4 years ago we transitioned our "pea gravel" garden to all green with accents of lime using Hydrangeas, a few Hostas, Limetime Coleus and a variety of Ferns. Flowering accents are limited to whites and blues. The peacefulness of this garden nourishes my spirit beyond measure! Because this space encircles our Garden Room and, adjoins our deck, we benefit from this transformation inside and out year round. I look forward to seeing how your garden evolves this Spring and Summer. It will surely be lovely whatever you do 💚

When it comes to color, I am lacking in courage but really appreciate your bold style and the way you mix colors and patterns. I am going all green in my backyard with pops of white and purple in the summer. It is truly peaceful. Whatever you decide will be magical.

I like how you’re taking the time to live in your house before hanging art and styling furniture tops. It’s nice to see how much you’ve improved upon what’s already there. Those curtains will look good in there (the winter ones ) that you showed the darker ones. Looks nice in there that table looked so cute that you painted that dark purple color. I want a native art painting now yours are so cool looking all your native/vintage art. Can’t wait to see all the tulips when they bloom

It’s a vote for all green here, the house is quite busy with the small brick and the different materials with the landscaping so I think it would balance it out and make it feel calming, cohesive and less cluttered.

LOVE the breakfast room! Some things are worth the splurge. I don’t think you’ll be fully satisfied with the space unless you go with the HoH fabric. I think you’ll get years of enjoyment out of the investment. I’ve wasted money settling and replacing things over the years whereas my passionate artsy. splurge pieces have endured. Love watching you make the house your own. ❤

The paint color is very pretty. For the drapes, I like the swatch that was laying underneath the paint sample. The one that looked like it was part of a picture frame. The other choices seemed way too busy with all of the different colors. Also, would stay consistent with the natural wood finish on the trim with the rest of the house even if it wasn’t original. 😊

Syd, I love the fabric for the drapes, just fab! I love a home with color, so boring to see so many white neutral homes. While they are beautiful, I most definitely want and love color! I love all the colors you use, and your design ideas are gorgeous. I love the scatter rugs used with that gorgeous sisal runner rug. I personally like the layered effect better than one long rug by itself.
PS ….when we lived in a house we had an area of just pea gravel where the dogs did their “ business “ saving our beautiful green grass.

I love the bold color choices you are making in this room. Question, the double window you said will not be painted, but the trim will? I think that would look good. And when the tag came up: "follow me to learn more about precise hanging skills, fashion and hairstyles," I busted out laughing...love it! The table is PERFECTION. And yes to the lime green, it is a great color.

Roman shades take a lot less fabric-they would look good on the double windows and keep the panel drape for the door😊😊😊

For a rug in the long, slim room with fireplace, you might consider 2 matching or very similar rugs placed end to end (with maybe 6” between them). Would perhaps be an easier solution than trying to find one long rug and the look can be quite interesting. Everything you’re doing looks so unique and beautiful. Have fun with it all!

Wow, the fireplace room is looking gorgeous! The white paint on the walls gives it such a fresh, clean background for your artwork. Did you paint your living room as well? For what it's worth, I love the two rugs over the jute rug. If you don't happen across the correct size antique/vintage rug, the room looks beautiful as is.

Sydney - your home is beautiful - you have an incredible sense of style and color. I was wondering about the floors and trim in your home - I have the exact same floors and trim in my home (1952) but I have never been able to find the exact name of the stain on both the floors and the trim - I heard mention of Mahogany but that may be a generic term as some Mahogany color stains I've seen are darker than mine or yours. If you know please share - thanks so much!
