It's good to keep in mind, because you should use your Q 5-6 seconds before a jungle camp spawns when leashing (or even shen jungling), that gives you 6 empowered autos on the monsters, 3 from the initial use, then 3 from recast. That's the equivalent of a leash from 2 players bot, which is HUGE for your jungler, since going top side always means smaller leash. Expect when it's a Shen top who knows his stuff :D

1:42 this first trade here is a perfect example, Pekin goes in, presses q to bring his blade towards himself, before the blade gets to him he does a regular auto for big dmg bc he has the shield bash and grasp runes, after that his blade passes through Ahri on the way to him. When the blade passes through an enemy champ, Shen’s next 3 autos deal bonus dmg, have increased range, and he gets bonus (attack speed?) I think.
@@mattmelendez-vasquez4902 AND you get the small shield, so if its melee vs melee auto you will almost always win the trade. Even if its not a lot of damage you are dealing, the amount of damage you can negate with w and shield makes you win most trades.
Something super important you did was land that takedown for Kindred early, thus giving her the stack and making the passive stacks spawn elsewhere less predictable. Since kindred really thrives at 4+ stacks, that actually was super valuable for them.
A good Shen player will usually never ult just to save your ass. We are not your babysitters. When Shen ults he sees a possibility to turn the fight around for your team. He is very often leaving behind resources like XP and Farm just to turn around the fight, but when you decide to run away you most likely have given your enemy top laner free resources and the turret in return for nothing for Shen. This also shows us that you are usually not worth ulting for.
I agree with you but i often use my ult to save an ally with a big bounty on him. It's not all about turning the fight it is about making the enemy lose much more than you have already lost when you decided to ult

I always thought the downfall of top lane Shen players was when they would R a teammate and that whole time, they would lose so much CS and xp and such just by using their ultimate all the way across the map and taking forever to get back to lane. Shen mid definitely solves that issue as where you are basically closer to both lanes where you would be using your ultimate

I had a shen mid in my game earlier and the guy was awful. I hate it when bad players try to copy one trick challengers thinking it'll somehow get them out of their hardstuck rank.
Shen is easily in my top 5 champs. I find his playstyle very fun just because I enjoy being an omnipresent force on the map, and also being a very durable Champion.
I have no idea how Heartsteel has lasted this long without being hotfixed. HP stacking was already broken as fuck before, and they made an item that infinitely stacks which synergizes with Grasp. Can we revert the nerf to pen items and Liandries???

ahhh, as an xpetu fan, ive been playing some shen mid (I started watching him when I wanted to play some fill and played when top). its ok, I still think its kinda overrated, but his dmg is really strong. Getting things like lvl 2 kills is pretty easy against melees worse things about shen mid is waveclear, range and scaling. He isn't that strong later on, and his waveclear is dodo shit, even s13 I'm rushing bamis.

When you want to leash first q 1:17 then 1:25 . You get 6 empowered autos and a shield to tank one hit

Shen often sacrifices a slight loss in top lane for a hard win bot lane. Bot lane more often decides games than a slightly fed top laner.
