One time I got a job interview and they tell that in order to get the job I'd have to dye my hair brown (my hair was pink at that time). so I keep it pink, find another job and actually my hair is blonde which is more "natural" BUT I did it because I wanted to. I wish there was a law against discrimination of your image
Jenn Soto I've had pink hair for like two and a half years, and "fashion colors" for about 5. Companies who throw fits over color are so frustrating. They toss out perfectly qualified candidates because the proteins growing from their scalp dont reflect light in a way that pleases the CEO. Even though I've worked at the same place for two years, my boss will still say passive aggressive stuff like "You know, it's so funny when customers compliment your hair because the District Manager really hates it." I have a different manager now than the person who hired me, who said since it's not in the rules, it doesn't matter and that she was fine with it.
Reality check, though, hair is a huge representation of you and your personailty. Unnatural or wildly colored hair immediately labels you as artistic, expressive, and rebellious against the norm. This can be great in certain venues! But it can also unfortunately give a potential employer the fear that you are not the type of person that likes to follow the rules, which is Major when considering hiring somone. Besides, if a manager or company wants to control you to the point of making you alter your appearance in a way you don't like, do you really want to work with them?
Funny thing is...I taught elementary school for a couple of years while having purple, blue, and then green hair. I was hired on as a sub with purple hair, hired on as permanent with blue. The field wasn't for me and now I work at a lab...I have bright red now. 6 years of having "wild" and "unprofessional" hair colors and it's never been an issue. Tattoos ARE still an issue, however. Not in my current field but I did need to cover my one visible one while teaching.
@@AndrewMacLaine my sixth form has basically banned all unnatural hair colours because of that reason, but there is currently a plot a dye hair ginger, luckily as a natural red head, I don't have to really give a crap
I’ve been platinum blonde over 15 years. I love how shocked people are when they see my hair so long healthy and that signature platinum white blonde color.
I've only dyed my hair twice about ten years apart. I've used peroxide lighteners, but never bleach. I'm honestly afraid of hair dye. Probably because my hair is naturally dark (level 2?) And it's very curly coily. I have a hard enough time not damaging it on wash day. 😫
Japan made a hair dye brand called Bigen in the 50s available in six different shades: 1:blue black 2:deep brown 2R:burgundy 3:chocolate 3R:ginger red 4:golden blond
Since Asian hair(typically in Japanese culture) is really dark when bleaching it with peroxide leads to an orange-red shade... Example:Momusu member Mari Yaguchi with strawberry blonde hair
Meagan Wallwork They probably were not able to avoid some scalp burning. She neglected to mention an additional step used with the lye solution: Women wore wide brimmed straw hats with a hole at the top. They pulled their hair out of the hole, spread the hair out on the wide hat brim and THEN put the lye solution on. The heat of the sun sped up the bleaching action and the hat helped to keep the lye away from the scalp, neck and shoulders .
Google the Afar Tribe from Ethiopia, their hair shape favors the drawings/sculptures of Ancient Egyptians. They probably did *not* shave their heads to make wigs.
I don't know, i really want to do it but i'm also afraid that i'll regret it. My family told me to take a chance and live a little (they aren't very strict when it comes to modifications, my mother said she'd even let me get a tattoo if i wanted one) but I've never been the type to do that, so it's a hard decision.
Well i only want one specific color (ginger) and my natural hair color is dark brown, so that might be an issue. I also would never cut it, my hair is the one thing i don't absolutely hate about myself.
But my hair is curly so using bleach will definitely ruin it, it's already a frizzy, splitting, thin mess as it is. I did hear that there's a way to dye hair without using bleach though, so i guess i'll have to look into that. Hopefully there's a better, safer alternative.
Kennedy Jauregui her kidney failure was caused by her having ammonia and bleach on her scalp every week. To maintain her image her stylist would touch up her roots once a week with a mix of lux snow flakes, clorox , ammonia and peroxide
*EnderLord* Well there you have it then. It relates because it’s about dying hair. And if you don’t like that, ignore my comment. I don’t understand why _you_ felt it was necessary to tell me that.
“as you can probably tell by my roots” ahahaha same

+Andrew MacLaine You're right. And since I'm an art student and this job was just a part time, I didn't really take it seriously.

Sohns Teeth she did

How did they soak their hair in lye without burning their scalp??

Prestige's 221 shade(pomegranate) is a bright red(equivalent to 666)
Level:6(dark blonde)
Tone:66(intense red)
Clairol bleach still contains peroxide...
In the 1970s most women dyed their black hair red with henna powder to look more youthful
Ammonia and bleach? Doesn't that make mustard gas?
NO!

I'm scared to dye my hair because i might feel fake, it won't be my natural hair color of course.
Only do it if you're comfortable with it, there's no point changing your appearance is you're not going to feel comfortable with the result.
I don't know, i really want to do it but i'm also afraid that i'll regret it. You can't lift your hair color enough for the ginger to show without bleach and every hair dye from the store has bleach in it.
Jesus christ Jean that wouldn't of helped her kidneys! Poor kid
I dyed my hair like Jean Harlow
Baking soda+Vinegar=White blonde
Isn't it ironic that the girl in the thumbnail is wearing a party city wig
36% of Chinese women dye their hair
Jean Harlow died of kidney failure due to a complications related to childhood scarlet fever. Lost all credibility at that point...
Kennedy Jauregui her kidney failure was caused by her having ammonia and bleach on her scalp every week. To maintain her image her stylist would touch up her roots once a week with a mix of lux snow flakes, clorox , ammonia and peroxide
she speaks really fast... bleee history is fantastic if you can imagine it. Here... she only pass information on.
We are the 70%.

HAIR DYING SHOULD BE BANNED BY LAW. IT'S DISGUSTING!
I WANT TO MARRY A PERSON WHO DOES NOT USE HAIR DYE BECAUSE HAIR DYE IS REPULSIVE. IT'S NOT HEALTHY FOR HAIR.
Stfu I dyed my hair half black half red
PRINCE KRAZIE you're disgusting if you're gonna shame people for having hair dye
PRINCE KRAZIE minecraft should be banned too
it is you who are disgusting-leave other people do what they want
Never dyed my hair and I don’t intend to. I love my shade of brown
Jade Fields boring, if u ask me
Pink Spirit I didn’t ask for your opinion. At least I don’t look idiotic with neon hair or something.
Pink Spirit Is hair supposed to be entertaining?
Jade Fields I don't understand the purpose of your comment. It has nothing to do with the video aside from it being about hair.
