    A little different than my review on the recent Fosi V3. This amp isn't budget nor is it one of the do it all in one box solutions but what it does do, it does it very well. Please consider liking and subscribing, help grow the channel!

      Hi Orchard. Just out of interest, do you sell in the UK market and, if so, is that direct or through an importer in country ?

    • @OrchardAudio
      @OrchardAudio ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @jimfarrell4635 I sell worldwide, direct. This cuts out the middle man and allows me to offer the best prices. Everything ships from the US. I have a two week trial period. Your only responsibility is return shipping if you don't like it.

    5:27 "Digital amplifiers, also known as Class D amplifiers, operate by converting an analog input signal into a digital format that uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) or pulse-density modulation (PDM)."

    Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you have plans to evaluate the Duo/Trio product. It seems like a great 3 channel amp solutions with the trade off primarily being less power at a lower cost.
    I have wondered how such a solution compares to the GalionTS A75.
    For the time being, I am using JBL Studio 590's which are so sensitive, I really don't need much power. I also tend to be satisfied under 70db so my needs are small.

    Have it, love it. I had the amp with the Hyped power supplies before and they were unstable.

    Nice episode, Matt. I agree that, on paper at least, GanFets have benefits and, like you, expect to see a lot more in mid tier products. And how long before one of the Chinese players bring out their own Gan amps ?
    I have always been a Class A valve and AB solid state guy, but low budget amps like the BT 20A pro and V3 have provided a cheap and pain free entry into the world of Class D and I have been suitably impressed. I would love to hear a good Gan or Eigentakt amp.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, I am glad we have some decent class D budget options for people to sample. Simple way to build some trust in the chips, like you said a pain free entry. If you get a chance sample a GaN tech, performed really well sonically. I also agree the competition will be coming, at the very least the competition will keep the innovation coming from the companies innovating.

    i think the idle power consumption needs to be addressed, it is more like the standby power as i assume it goes into automatically(and hardly comes back from at least on my nad c298). what is more important is the low watt power consumption or low watt efficiency, and if you do not use the standby function. then how many watts is used when not playing music or at 1 watt of output, then we need that wattage.
    some manufacturer provide the "Quiescent power consumption" and that is the wattage the amp needs to stay on.
    example: ICEpower 125ASX2 states Quiescent power consumption as 9.5watt, that means at no music playing up to 1 watt of music output it is about 9.5 to 10,5 watts of usage, also all that is waste heat.
    as the amp is more powerful that wattage also goes up with it. double that amp output double the idle watt following is nearby.

    Ok Matt not a knock a great read on the XLR Leo will appreciate Im sure not being technical kinda leaves some of you guys a disadvantage one would really on need extend the USB on the PI4 included to utilize an external DAC Volumio or Roopie ( one can easily change between the 2 in software)

    Great review! Been looking at the Starkrimson awhile now as a end-game amplifier at some point, glad to see they are continually updating it. I just wish the case work was a bit nicer, it looks fine and I prefer clean looking gear but the Orchard Audio stuff is a bit blah which is kinda a issue at this price point.
    Also, not sure if its just me but I kept hearing "silicone", instead of "silicon"?

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah if the case had a bit more of an organic look I would really be into that, it’s fine as is but a little something to set apart a great amp would be nice. Also, yeah sometimes when ya do these videos a silicone/silicon slips through haha, these videos take a long time to film with all the setup required so a reshoot for a slip up just isn’t feasible. Glad you enjoyed the review, take care.
