For the final level, the cloud is the perfect analogue to the original p balloon. since in mm2 the balloon stays until you get hit(yes I know this is mm1 but if they were to make it in 2 they would still need the cloud)
I feel like nobody talks about how the P-balloon in Super Mario Maker 2 is completely different from the P-balloon in Super Mario World. A remake of Tubular actually makes more sense control wise with a cloud than it does with the Super Mario Maker 2 P-balloon.
World is pretty old. Whippersnappers likely haven't had the pleasure like old fogeys such as myself. Not too many whippersnappers, anyway. And even then the P balloon was only in, like, two levels. Maybe 3?
Tubular didn't have a cloud in the original Super Mario World. It had a P-Balloon. I never beat it with the P-Balloon. I always used Blue Yoshi to Eat a Turtle and Fly to the end, because the P-Balloon sucks to maneuver in Tubular, as the Jumping plants also shoot out fireballs, and there's just so much stuff on screen that could hit you, one hit and you're dead.

@@AS34N It immediately disappears if you step on lakitu. The cloud will stay for a little while if you take out lakitu any other way, except with a fireball. If you have a ROM or the original hardware, give it a try. Use a fireball and fly until time runs out. XD
I think the bonus part of that one level was the “hard” portion of the level and you can either take that and get the music or take the easy way and get nothing
I had a music level deleted the same day it was uploaded for containing "a bug" I never found the bug in question, it was just an autoscrolling level where you platform as music plays. I e-mailed Nintendo and their response was generic and unhelpful: "Thank you for writing. Unfortunately, we do not have an appeal process for the removal of Super Mario Maker levels. It's important that we remove levels with bugs quickly, because letting these levels remain in Course World can lead to negative outcomes for many players such as players experiencing levels in unfair ways that the original course creator did not intend, or re-writing "World Record" times. While the bug in your level may not have been apparent during testing, we still need to make sure to ensure that all players experience levels like yours in the way that they were intended. Thank you for your devotion to and belief in Super Mario Maker, and I hope that you continue to make courses and share them with the community." It sucks that there can be false positives that remove legitimately innocent levels, while some very obviously bugged levels evade ever being taken down. Not that this one should have been, it's harmless imo. Personally I think the only bugs that warrant a removal are ones that crash the game.
WTF? At the end of the first run, with the bombs, if you just grabbed that 1-up before going through the keydoor (you only had 2), you would have finished the run with 69 lives. Missed opportunity right there.
