@@ITZsharky1 You are good in intense situations, but you should perhaps be somewhat more relaxed when a game is not at the killscreen. Anyway, regardless of your commentary, I always look out for your results as a player.
@@Aarvaagenthanks for the feedback! I try to stay a bit more relaxed on 18, but this was probably the first year we had so many games that left 19-28. Where I do increase my tempo to match the game speed. I’ll consider what you said in regards to future commentary
this is played on the modretro chromatic (like a gameboy) where they cant roll bc the ctwc was sponsored by modretro so this was just a fun little tournament held on the side. for the actual main ctwc tournament they played classic nes tetris where they did use rolling
@@akselst the CTM tourney for July is going to be DAS-only, people are playing their Quals rn (online), Dog and Andy had pretty good scores without much practise, videos are up on their TH-cam channels 👍
nah. the IZISZZISISZSZS sequence in 3:40~3:49 on Dog's side is more than utterly impossible in 7-bag. The settings looks like slow Modern for colors, drop shadow, hard drop and drop slides, but NES tetris for piece generation and scoring (maybe rotation tables too), which I think is a pretty good middle ground
Why the partnership with ModRetro? It was very disconcerting seeing Palmer Luckey appear at the end of the tournament with the winner. I come to CTWC to see good and wholesome Tetris gameplay, not to support a billionaire who made his money off Meta and selling AI killer drones to the US military.
These events aren’t free to run. While I’m conflicted with the whole sponsorship CTWC can’t run without money unless we want the core organizers to go broke or into debt each year
@@JustifiedCritic it's not an either or. CTWC has many other sponsors as well as a generous donor base. It is pretty clear that other sponsored events such as the Tetris Effect Connected one (which was billed as a 40th birthday event even though Tetris' birthday was last week) had to be moved online to make space for this one, for instance. There are a whole range of options between taking all sponsors regardless of ethics, and taking none at all. They did not have to put this war profiteer on such a major pedestal, and I don't find the argument that this was the only possible option to be very convincing.
@@justinbchen I could ask Sharky as he would know more about. But I know for a fact that the event itself was the most costly ctwc yet. The organizers get nothing from the matcherino which would at least help offset the costs. They even did a picture of all the staff and volunteers that helped make the event run. Yeah it sucks don’t get me wrong but I would rather have CTWC stay around then for the organizers to have to stop because it being no longer viable for them financially to uphold
@@JustifiedCritic again, it's not an either/or. I appreciated the higher production value this CTWC and certainly the higher cost shows, but I did not find if that much of a value add from a audience standpoint, certainly not something which would justify breaking my moral values. It is also a choice to not solicit donations for the organizing of the event, and a fairly strange one considering how standard that is nowadays. I strongly believe that people would put in extra to monetarily support the event if given an easy option to do so.
Sharky is a Tetris Commentary GOD.
Knowledgeable, quantitative, hype, and color commentary all in one.
Just give the man all the mics.
I personally dislike his commentary.

Time flies so fast, Dog looks like the older brother now.
Looking forward to ‘Alex T vs The Big Show’ and ‘Fractal vs John Cena’ next year!
😂
Man andy is so underrated
Underr?!?!
The little table setups are adorable :D
That was fun. Unreal that two people in the same house can be at the absolute top level of a game like Dog & Andy.
Commentary was awesome as well. 🤘🏻🔥
Glad you enjoyed the commentary!

this was good. need more of these. ggs.
good news, there's more! : D
@@DK-ZERO nice!
good to see that you are uploading all of the matches! 👍
Damn, it's the first match I ever saw and it is fucking thrilling!
This tetris version looks beautiful
Also nail bitting first game lmao, but looks like they were having fun
where can i play this version of tetris?
Chromatic, a new Gameboy clone, manufactured by this event's sponsor ModRetro
search for ModRetro
This is the most incredible thing I've seen in Tetris. It was a battle of the gods.🙌
I am interested in those chromatic gameboys, it's good to see high level tetris play with almost no mistakes.
What version of Tetris are they playing?

ModRetro version that comes with this little handheld thing called ModRetro (that looks like a GameBoy™)

they're both top rollers but can tap and das on the highest level as well

This game is a masterpiece. It is a shame that it is "stuck" in the chromatic. I'd totally buy a cartridge if they ever release it.

No Rolling 🤣
not on a Gameboy xD
How can you rolling on gameboy
maybe on a GBA you could, needs to be tested 🤔
