Having just purchased a1978 88 SWB lightweight (military) I love looking at you guys taking the old Ladies to the limits. Unfortunately this is all impossible here in the Netherlands due to environmental issues. Keep up the good works.
It's impressive seeing how capable the discovery really is following the series 2a! What an incredible location. Wish you could have brought us the rest of the way, but what a very cool weekend trip.
@@hayden_jones we e got couple classic series landys in our group will be doing a classic event soon! Series 1,2,3 ,109 military ,101 forward control and early 90,disco 200series and Range Rover classic!!
Very cool, I remember looking down over the back of porter heights summit and wondering about how to get to this valley. Great adventure! The old sandflies is something I don’t miss from nz.
Amazing video. Great to see some others still using Series Land-Rovers as they were intended. Not many of us doing this now over in the UK. I'd give this trail a go in my SIII 88" 200Tdi if it wasn't on the other side of the planet!
Cool... there are similar pinnacles not far from me and that is where they made one of the Lord of the Rings movies.. Lake Collleridge is a nice place I been there.. thanks from Wgtn. 👍🇳🇿
Was a well put together video, great wee trip. Pretty happy to have found your channel recently, love seeing other locals out doing their thing and hopefully I'll be able to plan a trip of my own to some of these spots!
Hayden great channel. I was sponsored by LR in Africa and miss the LR vibe. I owned a 90 Td5 and an old Tdi. Pricing here is wild so currently own a Toyota FJ, living in Auckland but moving South shortly. Keep the videos coming. I have subscribed.
Hey, I'm the owner of the discovery 2. It doesn't have center diff lock. All the 2003 models didn't have the ability. But some can have home made wires to activate it.
@@jacobskinner9700 the diff lock is still on the transfer box but for some stupid reason Land Rover deleted the linkage. If you can source an earlier Discovery 2 linkage ( my 2000 my had selectable diff lock ) it will fit straight in and if I remember correctly you can do it from the top by removing the centre console
Awesome video Hayden, great to see Ross driving the old Landy again. Looks like you boys had a good time, Liam can’t wait for the next one!
That’s a healthy sounding Landy and what a beauty.

Great video, those pinnacles are amazing. The landy making the terrain look easy, and great to see the old dog behind the wheel again!
Cheers mate. Yeah the old landy chuggs along nicely. Hahaha the old dog secretly loved it !! 🤣
Funny, we're doing the same thing in the same old Landys on the opposite side of the world. Here's to enjoyable expeditions AK🤜🍻🤛NZ

Thanks. Yeah the sandflies really get to you after awhile.
Beautiful spot though. I'll definitely be heading back up that way one day
Hi Hayden another great driving trip, thanks for taking us along, cheers mate, best regards from a ex ChCh boy now living Melbourne.
Thanks so much Les. I'm pretty sure you're my number 1 fan !! Appreciate all the support

Hi Hayden, Nice trip 👍. What a beautiful Landscape 😊. Hurry up for the next video 😉. Joan 👋
Haha, thanks so much Joan 😁👍🏼
Nice trip, on the bucket list to get out there.
Well worth it.
otro video excelente gracias.
Gracias.
Sayenizde çok muhteşem yerler görmek çok güzel teşekkürler

Great video, loved the pinnacles. Can’t wait for the next video.
Thanks Ross. Glad you enjoyed it
Nice video as always. Beautiful land scape.
Thank you very much! Please help out the channel by sharing the video's to friends and family

Amazing Off Road.😍
You’ve got a great channel. Just subbed. Thanks for the content.
Cheers Sean. Appreciate the comment.
Nice one mate, what a cool looking trip!
Land Rover Series 4x4 classic legend😍
I agree 👍🏽
Thanks for the amazing content. Love your Land Rover. Its been very entertaining watching your videos the past few days. Manuj- New Delhi, India.
Thanks so much..... more to come 🙂

Thanks 👍🏽 there's plenty to see out there indeed. Glad you enjoyed the video 😃
@@hayden_jones I forgot to ask you about the b engine you have in your landy has it got its own gearbox or is it adapted to the landy box
It's got a Toyota celica gearbox. Works very well
I’m thinking about one for a project I got a 3b and a 5L that’s been turbo
Looks like a great spot, definitely on the list to check that out one day, cheers!
Yeah definitely. Its a sweet spot
Went up there about 3 weeks ago got to the car park you have to walk about 400 meters to the hut the track is getting rougher

Thanks so much for that.
We are hopefully heading out again this weekend..... in search of some snow. Fingers crossed.
That engine sounds sweet…. Suits the Landrover well. What Toyota type is it.
Thanks Ian. It's a Toyota B engine (not the more common 3B)
3ltr 4 cylinder
What size tyres is the disco running and has it had a lift? Looks like it doing better than the last video! 😃
It's got 265/70/r16 and no lift. Everything is the same from last video, just the driver getting better haha
Just remember, to engage the centre diff lock on the Disco II. Your traction will then be 50/50 and your vehicle will perform excellent!

More than just “pretty cool “
What engine has this old LR Series?
Toyota B
3.0ltr diesel 🙂
Go on the 2A 💪🏻🙂
Its the best right !!
Did you get to amphitheater creek?
No we didn't, we never went up that valley. Just went up the Harper river valley.
why did you change the engine man?
We bought it like that back in 1995. The guy we got it off did the conversion 👍🏽
How to get there please?
Probably best to Google Harper campsite. Then follow directions 👍🏼
Hi Hayden how long have been doing this with your dad
Since 1995 !! Except now days I do the driving. (I was only 11 when he bought it)
@@hayden_jones omg no way that’s so cool 😎 👍
@@hayden_jonesI just read that bit about your dad etc that’s great have you put a heater in the landy yet
@lesmondk3376 I have, it's a life saver. It heats up the landy so fast !!
Tired of seeing that Disco still on street tyres !!!
I promise you won't see it ever again. He sold it over a year ago!
