In my SAR academy, we had two tribal cop handlers who ran bloodhounds. They had good things to say about them, but they didn't seem to think they were the best dogs in the world for SAR. When we were working on getting in and out of a hovering helicopter, I asked them how their dogs would be with that situation. They said they would probably shut down and have to be picked up and tossed in (or handed off to the crew). I've picked up MWD malinois and GSDs to get them on and off harbor boats when the handler needed help, and they were always good about it. I would not want to have to do that with a scared, shut down dog though.
How do I train my dog he’s st. Bernard mix with great Dane and he doesn’t listen on walks and he barks at everyone but he’s really just a puppy but he scares everyone
Plz do a "Before you buy" video on the dutch shepherds. I have been thinking to get a dutch shepherd but I just don't really know about the breed bcz the internet don't really tell me the full details of the breed. And I think you're the only channel that really explains everything about dog breeds that are good and bad for some people
How can you become a weirdo? become evaluated on something you don't fit in... It is not a K9 dog, he is a hunter tracker, that's why they have the first and third qualities mentioned in this short, about the second... Lack of training, they are used to ear hunting shoots all the time and stay frosty.
The 3 reason is the main reason why i don't want this breed their smell is as horrible as hell 😂 anyway thanks for this information and thank you for everything you do keep going ❤
Herding breeds would probably do pretty good. Most are eager to learn, used to working independent / dependent with their owner. And a well bred one should have good nerves. If they will face down an angry bull, a car backfiring shouldn’t send them running. Once they get into that “I have to find my lost livestock” mentality almost nothing will break their concentration. Maybe Retrievers too
I have a catahoula leopard dog that loves using her nose. Is this breed good with tracking? I know their lineage comes largely from hounds, so not sure. What's your professional opinion?
So what about other hounds like a walker or beagle. Cause I can say I used to have a little female beagle that would lock on to one rabbit and life was punched for that thing because it didn’t matter if she stepped on another one come hell or high water she was working out that track that she started.
Kinda makes you wonder why they were created in the first place 🤨🤔 I've only worked with one in my whole career and it really was pointless. Someone thought he was a good idea for a pet🙄🤦 I think he was around 7 -8 months and already stinky😖😆
“They’re weirdos”! 🤣🤣
I had a bloodhound for 3 years before he passed and I can absolutely confirm this
Damn 😂
My dog is part bloodhound. This is an accurate description.
All my bloodhounds can track is my McRib when I pull in the driveway. They’re busting through my truck window when they smell that McRib
😂
I feel like you eat mc rib maybe to much
@ it’s a joke bruh. You don’t own bloodhounds and it shows
Tell us your house stinks without telling us your house stinks
The last one took me out 😂😂😂😂😂wasn’t expecting that 😂
If you get the chance try a Transylvanian scent hound, they're small but hardy, smart and incredibly determined trackers.
😂 Forget to mention the dead animal/ poop rolling. We wash ours with a skunk odor remover, often more than once a week.
Think that’s most dogs lol
You got to love hounds😂
Stinky weird dawgs are still some of the best dawgs but I say that as someone who loves all dawgs

I said "ya dirty dog!!" -Norm
I like this guy "they fckn stink" lmao
My pit mix could potentially be a tracker. She has an exceptionally good sniffer. She's deaf, so she's able to concentrate on sniffing
So they're not good for tracking? Hmm thousands of years and we've been wrong all along...
They really do stink 😂😂thought it was just me. Really it was me and the dog
Hounds …don’t you just love em
I love how he calls them weirdos 😂
How do I train my dog he’s st. Bernard mix with great Dane and he doesn’t listen on walks and he barks at everyone but he’s really just a puppy but he scares everyone

I have the same mix. But she does listen very well and is very smart. Honestly... one of the easiest dogs to train that I have ever had. ❤

Very similar to a Mal, some people will say even crazier. Whatever you do, find a reputable breeder.
@@1packatak I'm not really an inside person, always go out sometimes to jogging and swimming. But I do need a strong dog, not just an athletic dog

They do stink, lol!!! 😂😅😂
Mine does not stink
you talking about how jumpy they are around gunshots, well when the shots went off in this video i jumped, i wasn't expecting it
My blood hound doesn’t stink!!!!!!!!
The 3 reason is the main reason why i don't want this breed their smell is as horrible as hell 😂 anyway thanks for this information and thank you for everything you do keep going ❤

😂😂😂 that's golden info
Part 2
They're weirdos is reason enough 😅

Regarding #2 would Early Neurological Stimulation and or Early Scent Induction be beneficial?
Tracking ks straightforward, what is the definition of trailing?
Belgians and Germans my friend ♥

They do stink, my male was super obedient until we got him a girlfriend and then he was the worst dog we've ever had.
Aww I feel bad now, what ARE they good for? lol
Not to even mention some of the well rough jobs they had back in the 1800s
They also are strong like bull 🐂
I was waiting for the smelly part xD
I might be getting a 17 mounth old GSD any tips?idk if i will tho
Check out DIYK9.com for our courses
They do stink LMAO
Your dog has B.O. The ultimate insult.
Weirdos in his experience super funny. Have a good 2025 coming up everyone.
Owned a bloodhound once, never again, worst breed ever, they stink, there scared, and dumb as hell. I say that with all respect😂
Well when I was a bounty hunter they made me a ton of cash😊
So, they are better to hunt, right?😎
Kinda makes you wonder why they were created in the first place 🤨🤔
I've only worked with one in my whole career and it really was pointless. Someone thought he was a good idea for a pet🙄🤦

Bloodhounds and Bassets stink so bad. 🤢
Number 4: They're also pretty ugly 💀
They do stink and they are so mean!!
There mostly hunting dogs
Like your videos, but you’re awful tough on Bloodhounds.
All dogs are smelly...no matter how much you wash them...and they hate soap n water...they only like food and more food!
Isn't smell primarily caused by food?
Oh, now I feel a bit sorry for the bloodhound. Even weirdos can do good work (I'm the best proof of that 😂).
