    Jennifer we are a small country and we have a lot of homeless immigrants on the streets and some are living in very poor accommodation. We have a serious housing crisis and while you will find hardcore homeless people in every country. We now have very decent immigrants sleeping rough because they can't afford to rent. Irish people have no mercy when it comes to people who rent and Ireland's uncontrolled housing market is exploiting young Irish people and the ongoing influx of immigrants. This is not a country where renting is a long-term option. When the wicket winds from the west blows and it surely will as night follow day. The Irish government will allow every renter along with a good few Irish to be blown out of this country. Most immigrants would want to have a good job and strive hard to buy a house or God help them when the time comes if they don't have family support.

    • @lizze8262
      @lizze8262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well said! I'm Irish and couldn't agree more!!! People from abroad seem to think that Ireland is Disney Land - and it probably could be - if it wasn't for successive governments destroying the place.
      Now, after welcoming thousands upon thousands of unfortunate Ukrainian refugees the government is in panic mode because they didn't think that they would have to support them with homes, schools, medical, etc., etc. What a nightmare! Things can't get much worse.. or can they...?

    • @JenniferEstella
      @JenniferEstella  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not only happening in Ireland, but all over the world. Ireland is lucky enough because there are people all over the world who want to live here, and contribute as part of the working class. Working in your hospitals, in offices, providing services that Irish people are not able to do. Can you imagine not having immigrants here in Ireland?

    • @JenniferEstella
      @JenniferEstella  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have so much respect to the Irish government and other EU countries who are helping the Ukranian refugees in this trying time. How can one enjoy a sumptuous meal when you see your neighbors starving and homeless?

    • @lizze8262
      @lizze8262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JenniferEstella Do you really believe that the natives will care about their imigrant neighbours when they themselves are struggling to survive?? I am not being cruel here, just a realist. The point is that the "working class" cannot afford to live in Ireland due to the high cost of living. Give it another couple months and watch the rents shoot up again thanks to yet another government "adjustment". Anyone thinking that Ireland is the land of milk and honey really should start reading between the lines of all those fairytales they have been told. If you still want to give it to a go then be sure to have good financial support behind you for when the going gets tough. Best of luck. 👍

    • @peterdoyle1591
      @peterdoyle1591 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JenniferEstella Immigrants are very good for Ireland. Immigrants are very good for every country. The problem is housing and renting in Ireland at the moment. The problem is not that the homeless are going hungry there are plenty of places where they can get free food. But decent homeless immigrants run the risk of falling into bad company and end up on drugs and that is the problem if they are on the streets too long. The Irish government is the cause of the problem because they are not putting a cap on rents and building enough affordable housing.

    My son used to work for a big Accounting firm Grant Thornton in Belfast and they were excellent to their employees with plenty of breaks during the day and sleep pods where they could go for 40 winks. And because he used to come home to Donegal at weekends they used to let him work until 4pm on Friday so he could catch the only coach home. He loved it and it gave him a great work ethic. Although he's moved on to a completey new job. He loves to work I'm very proud of the young man he's turned out to be, well in fact I'm proud of my 5 young adult children who all work have degrees ( although that's not the bee all of everything) but I couldn't be a prouder mammy. Pls reply, what job can I do in Ireland until I become old enough to be able to apply as mature appicant at university? I don’t have enough points, and I am from Italy. I am currently 20 yo, going to be 21 in November. I already dropped out 2 times from university now including the year 2023-2024 because of verbal abuse from parents and big brother but they deny it, their words affected my mind when studying. I am no failure, I have the drive to achieve great things but they used the only bad moment when I became weak in math to discourage me, belittle me, make me think I am finished. Don’t blame me. When I told them I wanted to go to UCD as it is a prestigious university for economics and finance and from there I would have been able to do the Masters at an even better University but that I would have had to wait until 23 yo, my father immediately said “Bullshit, it’s just an excuse to not study”. Now if take into consideration this idea regardless of what my parents say, I would have to work in Ireland until then, because my parents won’t let me stay at home. I have a little business too, that could make big money. Would you say it would be good to wait until I am 23 yo to be able to enter university without needing their required points? What work can I do until then in Ireland? What do I do?

    10:40 not really much relevant. Actually misleading to say it’s the only English speaking country in Europe (UK:hello) even though you mentioned later in EU, but in your writings you just mentioned in Europe. By the way, lots of countries in Europe speak English well even though it’s not the native language owing to the fact that they are now global cities (meaning lots of workers/residents coming from different countries) so English is commonly spoken.

    • @JenniferEstella
      @JenniferEstella  ปีที่แล้ว

      Fyi, Malta is another English speaking country in EU. I did not mention UK because of Brexit- it’s even more difficult to immigrate in UK now.
      True, other EU countries speak English but if you want to move there to work, you better learn to speak the native language. Why? Best example is Germany, a lot of people speak English in Berlin but if you work in Finance, their invoices are in Deutsch so good luck getting a job.
      I’ve also travelled in a number EU countries, and I can tell you so many stories when language is a barrier, even for tourists. 🫠

    We are from another country me and my hubby, when we meet strangers all we want is to have good manners and be respectable, but most people are very rude here and sad and we don't receive back the kindness, it honestly can just ruin a day... I wonder if Ireland could be our call, it feels like they are very empathetic and might take our positivity well, it sounds like a dream honestly. Being encouraged and accepted is something we actually lack in our own country even though we were born here, but maybe it's possible to find elsewhere. I wish our future kid could experience an environment growing up like that instead. Thank you for sharing your experiences (including the not so lovely ones)!

      I know right! But to give a bit more context. In the Philippines, most outdoor jobs are not considered to be prestigious. So if you have darker skin, people assume that you work outdoors. This is why people prefer to have fair skin to avoid being regarded as such.
      In the west, it’s the opposite. If you’re tan, it means you have the money to go on holidays.
      Interesting world right!

There’s also a minimum gross salary required to be eligible for critical skills permit. 1- Im Portuguese ( European ) Am im free to move to Ireland without any major immigration documents?
    2- I was thinking of start sending resumes about 3 months in advance before i move in , so im moving to Ireland in May i was thinking of start sending online resumes or phonecalls around February , is that ok or too early?
    3- What kind of resume/CV do irish accept? i make my own in Work or there's an App?
    4- how do i transfer my savings to an irish bank account?
    5- Is it ok to reserve/ book housing 2/3 months in advance ?
    Those are my questions love , im really excited about going to ireland and starting a new life , i viseted ireland last month to get a feel of what its like and i loved it , friendly open minded people , organized place , clean , im choosing Cork as my new residence :)

    • @Kitiwake
      @Kitiwake ปีที่แล้ว

      My good deed of the week..
      1..yes ..
      2..12 months in advance is ok too.
      3.. There are TH-cam videos by Irish recruitment specialists/agencies.
      Do what they say.
      4 .. You don't need to... If it's an EU bank treated the same. On this point Irish banks have a government guarantee on savings up to €100k. Check bank charges. General current a/c charges are around €65 annually. Just a couple of things to check. To open a bank a/c in Ireland you'll need your passport and usually one utility bill showing your address*, usually within the last 3 months. The bank will tell you about other alternatives.
      5.. If you manage to find a place to live (note "if") the day you book it and pay the deposit is the day the lease agreement starts. Be aware that a place to live in Ireland is a total rat race. Once you have a lease, you're protected by a complicated legal rule system which is even beyond me to explain.
      Good luck on the last point... Which should be your first point.
