I remember the first time I saw a vehicross I completely lost my mind. Such a beautiful machine.
Today was my first time seeing one and I fell in love
It's such a weird little SUV, but nobody can deny that the styling was striking. I was really tempted to try to get one back in the day, but the dealer was asking more than I had and enough more that they'd never be willing to come down enough on the price to make it happen. A shame, too, since it was yellow, which I think is the best color in that car.
With the rise of crossovers now, I hope Isuzu comes up with a new crossover now which is this good!

I really miss roadkill and Dirt every day, always put me in a good mood when i saw a new episode uploaded. Something to watch on a quiet evening.
I had an ironman edition vehicross. I loved that suv. It was great off-road, got decent mpg and was quick. It was hard to see out the rear and the red seats were hideous, but was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Small like a jeep, and futuristic for the time. So sad when it was stolen, very few were brought to the US and difficult to find
I remember back in the day when you could sit back and watch the dirt heads hit the trails on a full episode, 3 beer worth episodes.
This car was designed by the same guy that designed the GTR. It was very innovative and was ground breaking at the time. Still better off road than most of today's crossovers.

Loved this episode! To be honest, it went by too fast and I would love to see more of the Isuzu in the future. I hope Fred and Dave kept it as a future ultimate adventure vehicle or at least one to have back of Dirt Every Day.

I used to go offroading in my basically stock VX with the local Land Rover club in Uwharrie. Was able to do every obstacle they were without assistance. It's a very underrated little truck.

Something isn't working, the traction control should be sending torque to the wheels with grip. This thing didn't even need lockers because of how good the 4wd system was.

Legend has it they are still trying to get through that boulder field to this very day.

Plenty available in the $4-6K range..not collector cars..doubt they ever will be except maybe "The Pearl" which was the last one built...Or "The Ghost"..a 99 with about 350 miles, yup..350.

These (and the Troopers they were based on) defy conventional IFS expectations... and you can get lockers for the front, too, for those that want to get serious.
@@Gotdurt Agreed. I have a 1990 Trooper with ARB's front and rear. They are great cheep trucks. Basically like a 4 Runner or Cherokee but 1/4 the cost used. I paid $850 CDN for my first but it was a farm truck and the frame was bad. Paid 500 for my second one that was undercoated when new and it has a mint frame so I swapped all my parts from the first one to my second one.
@@Gotdurt I've had a 92 Amigo for many years. Even in stock form (with bfg all terrains) it did surprisingly well. Built solid, and decent drivetrain. Salty winters have taken their toll, but I still drive it today.

My first car was a 91 amigo and it was kinda like a crazy girlfriend. It didn't always do what I expected but it rocked my world.
The Vehicross is the best looking SUV of the old days. My car of choice for mad-max post-apocalyptic vehicle.

The Isuzu Bersamax was a beast that wwas just way ahead of it's time and poorly marketed, couple that with no back seat passenger access, unless you're under 10, it was doomed. I'm still searching for one to snag, just missed one on CoPart a few months back that wertn for 1200 bucks.

I live in California, they just passed a new law January 1st, that if your exhaust is modified in anyways it’s a $1,000 fine and it’s not a correctible offense. I had no idea this was even on the books, I was shocked!!! The reasoning is to cut down on the illegal racers blah blah, just the stupidest thing I ever heard!!! I’m still gonna mod my exhaust and enjoy my cars, but I think the whole community around the country should know about this, there is a petition everyone is signing. CA man geez!! I need to get out of here!!!

Those old Isuzu trucks are epic! Take decent GM engineering and add old Japanese guys fixing all the sloppy manufacturing problems and you have a scrappy Japanese American SUV that refuses to die or get stuck. These things were a swan song to a great company that brought GM the duramax.

It actually pains me to see what they did with this Vehicross. Joe Isuzu would be turning in his grave if he were dead, those are actually quite rare and they were really expensive when new and I have to think pretty collectible now. They have to be one of the coolest SUVs that Isuzu ever made.
