If the performance isnt mindblowing enough consider the fact that he is singing a song in 2 languages that he does not speak.
@@brendaguerin5423 Right because mimicking the sound of a word is relatively easy, understanding its meaning is more difficult and then there is grammar and sentence structure of each language. But in singing its just vowels and consonants. You dont even have to know what the word means, you can determine that by listening to the original song and where the emphasis is. It is still remarkable thing to be able to do and to do it at the level Marcelito does it is just nuts.

The thing that is most amazing to me, is that neither English nor Italian is his native language. In fact, when he appeared later on one of the voice competitions, his wife had to speak for him, his English is really very rudimentary. So he was impersonating not only the notes and the tone but the enunciation of the words as well.

Dimash has been classically trained for years. Marceiltto was self trained Abandoned at 7, lived on streets till he was taken in at 14. His singing was a way to calm himself when scared.
"Voice Shapeshifter" is a good description. Marcelito is the best contemporary falsetto singer I know, even if (unlike Dimash) he doesn't get the attention he deserves. It's no surprise that he won the Got Talent Show in his home country and reached the finals of the Got Talent Champions Show (among ten finalists, he and Angelina Jordan were the only singers).
Except Marcelito seldom uses falsetto. Most critics state that he uses his head voice or a mix of head and chest voice to achieve his "female" register.

I did get to do that to my youngest brother.
He just got off work, he was tired after a long day, my house was closer to his work than his house was, he needed to relax before going home. We were talking and got on the subject of jerks who CLAIM they are 'self-made' but who actually inherited vast amounts of money from their family or were handed everything they ever wanted, versus people who worked hard and pulled themselves up by their boot straps, ACTUAL self-made people.
I was going to introduce my brother to Marcelito's music and tell him about Marcelito's backstory (which really started out very sad but it literally made him the man and the talent that he is now).
My brother was laying on the love seat facing away from my screen and I played this, after explaining that there are some really great impersonators (I said it that way on purpose). He heard this and his eyebrows did not really shoot up until Andrea's part happened; my brother was very impressed by the one impersonator for Andrea, but not really impressed by the other impersonator for Celine. So I agreed with him, them mentioned they were the same person.
"WHAT?"
So of course I showed him the video, explained it was live on the radio when it was recorded and pointed out the Equalizer sitting in the middle of the table, proving that Marcelito was the only one singing or doing anything in that room.
My brother, in his very tired state, had to go home. He was absolutely mind-boggled. The world no longer made sense to him. :D
Hey what is even more impressive is he was self taught and homeless from age 7 and only did the male version later in his late teens :)
As you can hear, Marcelito's quite unpolished gem. That's because man has no formal training or anything. It's pure talent and mimicry. He grew up very poor. Imagine him raised like how Dimash was. Receiving lessons since birth xd.

The backstory on marcelito pomoy from an interview is that he was abandoned by his parents at about age 5. He lived on the streets begging, and music was the only thing to comfort himself with. I think he is amazing!

Between the Wish Bus and the Singer show in China, I’ve found so many incredible singers! It all started with Dimash.😊 KZ Tandingan was on Singer the year after him with Hua Chenyu. She’s Filipina and also performed on the Wish Bus. That’s how I found Mori, Marcelito, EZ Mil, Gary V, and many others. Glad you enjoyed Marcelito!

Try listening to Korean singer Hwang Chi Yeul, he went to China ahead of Dimash then became a Hallyu star after. Hwang Chi Yeul I AM A Singer China and also Immortal Songs in Korea.
No comparison between Dimash and Marcelito. I've listened to both several times, but to me, Dimash is just noise. Marcelito is completely self-taught and puts so much feeling and emotion into his songs.
@@knightdragon5640 I am not a fan Dimash, each song sung is like a vocal acrobatics to him and show off how high and how low he can do it. It gets to be tiring after awhile.

His range is wild. his skill is amazing.
Marcelito's story of being homeless from the age of 7 and doing odd jobs, singing to chickens. Self-taught basically. Aside from the magnificence of the technical aspects, what's more awesome to me is how he FEELS the words. This is partly why I think so many people love this. There are places he does Novello a bit better because of inflection and the same goes for Celine. Tiny inflections where I FEEL that PRAYER! God many times picks the most unlikely, simple or humble persons to teach mankind. God Bless Marcelito.❤

There was a sci fi tv pregram called Babylon 5 back in the late 80s, at the same time the video tape player/recorders were "in Vogue", and in this show, set 250 years in the then future, there were people who were spies and they got trained to remember conversations and repeat them exactly.They were called "Vicars" , a corruption of the phonetic sound of "VCR", as when these people relayed the messages, they actually sounded the same as those who said the talk. This reminded me of that because of the two singer he is doing so close to their sound.

Arab Man, Marcelito takes this song to yet another level in the release of his album, "Duet Yourself". Since it is a tracked recording, he includes all of the harmonies where Bocelli and Dion sing together in harmony. It is quite beautiful with Marcelito singing the lead (Bocelli) in tenor/baritone and the alto harmony (Dion) in countertenor. This song also includes a marvelous background orchestra. Just to say if you don't know. At AGT:Champions, the "50 Superfans" vote gave Marcelito Pomoy preference over Angelina Jordan in the vote between the two. She didn't even finish in the top 5. But anyway, she didn't stand a chance if what I've read is true. It seems that the top five already had a contract with Simon Cowell and his associated companies. Not Angelina, who later signed with Republic Records.
Marcelito did not have a contract with Simon. Both he and Angelina should have been in the top two….just my opinion.
@@jeanlynn8278 It seems you're right. I did a little research and didn't see his name at Syco, Simon Cowell's record company, or Sony, which is affiliated with Syco. My source claimed otherwise but he was obviously wrong. Marcelito Pomoy's last album was released in 2013 on Star Records.
