If sizes weren't so inconsistent then clothes wouldn't need to be returned as often

Couldn't agree more - I only buy what I really want but often have to buy multiple sizes to ensure the right fit - more stores with stock would be much appreciated- it's definitely not fair to order loads for the sake of it and then send most of it back - definitely not after wearing!!

I totally agree, the sizing is so inconsistent in every different shop you go to.

Here's a crazy idea. Why not have somewhere where you can go in and try on the items, and buy them if you like them and they fit? Maybe like a shop.
My guess is that there are a lot of 'influencers' buying huge 'hauls' to show online and then just sending 90% of it back.

I think that’s the issue ‘influencers’ buying huge amounts. I’ve seen some even say they’re only buying them to show online and will send everything back

I’ve bought no new clothes for over 30 years (I buy EVERYTHING from charity shops) and was always the best-dressed woman at work! Every day 1 or 2 women would stop me in the corridor or after a meeting and compliment me on what I was wearing and no-one ever knew it was a charity shop purchase: and while my colleagues racked up thousands of pounds in credit card debt, I’d go shopping with £20 in my purse and come home with two carrier bags full of goodies!

8:09 yes 93 of the viewers say no shoppers should not pay the return items
But only 4 of the viewers say yes

Realistically the government should push forward stronger consumer rights. Asda will refuse to pay you back after a certain amount of time even if they take the returns back!

I’m 6 foot tall and many brands like Next and Long Tall Sally are only available on line. There are so many inconsistencies in sizing I often have to order two sizes - how would it be fair to charge me and people like me for the returned item?

BTW Zara has the most inconsistent sizing of all - hopeless!

But not everyone can get to the store! Plenty of people are house bound and rely on delivery and collection returns

I always wonder what they do with the returns…
