Me and my dad (81yrs.) were sitting at the dining table and listened to Abba's new songs, yesterday... while we watched through the tall windows of the living-room into the green of our garden. We were near tears because of remembering my mom, who liked Abba so much and passed away 5 years ago. There was so much melancholie, consoling and joy at the same time by hearing ABBA's wonderful new songs. Mom, we would have danced through the living-room, if you were still alive.
Notice how many different languages there are in these comments? I’ve already seen people writing in German, Spanish, Russian, Swedish and Greek. That’s how beloved ABBA is all around the world. The didn’t have to write and record new songs to do a reunion, and they certainly didn’t have to make their comeback single sound like an instant classic. But they did it anyway. It wasn’t nostalgia that made me cry watching this video,; rather, it was the fact that they care so much about their legacy that they waited until they had a song this good. Thank you for the music.
Dear ABBA,.... I’m a 58 year old retired US Army Paratrooper, and I just listened to your song, ”I still have faith in you”. I’m crying like a small child, but I have a huge smile on my face, and warmth in my Heart. I have the feeling of happiness once again thanks to you. I was married to my beautiful wife Lisa for 34 WONDERFUL years....she was my everything. She played your music at our wedding, and on our anniversaries, and when I returned home from deployments away from her while I was in the military....she adored you, and your music! YOU made her so happy with your music. I took her to see the Broadway show “Mama Mia” in New York for our last wedding anniversary and she was so happy,... YOU ...made her happy, both on the inside and on the outside. Because of YOU, I have this vision, this mental picture of her in my mind from that night with her huge smile and big brown eyes bright and happy...thank you for that gift!! She passed away very suddenly not too long after taking her to see that show, and every time since then, when I would hear your songs on the radio, I can picture her smile, but your music has been fading from the radio as the years have gone by. But Tonight, hearing you sing once again!!...you have brought my Lisa back to me... I can see her clearly in my mind once again, ..your music has brought her back to life, and back to me In ways I just I can not explain....I just wish she could have been hear to witness this event, she would have gone crazy!! LOL...Thank you!! You have brought peace back to my soul again, and I can feel the love in my heart once more where it has been a cold and lonely place since she left to be my angel in heaven. Thank you, thank you, my dear dear friends, ABBA....and one more thing my old friends.... YES,..yes, ..... I DO hear the drums now, .........Fernando.😇
Reading your open letter got me grabbing some more kleenex, like many ABBA fans, watching their music video took me to roller coaster of emotions, back when i was a teen, the laidback carefree times, that was 40 yrs ago.ABBA's music gave us joy and hope for challenging period many of us are facing now.
I absolutely cried from watching the video The memories of Abba will be treasured and cherished forever So loved and adored all over the world Love u so much Abba my treasures ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Can't believe that those are the voices of two ladies in their seventies; they sound just as good as they did 40+ years ago! And the song is lovely; was worried that their new songs wouldn't live up to the brilliant music they produced in the past but those worries were unfounded. REALLY happy they are having this reunion; I feel like I'm a teenager all over again!
This isn't just a new song from ABBA. It is an "ANTHEM" for their triumphant return. A reminder, for everyone, that the Legacy and Legend of ABBA lives on.
I love Abba
@@copypolice Get a grip. She's been known as Frida for many, many years and signs and uses that nickname herself. Of course her full name is Anni-Frid but pedants like you are toxic.
I was driving along earlier today when this emotional song was broadcast on the radio....I could've sworn it was ABBA..deeper female voices, but familiar....it was! I thought to myself, "I know all the Abba songs, for what reason had I missed listening to this one all those years ago? Why hadn't I heard it even once over the years? Was this some obscure B-side extra that had been strangely uncovered?" When I heard that it had only just come out, the enormity of the reunion and collaboration dawned on me....one of the greatest pop groups of all time made a comeback after almost four decades, against all odds! All still alive and kicking...fantastic! 🇸🇪❤️
Yep its abba alright they havent changed abit and yes this song sends shivers down my spine can not wait for the new album abbamania is back and this time i get to experience every second of it bring it on see u in london
The tears just ran down my face. I can not find any words. This comeback means all the more at this time, when hardly any special songs have been released for years. The second time you hear it, you realize the potential of this beautiful song. I also see it through the eyes of my parents, who were then as old as I am now. ABBA thank you very much for this wonderful music. I am deeply moved.
I was in tears the whole way through this. I am a 44 year old man but this took me back to being that 5 year old boy sitting with his mother on the couch listening to all her ABBA vinyl's with her. ABBA was her band. She loved them like she loved her kids and she imparted that love of them into all of us. Phew 5 min 19 second emotional rollercoaster. Thank you ABBA. I love you guys!
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever even let myself imagine that Abba would come back. This is one of the best things that's happened in the history of the world!
@@danneman5036 Thanks for saying that, but I'm gonna assume that his comment was in the same spirit of hyperbole as mine was. I thought it was funny, made me laugh.
Alright, so here I am, a 54 year old guy who normally listens to prog, metal and rock. Along comes ABBA, my first love from when I was little, long lost but never forgotten, and it makes me happier than anything in a long, long, long while. Dear ABBA, you found the right moment to make the world seem a whole of a lot brighter. Thank you! :-)
This song is a perfect re-introduction of ABBA to the world. It sounds new and old all at once and epitomizes what has always made them brilliant. The moment I heard Frida hit that lower register it brought tears to my eyes! You can hear the life and experience in her voice and it adds another layer to their sound that just wouldn't have been possible in the 1970s or 1980s. I'm so excited to hear the rest of the album!
Don't Shut Me Down, their other new single, is also an amazing reintroduction. While this one is a sweeping ballad, Don't Shut Me Down is an energectic dance track full of high melodies. Love it!
That is so true ... they were a certain kind of beautiful we've never seen since. When my friend told me yesterday they were "coming back", it was every single "One of Us is Crying" heard over 100 times - only, with joy (that has got to be one of the greatest tracks of all time 🥳) ... SO excited!
I'm almost 16, and so I didn't grow up during the times that ABBA released their past albums, but my dad introduced me to their music when I was younger. We would listen to their songs during car trips and I would always enjoy dancing to them. My father unfortunately passed away when I was 9, but listening to ABBA brings back all the best memories that I have with my dad.💗 Their music has always made me smile and these new songs have truly brightened up my day!
I remember being 16 and going to woolworths to buy...ABBA the album..and now I'm almost sixty( I blinked and 40 years flew by ) abba',s music had accompanied my odyssey like an old friend I would like to pass that baton to you. ..enjoy the roller coaster 🎢 of live love and sadness for its these that make us human 🐎
You are fantastic - Love, joy, sadness, melancholy, passion, victory.. all in the same basket. I grew up to the Beatles (the greatest ever) music - However I need to confess Abba touches me no less than the Beatles did. An amazing story of all times - and it will always be 🥰❤
Let’s have a thought for all the ABBA fans who have passed away in forty years, we are fortunate to witness it, it’s like an extraordinary cosmic event. Thank you !
I feel like ABBA is one of those bands that literally everyone in the world likes at least one of their songs whether they admit it or not. This is awesome can’t believe they are back.
@@mrkhoros Try their other new song "Don't shut me down" for more of an energetic dance track and higher melodies. However there is a load of magic and great songs from their 8 albums released 40 plus years ago. The third biggest selling group in history behind the beatles and elvis. Give it a go :p Does your mother know and hole in your soul live at wembley is a great place for energetic rock to start! Or dancing Queen and S.OS. if you like beautifully crafted pop. But there's many, many more.
This song is incredible for a group in their seventies. Now, you can hear the age in their voices, but it just makes it better! They do not need to try and sound the way did then to make a powerful song. Thank you ABBA.
@@sandrahertzke8387 I am 33, my uncle used to carry me on when I was a young child. I used to hear the music playing in the background. Sadly my uncle passed away in 2019. I live in UK and couldn't attend the funeral in India. Last night, I came across the new music track and it took me back in time. I was touched by the song..
I’m actually crying. I’m only 18 but grew up listening to all of ABBA’s songs, I absolutely loved them. My mum and I always sang & danced to their songs throughout my childhood, they are some of my most precious memories. I can’t wait to listen to this with my mum, we’ll both probably get really emotional. I remember saying on my 17th birthday while singing and dancing to Dancing Queen with my mum that I hoped ABBA would make a return and now it’s happening. I’m so happy, they’re still so magical after all this time. So grateful that my mum introduced me to them growing up so I never missed out on the true magic that is ABBA🥰♥️
Just think, that beautiful, low, loving voice is coming from a 75 year old woman who has been an incredible performer for more than 60 years, and still is loved by the world! Love Frida!
My dad introduced me to ABBA, he's been listening to your cassette and CDs when I was a kid. When he died this year, he was 74. I created a playlist with all his favorite songs, and most of ABBA's songs are there. Knowing that you released a song 40years after and on the same year he died makes me feel something. Thank you for the music, ABBA. Long live.

"We want Abba!" That's when I was a kid and became a fan. My children were born and Abba was part of it. Now I am a grandfather several times over and my grandchildren sing along to Abba songs by heart. My grandchildren love Abba, just like my children. They are not only icons of music history, they are also part of the family. It is a dream that they make music again. We can only thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
Only Abba could release a Self-reflective and totally touching song like this. They don't conform to trends but write music as they genuinely feel. There has never been and never will be a pop group that comes anywhere near them. Absolutely class and quality. I Absolutely respect and thank them. ❤
I totally agree Anthony. Abba really are true masters of their art, there will never be a group like them again. As a teenager they were my heroes and as a woman now on the very wrong side of 50 ….. they write this song with its beautiful haunting melody and recapture my teenage heart all over again. Thank you Abba ❤️❤️❤️❤️
40 years later and a band of 4 people still have the power to make generations of people fall to their knees with just the words of a song it’s amazing how people all over the world and people of all different ages all still know how amazing this band truly is
Nikt inny już nigdy nie potrafi wrócić po czterdziestoletniej przerwie z nowym albumem i osiągnąć takiego sukcesu, jakby takiej nieobecności wcale nie było.
Undeniable. Unmistakeable. Pure ABBA from beginning to end. I wasn't sure how I would feel hearing new stuff. What would 40 Years Later ABBA music sound like. I never dreamed they would stick so closely to the original sound. This really is as if the last 40 years never happened and the next ABBA album dropped as it would have 4 decades ago.

@Christine Ayres Yes indeed. And I know they weren't keen to perform on stage themselves, because they were worried that people wouldn't want to see an old ABBA. But I honestly think no one would care
@@Mazikeen1809 We're just grateful to see (and hear) them back, whatever they want to give us! It would have been exhausting, and not much fun, for them to tour again.
They had an impossible task yet somehow they were able to find a way to provide that classic, timeless Abba sound we all love yet still be fresh, bringing new listeners in without alienating their old fans. This album is going to be incredible. I can't believe we're getting a whole damn album out of this! What a moment.
They are probably one of the best bands of all time, barring Queen! It's a hard choice. Because both wrote (well Abba still do) incredibly complex music. They'll never be replaced and like other great classical composers - in hundreds of years from now, people still be playing their music!
I have gramophone disc like this group ABBA . It's Hiquality and very old disc.. how want to this. I'll send you.. please respond me. I'm from sri lanka 🇱🇰
I haven't stopped playing both songs yet. It's ABBA. The songs have so many hooks they just keeping tweaking the pleasure centres. Voyage will be their best ever. Just. Amazing.
Frida´s voice!!! wow!! it feels just in the heart!!! it feels like having her just in the heart!!! thank you Frida! Thank you ABBA!!! I love you! This difficult time we´re living is not so dark anymore!!! thank you! and welcome back!
Nice change from the past two decades of mostly crap. A beautiful lady who can sing beautifully. Never thought I would have the privilege of listening to new ABBA songs.
You hear the age in their voices, yet it is still undeniably ABBA. Top tier production, clear winks to their past, a bit of ambiguity if they sing about their friendship or the fans...They will never lose their magic (touch).
You do hear the age, but it's absolutely none the worse for it either. I actually find it really touching and endearing. Such a wonderfully wistful, slightly vulnerable sounding opener after 40 long years.
Hey, I'm not complaining either. The very fact that you hear the age is a compliment, proving they don't need trickery to sound 'perfect'. 40 years passed but they still sound like that? 🙌
I think that, after these 39 years, Benny, Björn, Agnetha and Frida have finally understood that they are an immense part of the history of music. I want to believe that, by accepting that responsibility and acting with their well known humility, they know deep down that they owe humanity one more gift. It is not a matter of money. I'm 56. Since 1974 I have experienced the release of all their singles and albums with great excitement, and I could never imagine ABBA releasing another after 'The Visitors', which marked the end of an era. Having listened to two new songs, it wouldn't be fair to have an opinion of the new album, though it already sounds wonderful. It may not be an ABBA reunion the way people wish, but the only idea of enjoying a new album is a blessing. I don't think there is a single week in my life that I have not listened to their music, which has proven to be timeless and beyond all trends. Thanks once again for the music, ABBA!
The fact that we are in a pandemic and one of the greatest bands of all time return after 40 years to bring us new music. This is hands down one of the greatest comebacks ever. I am proud to be listening to their new music. I am in tears.
There must have been, literally, millions of ABBA fans, who have passed away and who had longed, for decades, that they would reunite and produce new songs, but missed out and never got to experience what we are experiencing now. Very sad, indeed! Makes me realise how lucky I am and makes me appreciate being alive now and able to join in the celebration of their much-longed-for resurrection. Thank you ABBA!!!
I’ve only been a Abba fan for like 2 weeks I was born in 2004 so abba was way before my time but this song has already got me tearing like I’ve been a fan for 50 years waiting for the reunion
ABBA, you have done something that no one has been able to accomplish in the past 2 years, you've managed to take people's minds off COVID 19 and put a huge smile on the worlds face again and it's so good to see the world smile again. Thank you.
I'm happy they sound like they made you think of something other than COVID but I'm sure you're speaking for a very limited amount of people there, this didn't even take my mind off what was for tea that night, in fact it sounds awful but I'm happy they have the ability to make others like yourself happy which is all that counts
How a band can come back after a near 40 year break, and achieve this seamless gap is incredible! As a child, in 1982, when ABBA faded away I had to deal with it, like everyone did. But today, listening to these 2 songs, you have taken me back to 1982 (circa), and what could and should have been. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. The world has turned in that time, good and bad things have happened over the years, but today, these songs have made me cry everytime I listen to them. You were right to "still have faith", in yourselves and us. The joy you have brought me (and many others) is the same as when I rushed out to buy all those other "epic" albums. God bless the 4 of you!!!
ABBA I grew up with them and collected everything they released and when you think it’s all over here we go again, fabulous and those six words are so powerful and hit inside.well done ABBA show them how it’s done.I have also collected all solo albums of agnetha faltskog and Frida and wonderful music 🎤🎤
I also cry, that it so poor song and they try to break their legend. I've got all albums of Abba, but will not buy the new one. What for to destroy the best feelings?
@@danielsam42 I respect your opinion but, for me, this song has two meanings: 1) they telling us why they are coming back, and 2) it's more like an universal message: Who has not ever needed to be told "I still have faith in you"?
What can I say... I moved to Sweden because of ABBA, I lived there for ten years and learned Swedish. I am now a professional translator from Swedish to Spanish, so I owe them not only the happy times I have spent listening to their music, but also ten wonderful years in Sweden and now, back in Spain, my profession. Such a wonderful present to all your fans! ABBA, thank you for your music!

An absolutely astonishing comeback. I don't think any artist has stayed away so long and returned so triumphantly. The music of ABBA is part of so many people's life who grew up in the 70s. These 2 new songs are as good as the best in their incredible catalogue. Album is pre-ordered tickets to experience the show in London are booked for next summer. Bravo ABBA the wait has been long, but the return has exceeded all possible expectations.
Well to be fair, B and B has continued to produce great music/songs after the ABBA break-up. So they have not been "out of it". Sure a lot of it was in swedish, but still great music!

I just love that they didn’t change their sound. They didn’t allow the current generation of music to tinker with their authenticity. This is perfection
Very well said. But reading so many positive comments from young people also make wonder that this instant success may mean that all these last decades there was nothing similar quality coming
And I loved that Benny said that there was no way for them to even begin creating the "so called" modern sound of today's music. Like he couldn't even wrap his head around it.
Frida continues to stun us all with her faultless classical mezzo-soprano voice after so many years. I get severe goosebumps listening to this enchanting song.
One of Abba's secrets is that when Agneta or Frida were not in the foreground in a given song they did their best to make the "first" one even better. Their "competition" has always been about better sharing and helping rather than shining separately.
This actually means much more to me knowing it comes from a very mature Frida, aware of the loss and pain she endured after the group retired. She gathered herself and gave this gift to us who have loved her for over five decades. Thank you Anni-Frid for bringing joy to this old tired soul.
@@karollorek6344 You probably do as well... fancy saying that to an ABBA fan. There are lovers in this world... and you aren't one of them! Happy misery to you and keep sucking away.

In 1979 i was rummaging through the music store and found ABBA: The Album. It was on sale. I paid the price with mowing money i had earned and when i took the albun home, pulled the record out of the sleeve and placed it on the phonograph, it was heaven on earth. For a Korean American kid living in Northern Wisconsin it was an eye opener about a better and bigger world out there. Over the decades i left that small town, went to college, got married to my darling wife and had a beautiful son. But as i get older, i remember fondly that time of my youth listening to this beautiful music. You made me cry again. Thanks, for the memories.
I used to listen to them back in Poland before I came to USA in 1982. Got I think it will be about 45 years since first time I've put their Waterloo album on my record player and I fell in love and I have been ever since. I can't hold my emotions listening to this new album. They will be in my heart forever.
It's a case of "I'm listening to it and watching this, yet I cannot believe it's actually happening". And an entire new album to look forward to. I'm thankful beyond words. Their music, joyful or sad, has always made me happy. And this magic is still there. I was born the year their last LP came out, and here I am 40 years later, crying and smiling. Thank you for the Music ABBA. That truly - with you - never ends.

I think this song is the greatest gift ABBA has ever given us. As if they hadn’t given us enough gifts already! Someone commented on here that they’re actually angels. I completely agree.
I totally agree. I think for me it is their greatest song and the performance, words, melody all perfectly combine to make it a masterpiece return song. I cannot stop listening to it.
My dad died this year, he was a huge fan of Abba and he was waiting for this song with a smile on. Now it's been five months since he lost the battle against COVID-19, but I know he is singing this song in heaven.
This song is another masterpiece by ABBA. FRIDA has the most beautiful, irreplaceable and unmatchable voice in the history of pop music. I love this song.
Being an ABBA fan since 1974, 9 years old - this song brought tears to my eyes when I heard and saw it the first time af the Voyage launch! I didn´t think it would ever happen - 40 years after The VIsitors. But it did - and I am simply just so grateful and happy that ABBA gave this to their fans! Thank you so much, ABBA!
I'd say we're twins. I was 9 in 1974 and had all of ABBA's albums on vinyl at one point. When they came back it brought me such happiness, this song brings me to tears as I recall of my love for ABBA. They've done so much for me over the past forty years.

I was panicking and excited at the same time when I heard they were back, I’ve never seen a single released by this group in my lifetime and now I’ll get to have my own ABBA memories, I didn’t want to see them change their style and ruin the massive legacy they have built but as soon as the chorus in this song dropped it was like ‘BAM, WE’RE BACK’ totally hit me right in the heart, they wanted to do this before they die and heal old wounds and show the world their friendship, and wow what a way to do it, most successful comeback ever in my opinion and 40 years waiting! Welcome back ABBA xx
welcome to the late 70s and 82 when they disbanded. As a 50 year old woman and someone who prayed ABBA would release a new album, I can say without abashment, I cried my heart out when they released their 2 new songs....made this whole shit storm of the last almost 2 years almost worth it. And, yes, not a comeback, but a fucking miracle.
I went to their very wet Sydney show with my dad in 1977, I was only 11. Today I cried as I listened to these new songs. I don't know why I cried, the emotion just welled up from inside. In this dark time there was something released, and the tears brought healing in a way that I cannot understand. Thank you!

David, I was at that concert too. Everyone was soaked to the bone but nobody was going home till they'd heard every song! Such a vivid and glorious memory! And today I wept as well. People we loved so much and thought we'd lost forever are back! And so are the fans. Yay!!!! What a great day!
I had tears in my eyes too. They created the soundtrack of my youth. Witnessing that what they are most present to now is the love for each others touched me deeply and even seems to put my own life in perspective. Incredible really
In my lifetime, there will never be another group of entertainers to match ABBA. They have been the quiet storm, the joyous celebration, and the wonderful melody makers for most of my life.
I can not say how emotional this has made me feel. They remain true to their unique style and the angelic voices of Frida and Agnetha are the tonic we need for a broken world. Thank you for the music. A painful 40 year wait has paid off with class and majesty. I love it.
I am sittin under the table💞💞💞

Had a little cry reading that. ABBA transcends everything and just makes people happy.
Thank you for the music.

th-cam.com/video/B4i87ps3mPM/w-d-xo.html LISTEN TO THIS !!!

I'm glad they aren't masking that.and they still sound so powerfull.
Even the Swedish accents are still there. Authentic ABBA :)
Hey, I'm not complaining either. The very fact that you hear the age is a compliment, proving they don't need trickery to sound 'perfect'. 40 years passed but they still sound like that? 🙌
“Slightly worn, but dignified”
Seeing this in concert was such a cool experience

I went to ABBA Voyage on October 3th, it was magic, I got so emotional, it brought me to tears, a piece or art!!!
The joy is massive and the only question is "why so late" :)
Benny & Björn has never stopped composing and writing. Both Frida and Agnetha had solo careers after ABBA.

They even didn't change physically...
Very well said. But reading so many positive comments from young people also make wonder that this instant success may mean that all these last decades there was nothing similar quality coming

@@JesusMagicPanties What an incredibly supportive strategy. 👏
