  • The Enzoni was created by Barman Vincenzo Errico while working at the legendary NYC bar Milk & Honey. Errico was an Italian bartender who Sasha Petraske (founder and owner of Milk & Honey) met while he was in England opening the London arm of his bar asked Errico to join him at his flagship bar in New York. Errico had gone to London from Naples in 1999 looking for opportunity and luckily for him fell into a job where he was trained by legendary English barman Dick Bradsell.
Errico created this drink in 2003 and it is a mash up of a Negroni and also a traditional Gin Sour. I wish I could tell you more about it's creation but with modern classics sometimes theres not that much there. What I will tell you though is that it's delicious and perfect for the spring and summer so enjoy it!

I usually use aperol instead of campari for cocktails like a negroni because I prefer it a little less bitter, but for something like this I think i'll definitely have to get campari

I used aperol first time I made this and loved it, and I normally prefer Campari. That version was also made using dark purple Sapphire grapes and I used 1/4 oz honey syrup instead of 1/2 oz simple as that’s what I had on hand, amazing and that’s in January!

If you have something small like grapes, you should grab yourself a ruler and take a picture of the grapes next to it for the purpose of size comparison. That way if a person needs to prepare a large batch or they are really anal they can calculate volumes and all that nonsense.

I know this is a year old, but I’ve only recently (since quarantine) gotten into mixing cocktails. I couldn’t get my head around Campari. Way too bitter for me. Barfly,
I have taken to using Luxardo Bitter rather than Compari as it is somewhat less sweet and seems much more pungent in my experience. I know there are other makes of Bitter - I have not found one better than Luxardo - not the Blanco in this case that may have a you somewhere a bit it's the standard red bitter.
Also I see no benefit for the simple as the sweetness of the graves and the syrup seem more than adequate.... Depending on the nature of the greats approximately one great per teaspoon of gin
    Comments?
