Thank You for showing the better way to layout rocks in an Mbuna tank. I think I've unwittingly contributed to several deaths in my 36" curved glass mbuna tank. In a year's time, I've lost 8 due to my inadequate tank size and lack of enough hiding places. What a screw-up I've been. At least I now have a 55 gallon to start over. Nope, it's not much, but it's a heap better than before.
@@dwsdarius Rescaping is not my strong point. I tend to set and forget my tank scapes🤔. I'm not one to disturb a good thing, but Mbunas are probably gonna make me change my rigid ways🤣🤣.
mbuna in smaller tanks are tricky. I have a colony of demasoni and yellow labs [ over 30 fish adults, juveniles and fry] in a 33 gallon and the only reason everyone in there is alive and well [ excluding a fry that is injured and is being treated] is the sheer number of fish and the scattered fake plants and rockwork. if I could redo it, I would have def got a bigger tank or stuck to community fish
All fish can jump, however I'll say mbuna are slightly less likely. With this group I haven't had any jumpers but when I kept mbuna years ago I had a a jumper I think twice
The cichlid keeper always comes back to the mbuna tank, even with all the aggression no other fish is as rewarding as the mbuna, great video mate👊🏻
Thank you, yes nothing quite like mbuna
Totally agree, their personality is unmatched 💜. Most enjoyable to watch.
Im deciding between peacock vs mbuna 😂😂
@@darleneanddonovan good luck whatever you choose, love both types
That's turned out amazing, I love all those scenic shots.

Thanks, yeah this works now but I imagine that as they grow I'll probably have to rescape monthly to keep them in check

Nice Mbuna setup. I like how the rocks match with the background. What rocks are those?
Thanks, I don't know the exact type...but I collected them from the side of a mountain
Need to add some duckweed, small snails, scuds/shrimp and or livebearers imo.
Any idea on what rock that is?
Looks great.
nyyyyyyyve love the switch
Thank you!
Nice
Beautiful 😍
Thank you!
😎freaking sweet!
Thank you!
Did you have the Africans in a different tank or get them from somebody? What did you do with the fish that were in the tank?
These are the african ciclids that were living in my 210 gallon with the tilapia. The veija from this tank are now in my 350g
Phenomenal. 👍
Thank you!
Very nice!! Whats the tank size??
Thanks, 125 gallons
I’ve never kept African cichlids, but when I have the space available I do want a tropheus tank
Tropheus are beautiful and of course super aggressive!
Fired Up!!!
Thank you!
Very nice 👌
What size is the fish tank?
Thank you, 125 gallons
keep a shortbody flowerhorn with them...but you have to balance the water hardness for it..
Could I keep them with a rimless tank ? Are they jumpers ?
All fish can jump, however I'll say mbuna are slightly less likely. With this group I haven't had any jumpers but when I kept mbuna years ago I had a a jumper I think twice
Aquário lindo de mais parabéns
I'm doing my first african chiclid tank. I have a 4 ft 200 litre tank. What should my stocking numbers be for mbuna?
I'd do 15-20 in that sized tank
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Are these just a mix of mbuna ?
Yes
What size tank?
If I edited my comment would you edit yours as well?
Nice Estherae :)
They call that fish the African "BIG EYE" catfish Chrysichthys longipinnis. The big eyes are natural with this species
What fish is the white with yellow tail
Albino Red Top Zebra
Tank dimension ?
72"x18"x21"
