I love this song and that it was written for Mary Austin. He was in love with her however sexually he was never going to feel satisfied with her because she was a woman hence why the secret love affairs with men started. (Although his friends did say that they did make love when they was a couple ) He was emotionally connected with her and she was the love of his life but he was gay. People say he was bisexual for this but sexually freddie was not satisfied by women so he was really homosexual though he never felt like discussing it. But you know sometimes the heart doesn’t really see whether you’re a girl or a boy which was clearly Mary and Freddie’s situation.
