Finally, FINALLY, someone who doesn’t just shrug off or disrespect King Kong ‘05. I can’t tell You how many times people have said it’s not even better than the original. It’s so awesome to see it at the very top of your list along with minus one. And I love seeing 2014 in the top too!
Good that you caught how they brought back Godzilla's OG theme in King of the Monsters BUT you should know they also brought back Mothra's OG theme for that film! Props to getting thru most of the filmography👏
King of the monsters is hands down my all time favorite Godzilla movie. The cinematography, the monsters, etc. the movie fills you with such a sense of dread and just always gives me goosebumps
I get not liking the American version of the original Godzilla as much as the OG, but to rank the original in A and the American version in F is ridiculous. It did not get rid of ALL the good parts, as you say. It's largely the same movie, with SOME good stuff subtracted and SOME bullsh*t added. Not all of the added stuff is terrible, and they still left 70% of the film in. Ranking one as A and the other as F is like those people who say they love coke, but Cherry Coke is disgusting. You can like one over the other, but to say the other is disgusting is ridiculous and disingenuous. If Coca-Cola tasted great, but cherry coke tasted like actual sh*t, people would have puked upon drinking it, and it would have been ripped off the shelves. Yet, you can watch Godzilla and GKotM56 and not puke your guts out. Jesse Jackson couldn't argue that Godzilla KotM 1956 belongs anywhere near the level of Son of Kong or Godzilla's Revenge/All Monsters Attack. Mad respect for a lot of your choices, though. That's why I don't get this short-sighted take.
I've been a fan of Godzilla since I was 6. I've watched every single Godzilla film repeatedly except for Godzilla returns and Godzilla vs. Biollante because they were never available for me to watch, but I watch lore videos for them. I really like King Kong, but not as much as Godzilla. I haven't seen every single Kong film yet. Mostly the crossover films with Godzilla.
So here’s the story behind Son Of Kong, it’s not a cash grab, the filmmakers didn’t have a choice at the time. Because the original King Kong was a huge success the filmmakers wanted to make another movie. The studio agreed to this on the CONDITION that it comes out the exact same year in time for Christmas. The studio feared that nobody would remember the story of King Kong 2-3 years after its release which is why they made that rule. So the filmmakers frantically tried their best to make the film in that time span. Ruth Rose one of the “screenwriters” somewhat commented on this and said “if you can’t make it better, make it funnier” thus that’s what they did. I must also mention that Willis O’Brien who worked on both films refused to talk about anything to do with this movie due to a tragic incident that happened in his life during production of Son Of Kong.
I’m shocked you couldn’t watch Biolante! I watched it as a kid and then got it on VHS. How sad it’s not around now. It’s a good film and Biolante is tough.
Tho the book came out before the film the original film was in production first and is the original story , the 2005 film might as well have been call Donkey Kong as he's an Ape not a Gorilla for me the 2005 film is B+ Tier.
Last Christmas, I saw Godzilla Minus One. I never saw any other Godzilla movies besides 2014, King of Monsters and the last 2 movies with Kong. In Minus One, I was blown away that Godzilla has the ability to heal. Has he always had this ability in the previous movies?
In some continuities / movies, yes. In some, no. In some he was just invulnerable to anything humans could do. In others fairly regular weapons could hurt him. It all depends on the story the writer / director want to tell.
1. Godzilla 54 2. King Kong 33 3. Godzilla Minus One 4. Godzilla vs Mothra 6. Destroy all Monsters 7.Godzilla 85 8. Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster 9.Godzilla vs. Biollante 10. King Kong 76 The rest
Godzilla 1985 was a good movie and Godzilla 1984 but a lot of people say Godzilla 1984 is better than Godzilla 1985 with Raymond Burr the 1954 Godzilla movie was a great movie to but they brought Raymond Burr back to the Godzilla king of the monster 1956 king Kong the 1933 I saw that one to with lot of different dinosaurs 🦖🦕 but the second 29:00 one was King Kong 1976 it was a good movie but no dinosaurs 🦖 the music score was fantastic
5 best 1&2 kinda tied with Godzilla vs Destoroyah and Godzilla Minus One 3. GMK 4. Final Wars 5. Gojira 5 worst 1. All Monsters Attack 2. Son of Godzilla 3. Godzilla Raids Again 4. Godzilla vs Megalon 5. Godzilla City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla Planet Eater kinda tie as well
Godzilla final wars was where that guy held up a sword to Godzilla The last time I saw something that stupid those guys in jaws were trying to reel in a shark with a chain and a roast by hand
Also I have a really old movie for you to watch Nosferatu from 1922 starring Max Schreck as Count Orlok it’s a silent movie but it is one of the creepiest movies of all time great film highly recommend it
Cool list. I'm surprised you've seen almost every Godzilla and Kong movie, that's a lot to watch. I've only seen Godzilla 1998, King Kong 2005 and all the Monsterverse movies. I still need to watch Godzilla x Kong: New Empire plus I'd like to see Godzilla: Minus One
I’d recommend Shin Godzilla, Godzilla v Mothra (1992), Giant Monsters All Out Attack (2001), Final Wars (2004, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991), the original (1954) and definitely Return of Godzilla (1984). On and Godzilla vs Biollante (1989).
In no universe is Shin Godzilla on the same level as the original 1954 Godzilla. The original 1954 had actual footage of victims of the fallout of the nuclear bombings that alone put it above everything.
Shin Godzilla is one of the most compelling and unique takes on the character in his history. One of the best written by far, it's definitely up there with the original, no contest Also, the original never actually showed real footage, it was all created in the studio itself.
Man, I just don’t see the appeal of the recent American Godzilla/Kong movies. They’re so fantastical and ridiculous that it’s hard to connect with anything thats happening in them. Shin, Minus One, 1954 and a handful of the Hesei Godzillas are A/S tier and the rest range from C to F 😂
@@kingofthegiantmonsters Lord of the Rings and Star Wars have engaging plots, likable characters with interesting arcs, incredible world building and design, and are impeccably directed films (the original Star Wars trilogy anyway). But American Godzilla and Marvel movies are over saturated hyperactive greenscreen messes that only really have action/special effects to connect with or enjoy

THANK YOU for praising the ice skating scene in 2005's King Kong. So many people say it's cheesy, but it moves me to tears every time!
I can't help but feel that the way Godzilla takes out the male MUTO in 2014 is a homage / shout-out to the way Gojira takes out Zilla in Final Wars.
Solid list 👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks!
Out of all the Godzilla/kong tier lists, I got to say I respect yours the most
Pity at least 3 on the list you couldn't watch are easily in the top 10 list
Awesome list 👏
It’s funny you’re watching AHS during this point in time bc Jessica Lange is the lead in one of those King Kongs!
Godzilla is the best monster out there he would destroy King Kong it’s like Superman vs Batman
Good that you caught how they brought back Godzilla's OG theme in King of the Monsters BUT you should know they also brought back Mothra's OG theme for that film! Props to getting thru most of the filmography👏

Damn would’ve been cool to see you react to these :/ oh well, this is good enough haha
If you want, nonstop, laughter, watch mystery, science, theater, 3000 when they review Godzilla versus Megalon
It is hysterical
great list

42?!! Goddamn!! Are you watching or thinking about bringing to the channel the animation of *X-Men97* ?!
I’m feelin your S Tier…KK2005? KK vs 3 TRexs, it was like KK vs Jurassic Park…jack black and adrien Brody..GZ2014 was 🔥
Godzilla beat Superman before
I’m shocked you couldn’t watch Biolante! I watched it as a kid and then got it on VHS. How sad it’s not around now. It’s a good film and Biolante is tough.
I don't know if this is a hot take, but King Kong 2005 is the best version of the original King kong story.
Tho the book came out before the film the original film was in production first and is the original story , the 2005 film might as well have been call Donkey Kong as he's an Ape not a Gorilla for me the 2005 film is B+ Tier.

7.Godzilla 85
8. Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster

Godzilla versus Kong is easily one of the best movies ever

5 best
1&2 kinda tied with Godzilla vs Destoroyah and Godzilla Minus One
3. GMK
4. Final Wars
5. Gojira
5 worst
1. All Monsters Attack
2. Son of Godzilla
3. Godzilla Raids Again
4. Godzilla vs Megalon
5. Godzilla City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla Planet Eater kinda tie as well
If you can watch those 5, they are really good, in my opinion.
Godzilla final wars was where that guy held up a sword to Godzilla
The last time I saw something that stupid those guys in jaws were trying to reel in a shark with a chain and a roast by hand
Yes Godzilla 1984 the original Japanese version is far more serious than the American cut
Also I have a really old movie for you to watch Nosferatu from 1922 starring Max Schreck as Count Orlok it’s a silent movie but it is one of the creepiest movies of all time great film highly recommend it

If also recommend some Godzilla content channels on TH-cam like DMan1954 and GojiCenter
Jesus Christ 😂 you’ve basically only watched the American movies…Of a Japanese franchise
@@danculbert6349 yeah true. I might still watch the Japanese films sometime

You’re on your own here bud. Majority of people agree Gojira, Shin, and Minus One are the 3 best Godzilla movies; all pretty much being equal.
Where's the red dead video
Gid-or-uhh not gee-dir-ah. No offense
