How VEOX PMO mixproof valve meets PMO recommendations?

- The new PMO mix-proof valve with double independent plugs meets the 3A recommendations (85-03) in accordance with dairy sanitary requirements.
These standards cover the sanitary aspects of double-seat mix-proof valves
used on processing equipment and lines which hold or convey, milk products
and other comestibles.
The production no longer needs to completely stop during cleaning operations.
The double block and bleed valve incorporates a physical break between two circuits. This technology can be used to visually see possible leaks and allows two different liquids to flow through the valve without the risk of cross contamination, even during seat lifting operations. The independent lifting of the plugs also keeps the valve completely clean (seals, seal bearings and leakage chamber) without opening it.
The double security is ensured by deflectors on the plugs and the optimal dimensioning of the leakage chamber.
The profile of the plug allows it to comply with PMO standards, thanks to deflectors that guide the flow to the
center of the leakage chamber while avoiding contact with the plug seat.
Double security is ensured during the upper and lower plugs lift without risk of materials cross-contaminating.
The size of the leakage chamber is maximized to allow for possible drainage from leaks, without pressure on the interior of the leakage chamber.
Thus, if the upper O-ring is damaged any risk of contamination between the upper and lower flow paths is eliminated during the lift of the lower plug.
Production shutdowns are limited and controlled.
The sliding radial seal on the lower plug, with a stainless steel insert, gives high seal stability and resistance (even under extreme conditions). Its pressure and temperature performances are higher, giving it longer life.
The reduced number of seals in the valve greatly simplifies disassembly of the valve and allows for optimized maintenance times. 25 minutes max is needed to realize the maintenance of the shut-off unit.
The robustness of the components and the reliability of the mechanical design guarantees the valve can be used for a long period of time,
ensuring controlled maintenance costs.
The number of process seals (only 6) and their performance limits process line interruptions while spacing out interventions.
