No matter what size the 100's are, 250 or 400, That SOUND is going to be CLEAR, BALANCED and QUALITY. Great to see the legacy of Dr. Foster continuing through our younger generation! Keep it up Doc, let's take it to the next level for 2020!
Thank you for that because these bands these days don't know what a good band is, they think because a band is instructed to blow their instruments loud it sounds good...IT DOESN'T! Band isn't even band anymore at some of these HBCU, it's who can play the loudest and it sounds horrible.

FAMU gave a great performance. The formations and musicianship were outstanding. Jackson State , Grambling ,and NC A&T were great also. FAMU was outstanding but all the HBCU’s great. THE 2020 HBOB was super.. FAMU was best because of their entrance and exit of the field! I am aTalladega College grad so I have no bias towards the fantastic eight HBCU bands🎼
This band is " MUSICALLY CORRECT & HONORS THE NOTES IN MUSIC " ! People with a background in music know exactly what I'm talking about . Their concert bands sound incredible !
I watch every band and have to say Famu took this one hands down .....every other band i was trying to figure out what they were playing at times i didn't have that problem listening to Famu.....Salute to the 100 on the win.....yall deserve it...
I said the same thing watching live. And Mercedes Benz sound quality is bad so imagine if it was better how much better they would have sounded. They were the only band getting applause throughout the entire performance
I like this FAMU band. The sound is more balanced and smoother than I can remember from the pre comeback versions. Not as loud but just nicer IMO
Joe V the volume and quality of sound is going to increase as they are able to retain their upperclassmen. That had been a real issue ( retention) .... if the can build on this and add some trumpets ..... 2020 will be super competitive
I was there live and their band was the clearest and most precise. They focused on the music and their formations were sick. They killed that I285 formation. They did that without having their dancers or Venom there versus the other schools had alot going on with the dancers and just theatrics. They all did well but FAMU really killed it.

HBCUs don't need microphones. I really believe it takes away from the sound quality. Good job FAMU... from an old school Juke.

When my students ask me what HBCU band is the best I SCREAM FAMU! They always sound great, rehearse great, and produce a quality that is rivaled by none in the HBCU world. I always enjoy seeing their shows. RESPECT!

wildcat77 As a Alumnus I’m very aware this isn’t the 1st time nor will this be the last. But my comment was to raise awareness of them doing it. It’s quite easy to miss it watching a video as oppose to watching them in person.

I remember my freshman year at BCC 1990 I was one of 12 tubas and y'all had damn near 44... We had ROCK Power@ 12 sounded Amazing and you guys did the same thing Great Job... Sounded like 12 Killer Whales Blowing!!!! I Love Some FAMU!!!!

Damn, sounds like the concert band! The tonality and balance is exceptional! So good to hear woodwinds. This sound is so well controlled. Exceptional job FAMU! Definitely my favorite this year!
All I gotta say is the tubas and the trombones mean business 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥..... if they can retain and add onto this foundation this will make 2020 one of the most interesting versions of the 100 ever. They on the right track just turn up the intensity and the energy.
Also, it’s good for the 100 to see other good HBCU bands. It’s keeps them focused on being on point and it adds the much needed diversity. The only thing missing from the lineup was Southern and Cookman. I look forward to seeing what everybody will bring to the table next year. Shout out to JSU , they had an amazing year this year ....... no cap

The crowd was weak at the end. They deserved a standing ovation! FAMU never played around. Check out some of the old footage of them in the 70-80’s.

They should sound nice, shit...........it's not like they MARCHED or did DRILLS UP and DOWN the FIELD 🤔🤔🤔🤔. They MARCHED, got in CONCERT FORMATION (STOPPED) and played song's and it's not like they had girls dancing, for that REASON and it's not 2009/2010...........when they had 400+ on the field??? Their field show was the WEAKEST in that DOME today😂😂😂

Poor recruiting. When I marched in the 100 it was dozen or more but idk now.
@@AC-ir3od it's not poor recruiting this their last year under sanctions so they didnt have the money to put into scholarships. Their recruitment is about to go back up. They already have their band camps and tryouts lined up for spring.

They have two dance lines that dance during games on the side. They focus on just the band in their performances bc dancers sometimes take away from music and attention away from band

Idk i was expected more, this is they biggest performance of the year. This performance was them coming back after they were suspended 10 whole years a decade, And they come with recycled material from past performances from throughout the year. But hey great job guys.
The band is only allowed a limited amount of practice time since these kids are at the University to graduate first and foremost. School is their priority. Not coming up with new shoes on the fly. For what they've accomplished with new rules, they had a stellar season and put on a phenomenal show.
I'm sure other bands in attendance had ample free time to come up with a new show just for Honda. Yet they were all still mediocre. Says a lot about the caliber of students in the Marching 100.
They need dancers. That will spice up this band. But we all know famu dont incorporate them cause it's part of their tradition. But this band sound good though. ❤ I will say dat.
The band is the dancers, they are dancing the entire performance the literally start with a dance break at the beginning and end with dance routine. The only band to do that

@@andrewdungey7998 The Marching 100 are the ORIGINATORS of HBCU Bands. Everyone else doesn't look right with dancers. Honestly, the only bands that look good with dancers are Southern and Jackson. All HBCU band programs are just carbon copies of FAMU and Southern.
@@th3livinglegend I feel Alcorn and Alabama does as well & they have A LOT of reviews & fans. 👍 I'm not saying that Famu not wrong for having dancers cause it's not their type of style. I understand exactly what's going on & by them trying to keep their tradition going. Really don't have to be like the others when u have ur own style. 👍 I was just saying
