Julie and the Phantoms are more than just actors singing songs onscreen - they're actually a real band.
The new Netflix series, based on the Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas, stars Madison Reyes as 15-year-old Julie, a talented singer who lost her passion for music after her mother died. But when she discovers the three ghosts of Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada), teenage rock stars who died in 1995 right before they were about to hit it big (all thanks to some bad hot dogs, natch), they decide to form a band. Luke, Alex, and Reggie help Julie rediscover her love of music while Julie gives the guys an opportunity to achieve the fame they were robbed of when they died, because the world can only see and hear them while they're playing with Julie.

He's 21 and she's 16!! They wrote the song from Luke and Julie's pov. As nice as it might be to think they are more they are not! They are amazing friends and Charlie thinks of her as a little sister.

I couldn't help watching his facial expressions whenever Maddie would speak and vice versa. It's obvious they both have appreciation and respect for each. I love it and was blushing for them. She's very mature for her age too. #TeamJuke
I noticed that he almost said "write a love song" then automatically changed it to "jam" and also in the end when he got nervous trying to answer the question about what he was hoping to see between Julie and Lukeʻs relationship. I was literally talking to my screen saying SAY IT CHARLIE SAY ITTTTT and he said "well whatever the fans want to see." THEY BOTH KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANS BY THAT LOL. I think itʻs so wholesome the way Madison gets all giggly when Charlie talks about her or Juke. I love them so much, I canʻt wait for season 2, but in the meantime, I will be rewatching the series a million more times

The way Madison also caught Charlie almost saying “love song” and started smiling and giggling, lmao. She’s so cute! I love their genuine and pure connection. You can see how much respect and love they have for each other. Their friendship is everything!❣️

I love how they became a band as well and not just actors, this show wouldn't be as great with other people to play them. The songs are amazing
Honestly loved the cast you can tell you all became family. Please bring on season 2. Julie and Luke chemistry was amazing and the bands connection was great. You all did so well in your roles

i know everyone is saying they want them to kiss but i'm really glad they didn't and that they don't for season 2 because almost every classic teen show/movie has them kiss. but by not kissing, they're not rushing the relationship and we can see them develop as individuals and together.

Plus Charlie and Madison's age gap is about 5 years apart. She's still a minor so they can't kiss on the show. You do have a point about Juke not rushing their ship

It’s not like they have real genuine feelings for each other in real life y’know? being an actor u gotta do what ur supposed to do and Charlie and madds signed up for that knowing it’s gonna happen either way. Obviously it would be disgusting if they dated irl because she’s obviously a minor but when it comes to acting it’s fine because they’re doing it for the show not for themselves. Julie is 16 while Luke is 17 so in the show it’s totally fine because they’re considered Julie and Luke while ACTING.
@@tsukiru1225 I don’t agree because the kissing would be inappropriate. There’s a 6 years age gap and Madi is still 16. Madi wants Luke and Julie to have a slowburn and more emotional connections with people rather than physical. They wouldn’t want to kiss on screen and the crew of JATP take their opinions and feelings seriously. They won’t force them to do anything they don’t want to do

I had so much fun watching then re-watching (and re-watching) this show! The first show in a while that I have wanted to experience over and over. I even downloaded the soundtrack because it's THAT good. Great job to all of you and I can't wait for a Season 2 (hint hint Netflix!)

I hadn't been on Netflix for a while! and the one time I decide to go on, I saw this show. I didn't know anything about this show but somehow I was drawn to it, and just knew this was going to be an amazing show! I clicked on it almost as soon as I saw it! I was NOT disappointed this show brought so much more to the table than I was expecting, and the chemistry between all of the actors really shines through in the show. I can't wait to see what this show has to offer in the future, and the relationships in it to blossom.

(btw who else seen charlie not taking his eyes off of Madison while she talks?I know everybodys says that 'hes 21 and shes 16" but theirs just so much love, chemistry, and friendship here, I cant possibly imagine them not being together in real life. This is so rare to see people like this, also I feel like charlie really does like her, like ALOT! He knows if he every said that he would be called so many names. But when Im watching this, it just feels way to real. Who knows, maybe charlie will wait for her until she gets a little bit older

I just realizes that julie and Luke can never kiss because Madison is 16 in real life and Luke is 21 in real life
I don't think that's the issue bc there were a lot of movies where the lead characters kissed despite the age. But a kissing scene for this series would feel too rush esp since Luke and Julie are just discovering their feelings for each other, and Luke haven't even admitted to himself that he likes Julie. So I guess if there was a kissing scene it would be end game already and we won't be expecting much for season 2. It was written that way so that fans can see more of the development of the characters feelings esp Luke. Bc in season 1 Julie's vocal abt her crush for Luke but Luke was a bit in denial.. so yeah, a kissing scene this early on would feel out of place and it's got nothing to do with age gap.
@@loislane9616 I totally agree 100%, maybe they can spend season 2 developing their relationship more and by season 3 maybe there could be a kiss? Bcs usually Netflix shows like these have abt 3-4 seasons only and ending off the show with a Juke kiss would be amazing while making sure that their relationship wasn't rushed and had time to develop and grow
Jocelyn Dang in HSM if I remember correctly, Troy and Gabriela's first kiss was in the 3rd movie. So yeah, slow and steady is the same way to go for #Juke plus I like their friendship too. There's so much to explore in their relationship, a kiss would be a bonus if I may say.
