This is probably due to the concept of “anchoring”. Since Joe was the most muscular out of everyone he was in the extreme which people don’t really want. Put a few more body types that are more muscular than you, and I guarantee you will get the most votes

not only this but the reality is most women like a range of bodies and not just one type, since they deal with men they find in real life and bodybuilders who are really big are quite rare, and only are in top shape for like a week out of the year, sometimes they have dadbod during bulking or outright obese looking.
It would have been interesting to add another even bigger and leaner individual to the top of the list to see if that changes the votes in any way. Comparison can change a lot in such surveys. I think you would have gotten more votes then.

WOMEN AND THEIR COMPLEXES. I was always the tallest among my friends, but I was still often not seen as such. This is a question of ego and many women have complexes and don't answer honestly. I know I don't make many friends that way, but that's 100 percent the truth. At the school festival, the winner was able to choose someone to kiss and she kissed the ugliest one of them all.🤦

Honestly as a girl, I'm gonna tell you what it is. The girl who said "I would feel insecure with that" was 100% correct. Although alot of people now are more accepting of different body types, MOST girls are still insecure, almost no girl is happy with her body, so it's not that we don't find muscular guys attractive, it's that we feel insecure being around someone who's closer to perfection than us. Oh and btw no one says that but some girls think that they should be more attractive than thier partners since she's "the girl"

It’s interesting. My girlfriend used to tell me she preferred me way more when I was bulking at the gym she said I had a “hot bane gut” when I started cutting and working on my abs she said she liked them but it just wasn’t her favorite. She said she loved the strong but not ripped because she said something about it being hot to look naturally strong like a lumberjack look vs a beach boy look, anyway it’s super interesting, needless to say it made me happy to know that she liked my body the same way I liked it. ie. Go for the strong lumberjack look more than the ripped beach boy look.

Its an insecurity thing with women if you are rocking the abs they know what high value you are. Online dating sites have proven women will not be honest when asked question about what type of men they like, the vast majority of women say they would never date a man with a shirtless pic in profile however the actual data shows dudes with shirtless pic/abs get the most interactions its not even close. That said yeah bit arms chest but without that abs you will still get plenty of action.
I’ll be honest there’s something comforting about a little gut/dad bod as long as there is muscle underneath. So a good framework with some flesh over it. It adds some solidness and we girls like to feel small next to our guy. If you’re too lean all we’re thinking is “well geez now I have to have abs to look right next to him.” Girls with abs will go for guys with abs 100%. Those of us who don’t like our muscular teddy bears.

I had a female friend who said she was upset after I got bigger from working out and claimed she didn't like guys who were too muscley but over time she started asking me to send her pics and got a bit more touchy and feely when she was around me. I don't think girls know what they really want most of the time to be honest lol

They don't! In my honest opinion a dude with a muscular body will tolerate little imperfections from most people. Girls will always know that that muscular man has the potential to attract others and would always be on edge and it worries or stresses them out which is why they go for easier more unathletic body type looking men.

The real reason so many woman didn't vote for Joe was probably not because he doesn't have an attractive physique, but they felt intimidated by his body and didn't want to choose the most muscular choice. There's no way a dad bod is seen as more attractive to females than Joe's physique 😂.

As someone who has had literally all 4 of those body types throughout my life. Young girls prefer the skinny fit type, older women love the muscles, but ALL women love the Dad bod 😎

What we guys always forget is that physique isn't a women's primary filter for attractiveness as it is for us men, its further down the list.. Character, personality, if you can provide (often confused with love of money by guys), ability to talk, humour,, who you really are, a cute or friendly face, these are tops for a woman. Still.. I was a bit surprised with the results.

Shredded and fit body is the most important to girls (after some money of course), and too many of them are just acting nice and later when things get serious, then show their real personality... I know it since my ex cheated on me because apparently I didn't look great... It was almost one year ago, and I was bored as hell and felt sooo bad about myself at the time, but some friends helped me to work on myself. They motivated me to be persistent, and introduced me to some tips and tricks that helped me to eat clean as well. In the process I took some meal plans from Next Level Diet to further improve my meal planning. I lost 97 lbs in one year, and I am now feeling more happy than I ever were!

I think most girls who are not fit themselves or doesn’t workout prefers bodys which also resemble that lifestyle. While girls who are into working out, are more into fit guys. As she at 2:56 said, she would feel too insecure. This just shows that you shouldn't care too much about the opinions of someone with different values from you.

It's rarely that. I'm a girl who goes to the gym. 170 cm, 56 kg. I never found very muscular guys attractive and neither did most of my friends. It's got nothing to do with insecurity and everything to do with looks. A body that is too bulky doesn't look like it belongs to a human anymore, it looks like the body of a bull. Most women I know (me included) prefer V shaped, lean looking men with a pretty face. Slim is definitely better than excessively bulky. This is not to say that the boy in the video doesn't have a nice body (he surely does). But I am not surprised that the third was the most voted. And let's not forget that the face is the most important when it comes to attraction. Notice how the girls suddenly seem interested when they find out the body belongs to him.

I always tell ppl…especially new gym comers asking for advice…that Arnold Schwarzenegger/Lou Farrigno look went out in the late 80s early 90s. At one point I was working towards that but noticed I got more attention being slimmer. I go more for the slim athletic look now.
Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.
This just goes to show it doesnt take as much as you think to impress the average girl

This enforces my theory of once you hit a certain caliber of fit you unlock access to the BADDIES. The ones that take care of themselves also, the rare, the mythical, FIT GIRL. When I first started lifting after a year I gained around 19 lbs, I started pulling these gym girls all of the sudden but in my head I still didn’t register I myself was fit so I was mad insecure and never went through with wifeing any of them up even though I was literally at the peak of my existence at the time. Then Covid hit I lost all my gains and I stopped pulling these girls and when I was looking back at pics of myself I was like holy shit I was actually a stud. Currently working on getting back to where I was, only a month in! 11 months to go!

I mean I’m gay and before the video started, my immediate answer was number 3… Joe’s physique is very aesthetically pleasing if seen in a magazine or something, but a little intimidating if seen in personal. I personally like someone who’s somewhat athletic and built but not too built like bodybuilder type. Like the Swedish word, “lagom” (not too much, not too little.) Just my opinion, your physique is still admirable, keep up the good work.
Also 2:49 I think it might’ve helped to have a more relaxed look during the photo of reference rather than a flexed one like in the timestamp given. (Just an opinion since I’m more of a chest, abs person rather than a bicep and it obscures it a little during that pose)

Having a body pretty similar to Jack's, I can definitely live with that! 😋 However, the result shouldn't be taken at face value: First of all, Joe flexed his muscles while the other guys didn't. I think that alone "cost" him. He should have relaxed (or have the other guys flex as well).
However, more importantly, I think it became evident that at least some of the girls did NOT vote for the body they found the most attractive, but rather for the one they would like a potential partner to have: "Insecure", "intimidated" etc. --> All of these expressions hint the possibility that they did consider Joe's body to be the most attractive one, indeed, but didn't prefer him for this exact reason.
