    If we're using a program such as PAST, and we perform Discriminant Analysis that has a Jackknife option for the data (in the confusion matrix), do we still need to perform the Jackknife procedure manually? Or is it sufficient to just use the Jackknife option in the program? (I couldn't find an answer/explanation for this anywhere, not even on the manual)

    I work with SPSS mostly. I do very simple statistics and correlations for my studies. Please, help me if I got it wrong but...
    If i have a sample of 50 participants in my study, under the Jackknife, I would create an identical data set on SPSS but eliminating the first participant. Then a second one eliminating the participant #2 and so on... When I have 49 data sheets, I copy the whole bulk of data into a NEW data sheet on SPSS and call it "Jackknifed"? Cause then I would have created the artificial variance and combined them into a new set that would give me a larger "sample" but similar in characteristics.
    Any help I would be glad to hear. Thanks in advance!!

    For all the new viewers , The formula For "Variance of estimate" used in above presentation is Utterly incorrect !!! Refer en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackknife_resampling#:~:text=A%20jackknife%20estimate,%3A%5B3%5D%5B4%5D for correct one.

      @@lampooner_no_42 It should either be f(x_i) instead of the \overline{f_i} in the formula or the whole thing should be multiplied by (N-1)^2
