I never even knew he wasn't American when I watched "The Americans" b/c his American accent was so good.

it's your heart & soul. Never lose that. Hope your children get to spend many happy hours there so that they too feel, Welsh.

And WELSH woman. Been away from home too long. Time to go home. I did my DNA and I’m 88% Welsh and 12% Irish. Irish was a shock. Home is 100% WALES 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I entirely agree...I was born in Mountain Ash and bred in Aberdare for over 20 years and now live in Italy for more than 30 years but every so often Hiraith comes back to me....

@@gianpierocroci9451 absolutely,Ogmore castle is my favourite castle in/around Bridgend, not actually a defensive castle, bit daft building a castle below the hill overlooking it but rather it was the"loading bay"for supplies being brought into Bridgend,at the time the castle was built(1106)the river flowed up against the castle wall so boats would unload there before being transported either by rowing boat or along the"road".... muddy track to Newcastle and Coity castle and the two village's that eventually came to be Bridgend,Newcastle village, obviously below the castle,Porthcawl side of the old stone bridge in town and Oldcastle, which was at the top of town overlooking the river....not far from where Bridgend college is now,I was a member of archeology cymru when I lived in Bridgend and we did a lot of work, not digs but field walking, around the Vale,Llantwit Major etc and looking at the history of the area.
I've shown Antje around the area, even up through RCT,my sister lived in Abercynon but we've not been to the dunes yet,Merthyr Mawr village she loves, who doesn't 🙂there is a festival at the dunes at the end of August,at the old campsite as you get to the carpark at the dunes so hopefully we'll make it over this year,we normally go back in September.

The opening line that Matthew says is something that I thought of as well. Except that I'm from India and the city that looked like a film for me was Melbourne

He was so funny when he stared in "Columbo Likes the Nightlife" (2003). I love when he blasts Columbo for ruining his opening night: "No, no, no, no, let me tell you what I'm gonna do; I'm gonna sue your arse!!!"

'Hiraeth' is the word he's looking for. There is no equivalent English word, but it means 'a longing for home.'or a longing for the Welsh speaking sea.,as Dylan would have it.
