I was trying to figure this out for 3 hours, I have use excel before. Acutally since I was 16 yrs old, am 43 now. I tried the Match method, vlookup and also learned xlookup. NOTHING WORKED...until I ran into this video. Thank You!!!!!
I was searching for the same, many TH-camrs were here & there but you have nailed my problem
Thank you! You saved me from jumping off a bridge! I just wasted 2 hours trying to figure this out! I have subscribed and will visit your channel again next time before I waste so much of my time and sanity! I owe you BIG TIME!!!
I never comment on video's but I am just over the moon with this one. This has been a headache for me forever and this definetly fixed it/ Thank you for putting this video together. !!!!
Wow!! 😂 it was that easy. I spent a whole day manually looking up data. I had lost hope for vlookup until this video. I just couldn't figure out why I was getting NA. This video saved my pinky. 😂 copy and paste is no joke.
When receiving data from someone or downloading some from a program, are there any best practices to follow to set you up for best results with vlookup? Example, should I select all sheets I’m about to work with and convert the whole worksheet with the text to column button to give a neutral start to my work? I get any documents from different sources and my columns and references often are a combination of numbers, letters and letter/number combinations and I need my look up to recognize them all, all in the same column. Hopefully you can make sense of that example. I work a lot with UPC’s, skus, product codes, etc.
Best video in youtube ever done, congratulation you were the only one in the world who could accomplished this, not they can fire all the Indian fromt he MS excel department and give to you all their salary.
Earlier this month, I watched King Charles III get crowned. It should have been this video. 😁 Thank you so so much! Bonus thanks for getting to the point and not making us watch 15 minutes of mostly sales pitches 🙏😃
Worked like a charm Thanks a ton brother😀 Have been working on it since last 48 hours and watched your video and boom will be able to enjoy the weekend burden free😇 Thanks again
I have a mix of numbers and letters that I need to do vlookup on (crypto addresses consist of both)... why doesnt vlookup recognise it? Tried general, text, numbers format, still shows "NA" :(
who are you bro,, you are awesome , excellent.... last one week i watched some many videos, i did not get the solution, after i seen your videos i applied it, its works well... you are great bro.. god bless you.. sure.. you are the eye opener and fantastic.. Thank you so much bro.. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hii i wander if there is a way to use vlookup when the column that contains the value is not on the left Let say take your example and say that i want to get the value to match and i have the bbbb value Is there a way to use vlookup and get the value 2
but all your settings to mines its already originally looked like yours, so i wouldn't have to change any options since no difference. and still didnt work for me.
At a basic level, there are two types or errors. One the formula is referencing the wrong fields. Check for that. Second, the data just doesn’t match. To test this force the fields to match. Type “abcd” in both data record to see what happens. If that works it means your orignal data doesn’t match for some reason.
it didnt worked out for me after checking it coz both places numbers are in number format. I used LEN formula to see the length still throwing same NA error
Changing the format won't necessarily change text to number. I recommend running both columns through the "text to columns" function in the data menu. It can reset text to numbers.
I just copy paste copy paste exel word exel to clear any hidden formatting. Annoying but works fine for me.but for time savings gotta try this.lets see
You’re genius, absolutely lifesaver 🎉😊

Thanks for sharing, could you guide me how can I solve this if I’m matching text value eg. Name. Thanks
Text works very well with the Lookup functions but it’s important that the names are exactly the same with no leading or trailing spaces.
Nice, thanks!
