@@AComplexMexfor me the Eb slots better than basically all the other notes above the staff. When I'm doing an excercise like in the video it slot better than everything else and it's at the top of my range.
Hi man, how r u doing? So basically, I will try to summarize what I have been doing. 1) Equipment - In my opinion, to play these notes, you'll need the right equipment. At least a medium/shallow mouthpiece. Mine's is a pickettbrass 8DE, and the backbore is a #C4 2) Exercises - You also need to add in your routine those exercises to play high notes every single day. At the end of Vizutti's book 1, there is a section dedicated to those exercises. I also practice Clarke's book exercises #1, #2, and #9 in double octaves as much high as I can.. little by little. 3) Be patient and rest. As time goes by, your embouchure will be strengthened, and you will be able to play as high as you want. PS: I am not a professional player, so there will be lots of other ways to achieve the same target. I have some other exercises in my channel. Check it out.. and I hope these tips can help you.
@@marcosjuniorTPT Hi I'm doing alright, thank you for asking. I haven’t been improving for a while and I’m getting discouraged. I checked out the range exercises at the end of the book, and i can't hit a high c comfortably. The highest note I can hit comfortably is a D in the staff. What should I focus on in the book?
@@minecrafttryhard9069 Don't get discouraged, it takes time but it's something worth for because you'll be proud of you and you'll know it for the rest of your days. Personnally, (I can't hit a double C as this guy haha) what worked for me was that: (focus on one thing and another, take your time ;) ) First you need to have a good embouchure. Make sur your lips have the right placement and so on: th-cam.com/users/shortsQM7RFf-9imY I buzz at the start of the session, everytime. For a moment you can train focusing on high notes, so basically you can do what's done on that video, trying to go higher and higher, with the embouchure. You can also train that doing glissandos that goes higher and higher. Then you can do that with the trumpet (don't forget to warm it up, else it's harder) Also don't hesitate trying to play sheets that are a bit higher than what you usually play, like near your highest note so you'll get use to that and get mor strength. What's important to know is that to have higher pitch you need more pressure so you're embouchure more thigtened (the periphy but with the lips relaxed, so they can vibrate properly) so you make a hole more little. You can do an "e" sound in your mouth and look at how you're tongue is positionned. You use that tongue placement (like a wave) so it will accelerate the airflow and then the pressure. Don't hesitate to use your abs to get more power, you push inside with them. When you blow the air, don't try blowing higher, try blowing further and further in the trumpet (as you were trying to blow out a candle that's really far away). For the embouchure, I have the basic one with a study model, recently after a bit of tryhard I've hit high C, high D#, so you can clearly do it with a basic one ;) Good luck, hope it helped you !
Thanks, man! Now the title is correct! I've been practicing these notes for several years and have consistently practiced to improve day by day. It's not easy, but it isn't impossible either.
tip. DO NOT lift your shoulders when you breath in!! This creates tension where it shouldn't in places like the shoulders and neck muscles. It will block airways preventing you from achieving maximum airflow.
the upset sigh after the E doesn't initially slot well is so real.... I hate that note so much... but it so fun to actually play
Exactly. it's basically impossible to hit most of the time, but when it actually comes out it's amazing.
Exactly !!! 😊😁
For me it’s the Eb, that note never wants to slot for me

Great range, brother! What mouthpiece and trumpet are you playing on?
Thanks man! I am playing on a pickettbrass 8DE backbore commercial #C4
