I’m noticing a pattern Aslan took on a character like God the Father in the Magician’s Nephew and as Jesus Christ in the Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe. The Great Lion will probably take on a persona representing the Holy Spirit in the rest of the series. If not then I notice a lot of biblical overtones in this series.
That's by design. And yes, Aslan is meant to represent the various forms of the Christian God. C.S. Lewis drew on biblical stuff for a lot of this series and it shows.
I feel his trying time being chased by talking magical animals was a just punishment for treating Digory and Polly so horribly. he was certainly a wicked son of Adam

About the first pairs of animals that Aslan chose to talk, I feel like Frank and Helen are not the only pair of Adam and Eve of Narnia.
