From the very first moment my mouth and eyes were wide open and I was not able to move, not even when wanting to rewatch a point. This match is so incredibly intense!!! I respect both players for staying in this until the very last set.
liang has surely worked on his foot work , and not just relying on his back hand to win rallies . footsteps of fan zhendong i would say , beating fan and then d show man , cloud walker ..big salute to his determination
Xu Xin, even though you lost in the final, you are still my idol in table tennis. You chose the most entertaining and risky style in table tennis. You dare to stand out among the crowd who play more like women's table tennis with less FH swing. Your FH loop is among the most enjoyable moments in table tennis.
This is the purest form of the game. True grit and spirit by both players. LJK man you won the game with you never back down attitude and were graceful to do the exhibition. LJK always had the competent technique to beat the top guys, but was overshadowed by the FZD competition. Well deserved win. Xu Xin, you always win our hearts, no matter what. This is what we live for. Jiao !!
Wow.Didnt see this one coming. Nice to see a new champ. Congrats Liang. And i like how he opens the set with a massive 5-0 lead and does the same in the last set only this time he continues to widen the gap to lead. That's a dangerous player.
@@TopFearless not only technique matters... and also concerning technique I can say he has troubles with serve receiving, with the touch (while playing short on the table), reloop. Of course on that level. I mean he is a good player but not ehough for being in China team 1.
Best performance of LJK. Congratulations!. For Xu Xin, he really has problems with strong backhand, close to table, player. His weak backhand is his deadly weakness.
Totally agreed. He never should've give up on the traditional backhand, it's way better to push the ball. If I can use both shoto and RPB, certainly can he also.
The people who can't distinguish between Jingkun's screams and Harimoto's shouts have really hit rock bottom, so let me explain this to you imbeciles: Jingkun only started screaming in the final set, when everything was intense. He was fighting for everything that has been leading up to this. Sure there were some chos here and there but almost every player does that and it's not that much of an ear-rape. Harimoto on the other hand just cho's every single point he gets. At 1-0 game one he'll just cho like there's no tomorrow. He could just do the usual chos like everyone else but instead he sticks to his usual '10-10 game seven'-cry on a 3-2 point lead in game 1.
I myself as a table tennis player shouts only in scenarios like LJK did. But that doesn't give us any reason to belittle Harimoto. It's natural for players to shout only when the game gets intense, but for Harimoto he has to treat every point so much more importantly than other players. He's only fifteen!!! Without shouting to boost his confidence, he'll definitely lose out to his opponents who have more experience and have better skills than he does. Harimoto is a respectful player, in fact one of the most respectful ones out there. He never celebrates a lucky point, and would always apologise. The only difference between LJK's shouts and Harimoto's is when they do it. They both do it for the same reason.
nowadays seem like almost Chinese player ve not screamed many times like before, they only scream after win important point. Good performance along with manner. respect!
Xu Xin lost this match, because his mordern backhand strokes are NOT STABLE. Xu Xin improves his backhand, but still OFTEN MAKES UNFORCED ERRORS WITH BACKHAND STROKES. Besides, in final last set, Liang screaming really gave him a tiny reinforcements and concentrations . No problem with screaming. It is funny. Liang scream very loud. It no probolem, too, because it is the final match without other matches in neighbor tables. But, if there are a lot of matches at the same times, then it should restirct volume of screamings, so that neighbor matches are not bothered. One time, i watched youtube ITTF clip of match without Harimoto. But i could heard very clearly Harimoto screamings in some unknow neighbor tables.
Xu Xin is no 2 ! He doesn't rely on his backhand to win. He wins mostly with his forehand and give less chance for opponent to use their backhand, same as Ma Lin. If the best backhand have no chance to come into play is same as no backhand. Only their top team mates can beat them.
LJK here has done what ZJK did many times in the past: reveal XX's weakness. LJK used the same tactic and got about a quarter of his points this game. Good job to him!
I've been watching liang for a while. I've seen him dominate most of the top players for a set or maybe two. But then he ends up losing the match. Glad to see him finally make it over the hurdle. I'd love to see a total log jam with the top 5-10 or even to 20 players. I don't want to know automatically who is going to win. The more competition, the more interesting.
One if the best matches of 2018!!!! WOW this was amazing! And what good sport from XX, what a play from Liang! WOW I have no words. Though one thing is for sure, LJK->LGY
I don't know about anyone else, but I find those chos at the last game very moving. They somehow show how much it's taken LJK to get to that stage. Added to that, Xu Xin's exhibition point was just the right way to adknowledge it.
Wow. He had beaten World #1 and 2 in succession. In tennis I can't imagine World #80 can beat Nadal or Federer. But, here in table tennis Liang had achieved that. Wonderful.

Right now The Dragon Dictator does not seem to be in good shape and let's see if he will be fit enough by the time 2020 Olympics arrive as they are still quite far away. The CNT won't send him if there is so much as a neck injury let alone a knee problem. As Lin Gaouyan is unable to produce any significant result now and assuming he doesn't come back in the future it will either be Liang Jingkun or Xu Xin next to FZD. And I am simply rooting for Xu Xin to recover this loss against him and fight for a place at 2020. Either way, anything can happen in a year and a half so let's see who rises to the top of CNT and I believe with a stronger RPB Xu Xin can surely make a good point :)
Congrats to Liang Jingkun. However, I do feel Xu Xin is really trying to improve his backhand usage. Even though his game winners are still from forehand, he probably feels it is necessary to start using backhands more in tournaments to really start improving. Either way, watching Xu Xin play is always enjoyable!
Yeah, I don't like him playing around saying he wants to go for Tokyo 2020, The kids are stepping up, Ma and Xu are still around to lead them, he's not really needed
LJK reminds me of Wang Hao, sturdy build, but his strokes is alike Chen Qi, not powerful but rather fast. XX still needs time to build up in the rally; something that did not change, but the way he is behind the table and return the ball is as amazing as usual.
