do for Raw since it can't be deleted ( now that SD has been placed back, it could, but then it would skip this first Raw entirely since the show wouldn't exist anymore, and go to SD, and I don't want that ) , is import the show so it has my arena and graphics and all, then edit the matches number ( 9 ) , match table, and keep the default champs as placeholders, just removing the MITB and women's tag champs. Gives the same result in the end as deleting it and recreating it from scratch, so that's good.
- Then comes the most teddious/boring step who takes forever, editing the rosters. It starts with editing the tag teams ( which usually consists in deleting about 75% of the teams ) , and creating the ones I want ( consisting in recreating tag teams who existed in the past, like teaming up Reigns and Rollins to form the Shield, for example. As well as creating a few original ones ) , setting up their names, entrances, victory motions. And that's only the first step, which was the easiest and fastest part, now is time for the absolute worst part, the one that never ends. Going into Superstars, and editing them all, one by one. Modifying the Payback to add Move Thief to everyone ( it used to be a gameplay possibility in older games, it shouldn't be a Payback but a simple gameplay feature accessible to everyone, in my opinion ) , change their crowd reaction and crowd balance how I want them, decide which show I assign them to, turn On minor shows for everyone because yes I'm not using one but it's in case I feel like adding a Heat or something for the last Saturday before a PPV, and then remove every allies and enemies ( and managers ) so I can start with a blank page. I simply put the tag team members as allies and managers for each others so far, but that's it, deleting everyone else. Doing that for every single character alone takes forever ( days ) especially if had downloaded some CAWs on the CC at some point that we want for our Universe ( which I always do ) as it adds even more characters to edit.
- Calendar is ready, superstars and tag teams are ready, only one step left, champions. I spoke about using created copies of the 2003 belts ( to have a blank history for them, the idea being getting rid of the names I don't want there ) , but haven't adressed it yet. Well, that's where my first month of booking comes into play. I print a 64 team tournament bracket on both sides of A4 papers, giving me a total of 8 64 teams tournament brackets. Page 1 is for the world title of each show ( face A = Raw, face B = Smackdown ) , Page 2 is for the midcard title of each show, Page 3 for tag titles of each show, and page 4 for women's title of each show. I then write down 64 names for the world and midcard titles, and, as many as I can for the tag and women's ( obviously not 64 of them available, it's usually 8 teams, and around 25 women for each show ) , I have around 125 superstars per show ( using every currently active wrestlers in the real WWE from the 3 shows, so the NXT roster is spread between both main rosters, as well as all the released ones who can still be active, like Cameron Grimes for example, and most legends too, plus a handful of CAWs. ) . The first month of weekly shows, are all about the tournament matches ( it's a lot of matches to be done, actually have to use minor shows to have more matches per week to be able to do every matches ) , with the finals being held on the first PPV ( so, last Sunday of the month ) to crown the champions. I can then go to edit shows, and switch the default placeholders, for the customized titles. Can't put the titles from the start, 'cause we must pick a champion when placing a belt who don't have an owner, and I don't wanna mess up the title's history from the start by doing that, that's why the champs needs to be crowned first, and only then place those belts to the show. Of course, must not forget to remove the default title holders from their belts afterwards.
And boom, the Universe mode is finally set up for the year, ready to be played and enjoyed. At that time, we're nearly 2 months after release. 😅
I also edit every edit matches on the card, one by one each week, so that the show is exactly as I want it to be each week, same for PPVs.
Very long, very tedious, but it makes things so good. There's nothing like having the exact Universe mode we want to have. Makes everything so much more enjoyable.

*In 2K23, I had two shows in my Universe mode. One was Raw, which was just the men, and a custom show which was all women. The women had their own championship, tag team, and lower card belts..also their own "PLE". It was very interesting. I may do it again this year.*

To me if you take the best parts of myGm, and the best parts of universe mode (number of superstars on roster) and put that together you will have the perfect mode.
This is what I’ve said they should’ve done before brining in GM mode cause it’s clear now with my faction and then GM Mode universe mode just gets the short end of the stick. It should be further ahead of the two

The tag team break up/formation toggle, with that ON does that mean the CPU does this on its own, or does it simply mean that you have the ability to do it on your own? I want to be able to do it, but I dont want the CPU breaking up my tag teams on a whim.

I always found that I got bored of this mode because it's just endless rivalry matches duplicating with no variety. I would love it if 2k brought back Mystery Opponent matches (and create a story), and with main eventers, booked them less frequently as for me, the realism is taken away when Roman Reigns and Lesnar are facing Cody and Drew every week in the main events of Raw and Smackdown.

In superstar mode, you take over one person. In classic you take over everything and can play as anyone

10:57- Ok, so I also heard that if one or all of the brands have more than 40 wrestlers in it then you “need” a minor show!?! But before I started setting up everything and moving/adding wrestlers to shows at least RAW and Smackdown were both over 40 and I didn’t see any “minor shows listed!?? People in the same division will be booked against other people in that division

Im trying to add a tag team to the tag team division but they don’t show up on the division list. How do I add a new team to the division?
They need to be in the same brand and not assigned to any division, if it's a 3 or 4 faction, the first 2 members can be in the tag division, while the others can be in the singles ones.

My problem is I have community created characters that I’ve downloaded and put into my universe but they barely ever show up in the shows, what’s up with that ? It’s always the same character popping up and there usually the ones that are in the game when you buy them, don’t remember it being like this before .
Did you put them in the rankings?
Make sure you select the division they will compete in. If you just add them to the brand show they will be in the “other” division and have a much smaller chance of being booked

Does the stipulation matches work finally? Last years I couldn't get any stipulation like Extreme Rules or HIAC.
Rivalries would go on for months with no stipulation matches… it got repetitive & boring.
I just edit the match and keep the outcomes such as title rankings. You have to make sure to add the outcomes because it will erase them or you can free mode and have all the options available.

Because if I have to, I’ll never do it again!!! I don’t mind having to put a little or a lot of extra work in! But if the payout is zero then the chances of me doing it again is nonexistent!!!
It started out well for me, but now for some reason when I set up a match doesn’t matter the brand, every single superstar becomes available whereas before it was only the ones on that brand. Has a new update changed anything? As this is all very confusing
So can you make it where it's like before the brand split? Where everyone does both shows with only one set of titles.

While it takes a bit of time, I recommend removing ALL enemies and even fringe allies. Universe tends to open up if the Allies/Enemies is bare.
Of course if you want to keep, The OC for example, keep them.
That sort of edit has kept me invested in Universe and pushes me to get creative.
Also, don't just have one save.
Open up another as an "Indy" save.

You can't do custom titles double title matches or in a glitch they will let you do double title matches but not for long I say pass the second month they stopped they won't let you do no more title matches and on top of that your two custom titles that you make one of them will show up and the other one will be glitched out I just don't know how to get it to stop with the I won't let you do the double title anymore
Can You put 2 MITB Briefcases for each show in Universe Mode? 2 for RAW, 2 for SD and 2 for NXT - it was extremely buggy in 2k23
As default you got 7 slots for each show.. 6 are used and you got 1 option to choose whatever you want to add as a 7th "title"

For universe mode I enjoy trying to collect as many superstars in the my faction mode and then try and re create the cards in the universe mode and basically just have a sandbox with all my collected cards and if I ever actually wanna play the game I just play faction but I mainly use this game to watch matches

So, I actually have a huge storyline underway in my universe mode which will ultimately end in my own made-up character, based on me, taking the Head of the Table and Tribal Chief positions from Reigns. But its way more complicated than it seems...
I'm Scottish but also half-Samoan so... My career starts out on NXT where I meet fellow Scots - Gallus. I join forces with them, challenge for the NXT tag championships twice before winning them at Halloween havoc. I then push my character for the NXT title, win and hold it for 3 months, destroying anyone who dares challenge me with Gallus at my back the whole way.
HHH makes the call and asks me to join RAW, leaving Gallus behind to keep the order at NXT but I must forfeit my NXT title and cannot challenge for a solo title for a year. I ultimately join RAW and almost immediately form an alliance with Drew Mcintyre. Together, we Highland Warriors take down the Viking Warriors to win the RAW tag championship. Just when things seem to be ending for my character's story, for the time being at least, LWO jump in and ruin a rematch between us and Viking Warriors, stealing the tag belts in the process and putting all parties in hospital and out of action for a few weeks.
Meanwhile, since Roman lost his title to Cody, Solo has taken charge of the Bloodline, kicked out Roman and recruited Tama Tunga and Jacob Fatu to form a new Bloodline. Solo challenges Cody for his title and, with the help of his family, runs over Cody and wins the belt. This prompts Rock to return and thank Solo for winning his belt and demands he hands it over. Everyone thinks Rock is back to stand up for Roman but they couldn't be more wrong... Solo hands him the belt and calls him "my Tribal Chief". Rock has been calling the shots from Hollywood all along!!
Roman returns and begins recruiting members for his own Bloodline pack. Jey refuses to join until Solo confronts him and tells him he MUST pick a side before jumping him with Rock. Roman comes to Jey's rescue and together they unite with Jimmy and RIKISHI!!!!
This family feud goes all the way to Survivor Series where two wargames are held: The Bloodline Civil War and the Warriors (Scots and Vikings) vs LWO.
LWO take the win and announce nWo are coming back to 'purge' the WWE of "non-Latino/non-American scum". This is where my character announces he is in fact a family member of the Bloodline and asks Rock and Roman to put aside their egos to help fight back against the LWO/nWo. Rock and Roman decide, if they can save the WWE from another nWo invasion, Wrestlmania will be the decider for the People's Championship, Undisputed Championship and, ultimately, the head of the family.
Little do they realise, during the huge multiple months-long battle vs the LWO, my character will move to a more central leadership role, calling shots from first the Warriors side, and then taking a lead for Bloodline and Warriors as a whole.
By the time the WWE is 'saved' from the nWo, my character has assumed almost full power of the family, as well as also won back the tag Championship with Mcintyre. At which point, Rock declares it is only right that he and Roman include me in their Wrestlemania bout and demand HHH let's me have a shot at the title and a chance at being 'Head Chief' in a triple-threat Hell in a Cell match...
This whole storyline also ends with Gallus and Drew Mcintyre being pushed into Raw to form their own stable and cross-brand alliance with the Vikings (Smackdown) and Bloodline. Each stable will sometimes have guests from their alliances show up on opposite shows as managers etc. With me as their overall Head Chief.
Btw, nWo turn out to be headed by John Cena with Rey Mysterio being the leader of LWO.
Rock and Roman ultimately go back to being a team and go for John Cena and Rey Mysterio to end the nWo/LWO completely who are left barely standing after the huge all-out war and make a short comeback after a few months hiatus.

For 2K23I created collision. Dynamite arenas and downloaded at least 90 wrestlers for AEW. I even downloaded rampage, but I think. 5 shows a week was enough.
I have edited some of the superstars ratings manually and it hasn’t translated into universe mode. It’s just the original ratings. How do I change this
You have to save it in universe mode as well. Not just in exhibition mode
I deleted NXT last year but found there were superstars I wasn't using so I added it back.
How do you cash in mid match??
Either you are playing or watching Ai vs AI match, between the champ, if you go the pause menu, you can click "cash in".

1:46- Can’t you just set up their next match as a Submission Match and that would end their rivalry? Or does that not happen in this mode?!? (Remind you, I got a lot of my information from 2 different channels that didn’t actually give explanations or reason behind everything they told the viewer to do!?! Sorry, but this is kinda a side question off of the original one that doesn’t really matter. I could find out once I start this up…… but every time they have a match, doesn’t their rivalry go up?!? And if so, wouldn’t it have to be ended after 4 or 5?!? Like, it can’t go higher than 5. So unless their just permanent rivals then it should at some point end!?! If it doesn’t then I’ll definitely will want to shut it off!?!
I e been trying to figure Universe mode out because I’ll start it and it pairs random people from different teams together. And it’s mad annoying cause I wanna do weekly episodes for my channel, like they would pair Otis with Julius creed and team him against 2 randomly paired wrestlers. How would I go about fixing that issue
Having more tag teams that you think go together. And turning of automatic tag teams
I think that a superstar cannot be in the contenter list for more than one title. I think that when you add him in a title, he goes out from the other, so each wrestler can compete for one championship :/
Also if you choose to disband a tag teams make sure to go into the superstars and change the allies and change the managers for said superstars.
Or you'll still have them walk out together and be booked together.
I can't watch anymore as your style of play is too based for me. Too simplistic.
Anyone else having issues with universe mode constantly swapping managers for people facing each other or duplicating them to an opponent who doesn't have one? Same with certain matches like gauntlet for example, adding the same superstar to the match twice 😅

But at that 20 minute mark where I left that first comment/questions that caught my attention because not knowing those answers to them made it impossible to finish my set up my UMode!?! the only question is: why we deserve this "football manager" instead of normal season mode with ranks and randomly generated strory lines, where could we smack opponents down right to the title without something time-consuming and so boring? Why we don't even have a choice between fun and ... this? why this 2 options is something like: close to fun (only close to) and totally boring? Where is the fun was lost? I remember Smakdown on PS1 and that was fun. not this. it looks like the game was made to admire the gorgeous models and smooth animation, and not take direct action in fights.

The level 5 allies and enemies doesn't really make sense cuz why would AJ be allied with Mia more then anyone and lookin at other teams like Street Profits, OC, Bloodline, DIY they all are level 1 bond. They need to really explain that
How to do promos?
I want to create my own wrestling company with full control. Create 80 wrestlers and have them in universe/GM type mode. 40 men 40 women & managers. Create all title belts. Create PPV/weekly shows & name them. Rivals/Factions/Promos (Type dialogue) control all. Play or Sim (Not watch match) or Watch yet option to be Ref & or interfere in matches. Run ins & sneak attacks to injure. Can I do it & what exactly in WWE 2k or any game?
You can create your own show with all of those things as long as you have the patience to create that many superstars
3:16- I agree with the first one! It makes zero sense to announce a cash in!?! Like I get that when it happens it’s supposed to be a “I’m brave and I don’t need any advantage! I can beat you one on one”…. But it just makes them look stupid! And if they lose, then they look even dumber!!! But also (outside the game) cashing in on someone that would just give you a match if you asked is also dumb!!! I like the mid match (never seen it though) and the end of match one! But I had both of those set to 4 and 5 and a cash in would almost never happen!!! It was annoying! To the point where I would end up just taking it away from them because they cashed in because I wanted to have another MITB match (and yes, I know what I needed to do to have a cash in! And also yes, I gave them way more than enough chances to cash in!!!)! But I can cash it in also? How?!?
So what would you suggest to set the number at? I know you said you set it to 1……. But I had mine (not in this mode) set to 4 and 5 like I said and a cash in would only happen (what seemed like) once every 25-30 matches for that title!?! And no, I’m not exaggerating! Honestly, a lot of times, it was way more!!!

sooo far ive done one month in game, of my universe mode, im trying to mostly set up the matches and sometimes stipulations, but sometimes ill let the cpu do some of the match making, kinda a mix, and even tho in real life, they can script who they want to win the matches and the endings.. its not always gonna go the way u want it to, soooo im just going with whatever happens happens, for the most part its been pretty normal and real, There have been some upset matches but all in all not to bad... the biggest match that threw me off alil was ricochet beating gunther, not saying ricochet is a bad wrestler but 9 times outta 10 in real life it would be scripted for Gunther, but oh well, it was a non title match to, there have been a few others i was like huhhh ?? but i just keep on going,
one off part was the cpu set up the main event on Raw as a MITB cash in match Priest was facing Mcintyre, who is my world champ after being Seth, but there was no cut scene or anything about him cashing in, It would have been cool if there was some cut scene like drew finishing up a match but beat up alil and then damien comes out cashing in, Anyways it felt like just a normal match, infact i dont even think the title was on the line, Drew went on to win, and they didnt even say and stillllllll world champ, sooo i was like umm did he cash in or not ? lol
Ohh by the way, i kinda edited it around to where my first PLE was the Royal Rumble, ya i know its not gonna match up for exact month they land on, Anyways Becky won at #22, And Cody won at 29, im like figures Cody on here to haaa, The rumble has been alil ehhh for me, seems like there was basically 3 types of elimination, and its just like past years, the longer u are in the more likely u will be going out soon, both rumbles tho did have someone who came in around the teen numbers and was still in there when the last person came out, but for the most part the last 3 or 4 wrestlers in the ring all came in in the last like 6 numbers,
Sorry this was a long comment hahah, i kept adding on to what i was saying lol... i love seeing the rival actions that the cpu picks, but it kinda sucks unless i set on up on my own, if i make my own match, there is no rival action, and kinda sucks they only happen in one on one matches...
but to add.... again dont try to totally have hope that your universe mode will be like real life to a match, just try to roll with whatever happens happens.. which kinda makes it funner, cause then u get to see things that real WWE wont do,
Like example the miz becoming the universal champion if that happens.. ohh well.. cool, not saying the WWE wouldnt really ever do that.. but this can be like a alternate wwe universe, the game can bring u what u wont normally see all the time, yeaaaa granted i do want the higher overall and more known wrestlers to more likely win, i dont wanna be seeing low 80s overalls always beating wrestlers in the 90s overall to much....
