Lily's entire hang up with Simon in Infinity Train was that people like/sympathize with him (a white male) over Grace (a black/brown female).
To back up and offer a """little""" summary context, normally you're told why you're on the train and what specifically you need to do to get off, but prior to and during season 1 and 2 the person in charge of the train was out of commission (technically they're back and control at the end of season 1, but every relevant character in season 2 arrived prior to that) So when people showed up they were just left to figure it out. When you show up a number is grafted on you that corresponds with all of the issues you've gone through in your life and what you need to work through. The more issues the higher the number. Grace was a rebellious kid who acted out to seek attention, and assumed that the number going up when she did bad things was a good thing. Simon was a shy and timid kid who heavily relied on others, and either prior to had, or developed trust issues when a train denizen he was traveling with left him to die while they were both escaping a monster. Grace saved him soon after and rationalized her high number compared to his low numbur with her being so great at what she assumed is just a big game. Both of them go on to form the Mad Max group that was mentioned, with Grace being the leader and Simon the enforcer, and rally together a bunch of other lost kids in their actions, which aside from just being a nuisance, vandalizing and destroying things, occasionally also involves uninstalling denizens that they convinced themselves weren't actual living beings because they weren't human/didnt have a number.
This went on for over a decade until Grace came across a human traveling with a denizen. Grace grew close to her and became sort of a big sister figure while also slowly trying to indoctrinate her and separate her from the denizen she was traveling with along with Simon. Simon later ends up throwing the denizen overboard into the train wheels, and it's revealed that the girl they've been traveling with was actually a denizen that can take the form of a human. Grace now has a moral crisis that causes her to rethink all her thoughts and actions, while for Simon it's just business as usual. The aforementioned trust issues come back again when Simon realizes she was keeping her change of heart and the truth of the kid being a denizen from him. He's spirals, melts down, and takes over their group. This eventually leads to his unaliving when they confront, fight, and after a moment where Grace saves him, he kicks her overboard. She ends up being saved, but then afterwards the same monster that was chasing him at the very start appears again, puts all his items in a chest, and both try to swim in lava.
Tl;dr, a lot of people sympathize with Simon because he was given a pretty raw deal. In a way made to represent all the wrongs the two had committed and made to take the consequential fall for it.
Sure, he could have reformed his ways like Grace, but theres kinda undertones that imply he has autism, so the worldview that was painted for him as a kid kinda became everything, and he can't as easily 180 from all of it, especially considering that he was the enforcer.

      @KaiserShounen 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

I mean, not even just the autism, Simon was burned and lied to as a kid so he had a hard time trusting others or pursuing a different way of life. Confronting his flaws was just something he couldn't do in the end, which makes him a tragic character who a lot of people like.

It’s funny that Lily hates Simon considering that the two of them have almost identical personalities. Except…well, Simon isn’t a sexual Predator like Lily is.

The Goblins thing further cements that Lily doesn't have a Western-centric Point of view, but an America-centric point of view. It's been something I've been noticing way more recently, where Americans creator think stuff like Goblins, Witches and Wizards, Knights and Castles are just "Fantasy Stuff" and that basically, European Folklore is not a thing.

Makes me wonder if she knows what she's talking about. I don't know lily and her content but mostly her tips involves not doing this it's bad do this instead. It's normal tip but the no one can write something as good as avatar proves that... She believes writers (official or fanfic etc.) can't write a series as good as the show. Great stream as always. Also, "Tip" 35 pisses me off already. Basically telling the artists to shut up and do nothing more than draw. You know, some studios are so small they CANNOT hire writers and had to do everything themselves, and there are some people in the industry that are not only writers and animators, but also voice actors. I believe that "writing tip", like most of them, is basically her subtweeting Steven Universe. She's mad that the storyboarders also wrote the scripts for the episodes they storyboarded (which, imo did actually lead to SU being less focused of a show overall, but I don't think that was the main reason for any of SU's flaws).
Basically, she's saying "If Steven Universe did X, then X is bad and no one should ever do X", because she's obsessed with that show to an unhealthy degree.

Okay, im from germany and we know a thing or two about being antisemitism. Lillys tweets were the first time i heared about the goblin thing. Before that i heared the discussion about JK Roawlings goblins specificly. i had no idea that its supposed to be a general thing. With all i learned in school, nazi more often used caricatures or compared jews to vermon, vampiers or squids. But maybe american antisemitism is its own thing and evolved a diffrent way. or lilly is full of shit, also very possible

Every time I bring up JK Rowling, I get hit over the head with the whole antisemitism thing. I'm willing to bet that some people have connected the Jewish people being frugal stereotype with the fact that the goblins are bankers to create that narrative.
I get it if you don't like her for her politics surrounding trans people. However, I feel like the antisemitic deal is something that isn't a thing that she created intentionally at all.

Archetypes, tropes and etc are all neutral tools that can be used to varying degrees of effect depending on what's right for your story. The whole set of tips are marred by this angry TH-cam reviewer energy
This entire list speaks very authoritatively on topics she doesn't have a place to speak on the matter- like all the racial stereotyping and denouncing the sexual agency of certain people. The goblin thing is also very rich considering a lot of the stuff she's flung at Rebecca Sugar
And one last thing to cap off this comment is that this list feels very antagonistic against women. Like, why are we singling out what women are interested in so often? We support women's wrongs in this house

man, @1:17:30 or so, does it even get brought up that part of the lore between lily and her gardevoir is that there was a whole arc where it was revealed that her gardevoir psychically raped lily when she was a kid in order to extend her own pokemon lifespan beyond its normal length, and the arc resolved that lily shouldn't hold the child psychic rape thing over gardevoir's head and just forgive her?
Regarding Sylvanus Windrunner, can confirm, she was never raped, she was just murdered and raised as an undead servant before she broke free.

Well, having finished part 1... how bad could part 2 be- "Oh yeah she fused her blood with a female Gardevoir to make the half clone thing" I was not ready for this. I was ready for cringe and poorly baked grass but I was not equipped for that part of the discussion. The Psychic damage I received could not be remedied by the jokes like with Call of Duty's special task force immune to bullets. I'm a well versed Pokémon fan since my autism for whatever reason really gravitated toward and in doing so helped me learn how to read. What "Lily" has suggested was what had basically happened in the Pokémon Manga but with Mewtwo and Blaine however... Lily's thing is an abomination and grade of unhinged that even with the R34 stuff I've seen over the years never go and I've seen some parts of Sonichu. This is going to make my Response video to the... awful critique on Pokémon Lily had done exceedingly painful to go through with having this cursed knowledge.
On topic to the additional "writing tips" I myself am an amateur having written a novel in my high school days and wouldn't suggest anything thus far I've seen covered in the 3 hours I've watched into this part. It's been so long I don't even remember if Lily has talked about anything regarding the process of writing itself. Back to the rest of the stream... That Pokémon video is going to be the near end of me I swear it.

Hearing it pick up but... as for how I feel with how autist and autism is used... Frankly. I like Tism as well as the other word previously mentioned but I won't speak it here since I'm not too sure if my comment will get filtered because of that. I take no offense to it and honestly, the classic description for it is "slow" and usually I use it SPECIFICALLY when it comes to a process or situation never really a person unless it is something that was done in past-tense. So to hear someone say "oh he's autistic" I get one of two reactions from it: complete dismissal which hurts every time or mild comfort depending on the context. I genuinely dislike how it's been stereotyped that the word itself is used to describe someone who is socially inept near exclusively. Because it is more than just the social struggles, personally, my largest struggle after overcoming the major hurdle of communication was finding someone to communicate with. Then there's weight and mental health which is honestly a given but not anywhere near the risk it used to be but most of all is honestly managing my habits which does get out of control after a while.

So with the whole polygamy thing, I usually prefer it because I have experienced countless stories where my preferred love interest in the story is not the one the MC gets with, sure sometimes they can still make the main romance compelling and/or give my fav love interest a solid arc dealing with unrequited love then the story can still work, but sometimes I get annoyed when a specific story could clearly just commit to the fantasy bit, but chooses not to. Shows like Bastard!! or Yuna and the Haunted Hot Springs where the romance aspect of it is so clearly not meant to be taken seriously in a realistic light, but they still INSIST on monogamy to at least some degree, these series already were only going to appeal primarily to degenerates, just commit all the way to it!
