      @@daviddorado5632 will still work but you risk dust and dirt getting under it and breaking the LCD and you also risk the glass randomly falling off because it is not secured properly

    People need to realise that without a freezing machine which uses liquid nitrogen or another expensive machine which I can't be bothered to describe, this man has just done a first on TH-cam. It looks a mess but it's a job well done, trust me. Even with the expensive machines a screen this smashed is going to be a messy job at the point of removing glass and glue. I'd trust him to repair my S7edge.👏👏👏👏👏👏

    If you are watching this video please do not attempt to remove the glass using this stupid method. Apply heat first to the glass so that the octopus glue softens then remove the glass slowly. Removing the glass using this method will either scratch the lcd or damaged the touch sensors.

    • @nickspace6230
      @nickspace6230 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      screen protectors do not protect your screen from drops. The glass cracks from drops on the corner of the phone. Screen protectors do not increase the structural integrity of the glass, a hit in the right spot will crack it either way. In the old days when phone screens were plastic a protector would protect it from getting scratched and scuffed but now a-days they are just expensive pieces of glass that you put on top of glass. You are a moron for buying a thin piece of glass and putting it on top of more glass and thinking its going to protect your screen. if you drop your tv on the corner do you think having a piece of glass glued to it is going to keep it from cracking? or a picture frame with more glass glued to the front dropped on its corner will not shatter if dropped on its corners. People are morons for spending money on this stuff and thinking it will do anything.

      do you heat it gently or more than it looks its needed? I ask because I removed the back cover of a S6 and I had to heat it a lot, but on this case I guess too much heat could damage the screen

  • @daveed1797
    @daveed1797 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME. ITS EASIER TO REMOVE THE BACK AND THE MOTHERBOARD AND THEN WHEN U BUY A NEW SCREEN, BUY IT INSTALLED ON THE FRAME ALREADY. THAT WILL BE 100 TIMES EASIER. WAY LESS RISKY. LESS MONEY SPENT GOING THIS ROUTE THEN STILL DOING IT AGAIN BECAUSE THIS GUY LED YOU IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. I KNOW THE OUTER GLASS IS CHEAPER TO BUY BUT INSTALLING IT YOU WILL BREAK YOU LCD.
    CHEAPEST ROUTE IS TO BUY A TEMPERED GLASS SHIELD AND PUT IT ON TOP OF THE BROKEN SCREEN.
    THE LCD WOULD BREAK FOR MOST ALL PEOPLE. IDK HOW USING A METAL PIECE LIKE THAT U DIDN'T BREAK THE LCD. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE WHO DOSEN'T KNOW THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE.

    • @daveed1797
      @daveed1797 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mohd Noor Abu Bakar the best method is to buy a new lcd/oled screen and frame. And remove your motherboard from your current phone. Much safer. This guy in the video is scamming for clicks.

  • @wolfgangh.4401
    @wolfgangh.4401 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I would like to try to remove the glass as well. My question is why you need to open the phone at the back and partly disassemble it. Maybe to avoid yo damage the batterie under uv-light or that glue is running on the lense of the camera??? It would safe a lot of time if it is not neccessary to open the phone.

    it looks easy but its far away from easy :)
    its recommended before u try it at home to have the 280€ if u fail to get a new display if u cant afford a new phone...
    i did it on my own, its much more easy to brake the glass more so that u dont have that large pieces like he does in the video, u can find the glue in every drugstore (girls use it for their nails) :D if u dont wanna buy a UV lamp on ur own just go to the next nail studio and ask them to use their lamp for a couple of minutes like i did :P
    order the glass on ebay or amazon 10-20€... so its a much cheaper way yes but u can mess it up anyway i aint lucky to live in a city where u can only replace the glass the only thing they can offer me is to replace the display i think we all have the same problem and if i need to decide 30€ for a try or 280€ for a new display i will try it and if i mess it up yeah then lets just replace the display so do that only if u have the money for a new display or u can get a new phone :)
    gl :P

      It's not demonstrated in this video, but usually you would use a what gun to warm the glue up underneath the screen. In which case, you really should be taking the back of the phone off and removing the battery and logic board so you don't risk toasting anything important.

    if your only replacing the glass and not the LCD, why take the back off and unhook and remove everything? couldn't you just remove the glass and glue and simply add a new glass?

    • @wilhelmtomasi6415
      @wilhelmtomasi6415 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He had to remove the front camera to prevent glue from touching it. It can only be done by removing the back panel.

      It's not LCD, it's amoled. Also I don't know how he did that without damging the panel.

    • @Nocturnal_Owl
      @Nocturnal_Owl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Christian L Generally speaking, oled panels are flexible so it'd hard to break them by flexing them a little. My only concern is that, if you'd to apply pressure in a small area you'd most certainly break it.

    • @OfficialDjNaijal

      Really? Could you tell me please how? My fucking glass has been broken and I'm kind of desesperated to fix it, I won't be able to buy a new phone until January and the new screen on Samsung customer centers cost about 300 dollars

    • @nevermoreever2
      @nevermoreever2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CharlesManson03 a screen replacement honestly looks easier and less likely to damage the screen than trying to only replace the glass. Just search screen replacement and there's a 10 min video (and others) explaining how to do it. And how a heat gun works should be rather explanatory in it self.

    Good effort but you damaged the AMOLED (black halfmoon) in the upper left corner, which can be seen @ 2:11, so i wouldnt call it a success. Next time heat the whole screen to 85-90 degree celsius - it would be much easier. Dont forget to re-heat every several minutes. Also use of metal plate is inappropriate. To prevent damage to touch sensitive layer do it with some hard plastic. good luck!
