Hi all! i hope you enjoyed this week's new video! i worked really hard on it. it's a little different, but i hope it inspires you in some way xx Mind sharing it with your friends & giving it a thumbs up? That would mean a lot to me
Connor u inspired me 2 be myself, and 2 live a Dream :) iv probably wouldn't be happy right now if it wasn't 4 you connor thank you for being here 4 me (not physically) But Mentally . I love u Connor 💝 Sorry 4 your lost Connor Franta but Happy that u Do wat You Love Connor ☺
I'm tired, I'm so tired, not from a lack of sleep, but from a sheer amount of disbelief, from seeing this watercolour world we live in slowly turning a light shade of tin, smiles fading to frowns, ups turning to downs, some of us have lost our spark, lost our drive, lost our heart, and frankly I'm tired of it, I'm exhausted by the sight, of lives lacking a certain light, when each and everyone of us deserve that right, do me a favour lend me your ears, keep your eyes peeled place them here, poetry and fancy word play on hold, here's a meaningful story I've never told. You see a couple of weeks ago a day like any other I was heading to meet up with some friends for lunch and for some reason I truly couldn't be bothered with the mess that is Los Angeles parking so I called myself a taxi you see I'm the type of person who likes to make conversation with pretty much anyone and everyone whether it's an old lady at a bus stop or a barista at a coffee shop people are people and they all have something to say, after a few introduction sentences me and this 30 something year old gentlemen realised we are both creative types originally from the Mid West out here in Los Angeles pursuing our many artsy endeavours we continued conversing but quickly things got a little bit deeper he asked me “was your family okay with you moving out to a bigger city and chasing such an alternative career type” “definitely” I said “they're just happy I'm happy and doing something I love everyday” he continued by saying “Good, that's really good you're doing something you're passionate about a lot of people nowadays can't seem to say that” he hesitated slightly but then continued “you know my dad and brother worked night and day for practically their entire lives receiving little pay for doing something they didn't enjoy at all they both always talked about how it'll be worth it one day we can spend our hard earned money later on we will live a good life eventually but you know what neither of them got that my dad died unexpectedly four years ago and my brother just last year they'll never get to live the life they wanted to so it's honestly very nice to see people following their heart and living their life now rather than later” and at that point he dropped me off after only a ten minute car ride I left with a new perspective in my mind life waits for no one if yours isn't going the way you want it to if you aren't pursuing what you want to purse if you wake up with immediate dread constantly saddened by the hours moving through the days feeling lost hurt in a haze holding back you want to say waiting to be yourself another day all your dreams and desires put on hold to be fulfilled maybe when you are old you aren't doing it right you aren't living your life eventually is not okay why tomorrow when there is today I finally feel like I am finding my way and not just living day by day I'm doing what I love I'm going where I want to go I'm being who I want to be I'm happy and you know what I think everyone deserves to feel the same way.
"People are people, and they all have something to say" Possibly one of the best quotes to live by. Connor I love you so much, and keep doing what you're doing.
I can't relate to this so much! I've been losing almost 1500 subs a day for the last month but I'm trying to keep my head up and keep making the content I believe in!! Really like this video man!
I think it's more likely that he worked really hard and put a lot of effort into getting better rather than being born with a talent granted by an all-powerful god.
y'all just watch this video and that's all you have to say.. judging someone else's opinion? if you aren't going to be kind why say anything? mostly when her life doesn't affect yours..
***** Yes, he worked hard, but he didn't begin with this type of skill, did he? He had a knack for it and developed it. If you don't have an eye for cinematography, then working hard still wouldn't produce these results. He's got a gift and he's using it to inspire others.
UniquelyyCarlyy What you're asserting is demonstrably wrong. There may be certain individuals who are born with a genetic predisposition to be good at something, but that's genetics, so they'd have their parents to thank for that, not any supernatural phenomenon.
i remember watching this for the first time and saying this will forever be favorite video on the internet. it's almost two years now and it still is... great job connie.
My eyes are fogged up, Connor. I was diagnosed with social anxiety when I was eleven years old. This disorder has created a thick shield around me... I dropped out of college, lost all my friends, lost the support of important people, lost... everything. I don't get out of my house. I'm scared of the world...of speaking. Your words have so much meaning and you make me believe I can destroy my shield and claim the life I thought was over. Thank You
I listen to this everyday before I go to school. It reminds me that I shouldn't wait to do what I enjoy. I am glad to say that acting is something I enjoy very much and that I have recently gotten a part in my school musical "Alice in Wonderland". Thanks Con. xoxo :)
Obsessed with this. Your videos continue to get better and it's an absolute privilege to get to watch you grow as a person and video maker. Love this, so much.
I loved the style of this video. The mix of spoken word and story telling was so drawing, fascinating and not to mention your words were inspiring! I'd love to see more of these beautiful artistic videos, Connor. Absolutely awe inspiring!!
This hits the same even 6 years after. I'd go here whenever I need a little reminder of why I'm still doing what I'm doing and if I still am happy with it.
This was so amazing. Its made me realize that i will NEVER give up on my dreams. Even though everyone tells me "ethan. youtube is a waste of your time. you'll never be anyone." you know what. theyre wrong. and im going to prove it to them. i will not stop until i achieve my dream. and i hope none of you stop either. guys. we have ONE SHORT life to live. Why waste it not pursuing your dreams?!?!?! you may have to sacrifice some things along the way, but itll all be worth it. youll be doing something you love. the thing you love most in life. Whether its youtube or being a singer or being an athlete or a scientist or a doctor. you can do it. dont let anyone get you dont. dont let anyone tell you that you cant do it. because you can. and you will. dont let ANYTHING get in the way of your dreams. and sure, things will be rough along the way. things wont always go as planned and you will have many times where you just want to give up. but you cant. you wont. because you love this more than you love anything else in the world and you will do anything in your power to achieve your dream. so please. if you fall, get back up again. if you feel down and out, remember that you can and will achieve your dream. You can do it. I can do it. and we will all make it.
Connor, this was incredible. That is the only word that could describe this perfectly, it was creative, beautiful and i'm sure we all can agree we've taken a huge, important message from this video. Thank you
I agree as well. In my opinion, Connor is very unique person, sensitive, smart. He kinda opens my eyes sometimes. The video and the story are delivered in a beautiful way. People who do what they love are blessed. Not everyone has that opportunity, as Connor said himself. It's heartbreaking that there are people who cannot live their dreams. I hope this video can change someone's life.
whenever school stresses seems to get the worst of me, I always turn back to this video. I think it's safe to say this is my favorite video on all of youtube. it stimulates so much tranquility and seems to chill me out and come to a realization that I need to keep going and just aspire to what I want to do. thank you so much connor. it's unfathomable how special this is to me.
I am truly inspired by this video and i want to be myself and i want to do what i love.. But i can't for so many reasons. First of all i'm 15 years old and from most peoples point of view that is "too young" and i have "my whole life ahead of me" and i understand that, i really do but i hate everything that i'm doing right now. Which is nothing. I'm doing nothing. I'm not living, i'm existing. It's the same damn routine everyday. I wake up, i go to school, i sit in school learning nothing and feeling like shit whilst pretending to be all happy and then head back home, do whatever just to go asleep again. I hate everything about my days and i often think about how wonderful it would've been not to have this life. But i can't change my life. I'm stuck in this town. With these people. I can't get out. I'm too young and too dumb.
This is so me but I'm 3 years younger. I had these thoughts a few weeks ago and here: try getting a hobby(yes everyone says that and it gets annoying but if you find something that you truly love to do it will make your day more exciting) try to organise days out with your friends and that and you have the TH-cam community, it is great life is great, find a way to love it ❤️
I relate to you so much except I'm 2 years younger which means i have even less control of my life and even more time before i can fulfill my dreams... I hope things get better for you.
So much has happened in my life since you posted this video, and I can't even begin to explain how much it has helped me. I went to college for almost two years doing something I thought I was expected to do, but not necessarily what I wanted to do. About one semester into my education, it started to slowly drain me of all my energy. Time went by and I slowly lost interest in everything, I wasn't paying attention, I started to slack and procrastinated everything to the very last minute. My grades faded, I failed more and more classes and I was tired to the point where life was exhausting me. I had mental breakdowns pretty much on a daily basis because I knew that I was neglecting the creative drive that I've had my whole life. I was putting my dreams and desires on hold because I thought that I was expected to get my degree and get a "real" job, and to be honest I felt like I was losing track of who I was because of it. Then in January of this year when you posted another inspirational video, A Simple Question, and asked "What do you like to do?" you really got me thinking. I watched that video so many times, and then I went back and re-watched this video, cried my eyes out, watched it again, then again, and again. You provided me with a whole new perspective on my own life and made me realize that I had a lot of thinking to do. On the 11th of February 2015, almost halfway into my college education, I finally decided to take a huge risk and drop out. Aside from coming out of the closet, it was the most relieving thing I have ever done and by far the biggest (and best) decision I have ever made. As of right now, I'm the happiest I've been in a really long time, I'm doing what I love, I'm embracing my creativity, and I'm hopefully getting in to art school by fall. I honestly don't think I would be at this point today if it wasn't for you, so I would like to say thank you. You have literally changed my life for the better, and I am forever grateful for that. I really appreciate everything you put out into the world, and you're a huge inspiration to me. Thank you for everything, I love you.
Wow. You've always been such an inspiration to me and many others. Keep doing what you love because it really shows in your work. I honestly couldn't be more proud of someone over the internet as I am with you.
I know what I'm passionate about I just have serious motivation and procastination issues, so I always just 'put it off'. And I know it's such a hard area to get into so part of me just can't even be bothered trying.
Just try everything, and you will eventually fond it. I tried so many things and I love some more and more and hate some more and more, but that is how it goes. I kind of threw my cares away and just went for things
Connor wow this was amazing literally I can't put this into words how much this video meant the whole thing the script the editing was unbelievable this is honestly the best video you've ever uploaded in my opinion and it has really made me think in a different way about life :))
Dear Person Reading This, Today might've not been the best day. whether you were bullied, you failed a test, you got in a fight with your best friend/parent- whatever it might've been, I want you to know that you're worth it. That I care about you. Today might've been the worst day ever, but tomorrow might be the best day ever! you can't live in the past and focus on the bad that happened yesterday, because you might miss all the amazing possibilities that come to you today! I know it's hard to keep your head up when you feel like the world is against you, but you can do it. I know you can. I hope tomorrow when you wake up tomorrow, you feel happy, and like you're on top of the world! don't fret about the mistakes you've made, because sometimes they can make the best lessons. Sincerely, Me.
I'm gonna die Im gonna kill myself next Monday Sincerely i don't want to Just because of those little things that i love in life But those don't fill up the holes of my failures As sweet and inspiring was this video by connor and your long coment It still won't make me, a born failure A person who succeeds Yes this video and the comments made me happy for a bit But everything goes It was nice while it lasted
You can't do that, there is so much to live for. You've got to be strong, if you can't find reason enough to live keep looking, look somewhere else, be patient. You are not a failure, you are a person. You are so many things, you could give so much to the world. Think of those who have helped you, who love you. If you haven't met people like that, I guarantee you will. Give people a chance, and give yourself a chance. Please.
As an 8th grader, I love my life to the fullest. I get mostly As and one B for P.E., whale I spend 3-4 of the 5 school days in the clubs at my school doing what I love. Singing and dancing in Asomble choir, knitting in nifty knitter's, and helping others in builders club. All at the same time I still have a social life, and help out my nifty knitter's teacher during the first half of MY lunch, witch also makes my heart feel good. I also recently won District in a competition at school for a poem I entered in a competition at school, and am going on to state. I am also planning for my life ahead, for when after high school I will go to Business and Colaneri school, for 4-6 years, and eventually on my own bakery. So I would say I'm living my life to the fullest if I do say so my self. 😊
MutantSushi in my opinion, living life the fullest it doesn't have to be mean that you live wild and free, out of school, wander or whatever. Living life the fullest is just like you're happy with your life and grateful for it. You live your life the way you want it. You do your best at everything. I think Aurora is happy with her life and living the life the fullest in her own way but that just what i think.
MutantSushi your idea of not living life to the fullest might be someone elses idea of being the luckiest person on earth. always remember that :) thats what makes the world such a unique place because there is so many different ways of life
It's great that you're doing what you want, but in the way you worded your comment, you make a big point of telling how much time your activities take up, like giving up half of "MY lunch". But if it makes you happy, do it.
I feel like I need to download this one, put into my ipod and listen to it every morning i go to school. Im on my last year in High School, lately become an adult and after those 18 years I realized I did little things for myself and constantly Ive been living for my parents' expectations. Whenever I talked with my parents or anybody about what do I want to do in life I always was 'dissed' and told off for such a trivial dreams and when times went by I lost myself in one sides love, not feeling needed, feeling fat and ugly, totally different from the society and after three years when I had been learning, learning and learning to make my HUGE dreams come true, my parents told me I should not choose that way. So I didn't. I don't regret it that much, just a little. The way was to get into the best school in my country and with my grades it would be not a problem but in that school students take drugs to not fall behind with studies... I'd be probably the one of those who change schools to run away from that unhealthy environment. Right now, I'm on 3rd year im HS with cool friends, still one sided love and Parents' who don't support me. But thanks to people like you, who has a story to say, who lives longer than me, experienced different situations I think I can do in life what I want to do, be where I want to be. Maybe one day my parents and sibling will understand my feelings? Because whenever I try to speak to them I'm telling off. But really... Your videos somehow makes me sure that I should choose that path (studies abroad) and go for it. Don't know if you will read it but I want to thank you again for all your videos, this one expecialy, I wish you the best, be happy as you are because Dear people will always love you (psssst and so do God ;)))) and I want to promise you I will change. Thanks a lot
It's going to be hard. Keep your heads high when you fell, keep your faith in your heart when evil prevail. Be the person you want to be, do things you want to do. Win or lose, a stranger on Internet holds your back.
I can't believe it's been two years since this video. I remember watching it for the first time and being so mesmerised by the lyrics and visuals. And to this day I still love it just as much.
I listen to this almost every morning to remind me to make my life the way I want it, I'm 15and guy, and its a little bit of struggle, but this vid gives me confidence, cuz now that use come out, I can relate to wat u say in this. Thnx, LUV U Connor.
Haven't seen this video in 4 years, it hits different now that I'm almost 21. Although I must say, whatever it is that's your dream, you have to work to get there. And sometimes it's not easy. Sometimes you are not excited about the day that is ahead of you, it may be boring, it may be hard, but it has to be done to get closer to your overall goal. As long as you find out what is your goal, what is your dream, what is it that you really want to do. And you work to get there little by little every day. For me it was pursuing a career in medicine. And that's not easy. It takes many years, many sleepless nights, a lot of anxiety and a lot of boring days filled with lectures from boring people or just long hours at uni and long nights of studying. It's not fun, but it WILL be worth it one day. And that's what it takes sometimes. You just have to find a way to make your life a bit more fun sometimes😉
ConnorFranta This video inspires me to actually try and achieve my goals instead of sitting on the couch watching TV, I just wanted to say thank you Connor and thank you taxi driver for giving this story to Connor to tell us and once again making our Mondays and our life a little more Frantastic.
I want to live my life the way I would like, but the problem is that I'm federally required to go to school everyday. It's really sad because I could die tomorrow and have accomplished absolutely nothing other then being locked in a building learning things I'm not interested in surrounded by people and situations I dislike. I feel like I'm waiting for my life to begin, but I would have no future if I didn't pursue higher education. This is an incredible video, though. Very important message to those who have other choices and are waiting for "someday." I loved the shots, too. Truly inspiring.
I know how you feel. It sucks that going to school is a law. We're just here waiting until our life begins, and time is being waisted by that. Yeah education may be important, but not as important to living your life.
But some people have to fight for the right to go to school. Take malalah for example. She got shit in the face by the Taliban and continues to fight for women's education in her country and others around the world. #firstworldproblems
Rainbow Darkness and I never denied that. Some people do want to go to school and are denied the right, while some others who have the opportunity go and are miserable. It all depends on who you are. However, those fighting for all people to have the opportunity and right for education are brave and very honorable.
But you can't really go live your life without an exucation. Yes school can get annoying but if you really wanna get somewhere in life it's all about knowledge
The thing is, I watch these videos and I get so happy and excited to go do what I want but I just can't. I'm in high school. I can't make money, I can't travel, I can't do what I want to do, I can't follow my dreams because I'm stuck in this cycle of staying up studying and surviving on few hours of sleep. I want to get out of that so bad but I honestly can't. I just hope life waits enough for me to get out of here.
Oh don't worry, been there, felt that. Thankfully, life is still around for about 60+ years after High School is over. High School is actually a very short, small part of life. And yes, it sucks, but if you remember that one day when you're 30; 4 years will seem like nothing to you, you can actually just say "ok, I'm here now, for now, let's get the most out of it." Don't worry about making friends. I wouldn't have believed myself saying this when I was in high school, but all the adults are right - most people you meet in high school exit your life within a few years of graduation. Focus on learning about what you, personally, want to do with the rest of your life. Meet people after High School, after you've focused on your and know who you are. Spend high school planning your adulthood - use the time now where you're not required to work at a job to figure out what kind of job you need in order to do the things you want to do as an adult. High School isn't the part of life for experiencing the world; its the part of life for planning all the experiences you will have when its over. Trust me. I've done this. :)
I was thinking the same thing like school is awful and I can't just drop out. I think what I took away from this is find another passion or hobby, and after school is over, you don't have to worry about it, do something creative and interesting to you.
See im in university, i think thats like college in america, and i write, i love writing but i hate my course because it is not the stuff i love writing it is poetry and analysis essays, but i cant drop out because i need to get established in the writing world, this is the only way to do it
U need school to do what you want. The world won't accept uneducated, untalented people. School allows you to socialize, find what you want in life, gives you choices and find your talent. Why not start by being appreciative. Appreciate that you are given a chance to learn unlike many other people around the world.
this is a perfect example of " easier said than done" , you can't just go do what you want , what if it doesn't pay enough for life necessities like rent and food , i spend my whole days going to school and then I'll probably spend them working on something I don't really like just to survive , but there are moments where I can enjoy myself doing something I really like or just having fun with friends and that's what makes life special for the average person , life for most people isn't about just doing what you want , it's more like adapting and accepting your fate to be able to find happiness
there are some simple things in life that nobody WANTS to do, but they still have to be done. Those people don't chase their dreams, because they know how they are affecting others.
Six months later this is still my absolute favourite video of all time on youtube ever on earth ever ever ever ever ever I have watched it approximately 405938289283747 times
I really liked this video when I first saw it last week, but after watching your coming out video, the things you're saying make even more sense. Connor, I am beyond proud of you
As someone who's brother died to early I can say, there's living and there's being alive. Befor my brother died he told me about all the things he wish he could have done instead of "wasting his life in studying and stressing out" he too talked about how he would have fun later in life... This video reminds me of him, and I'm thankful for that because I never want to forget him. He died at age 20 from lung and brain cancer and I just want to say that life is beautiful, you just need to live it to it's full. I love this video Conner and love your channel but I love most that your an amazing role model and great thinker unlike a lot of the modern youtubers. Keep doing you
Did anyone else turn this on when you read the part in the book?? If you didn't I did and let me tell you, it was amazing, I've listened to this video hundreds of times because it helps me get through the day. It honestly felt like Connor was here sitting next to me on the floor of my room, with a gentle breeze flowing through my open window on a hot day, reading "Life Doesn't Wait" to me. Thank you Connor for writing your book, and for creating your first video and this video, Thank you.
TH-camrs are really getting into their poetry and inspirational videos these days, with Troye & Jack making similar videos. It's cool seeing creators pushing others to be creative and pursue what they love.
My horse inspires me, without my horse I wouldn't have been the same person I am today. She was the only one that kept me going even though I've hit the bottom, she was there for me and cared for me in her own way that no one else can, she taught me that its okay to be myself and that no matter how many times you fall you just cant give up. The feeling I get when i'm around her is simply amazing, all the problems just disappear and theres only me and her, working together in harmony, side by side. She feels like family to me and I can't imagine a life without her, she truly means the world to me and that scares me sometimes. She shaped me into a better person and for that I am forever thankful, friendship is truly about who came and never left
narkles91 I love being outdoors even tough its kinda boring if you're on your own (: Her name is Jojo, its a Swedish name and I bought her two years ago (: xx
holy shit! this was so good. i'm inspired to get up, stop wasting my life watching netflix and eating chips. surprisingly, it makes me wanna actually get out and do something, whether it's fitness, film/edit 29 videos, or just something rather than nothing. i also love how you are influencing your audience to do whatever they desire as long as it makes them happy, instead of falling under the pressure of a friend/parent. keep it up, connor!
Joy Lofton If you like spoken word, go check out The strivers row on here. They came to my university and they are so good! Powerful messages all around.
A freaking year ago!! I remember everything about the first time watching this video. EVERYTHING. Where I was, how busy I was with school (I was in my test week), my room was being changed so I slept in another room, how I watched this video everyday in my test week, to get motivated to do what I love... obviously this video left a huge impression on me. It's what made me a fan of Connor (wait so that means yesterday was my Connorversary😁). Of course I watched the video yesterday, and I still watch it a lot. It still inspires me. THANK YOU CONNOR FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. It literally changed my life.
You, Connor franta brought me to tears. I've struggled 2 years with depression, eating disorders, and many more that no one should live through. I found many ways to harm myself. I've been diagnosed with anxiety at 12. Looking at my life, with bulimia/anorexia, being suicidal, taking medication to keep me happy and not having a panic attack, going in and out of hospitals, I'm obviously not living the life I want to live. I live in a dark place, I didn't intend on being here when I skipped my first meal, or purged the first meal I ate that week, or when I made that first cut, cried the first tear of sadness. But here I am. Thinking that I can't do anything about it, but I can. I can flush my blades down the toilet, instead of forced throw-up. I can eat and not purge after. I can eat normally so I can get out of this stupid hospital. I can be happy if I chose to. But what your video made me realize is I'm not doing anything about it. And I should. Thankyou, for helping me eat. Just thought I should put that out there so you know you inspired someone :) I'm sure many more. I love you.
I showed my science teacher this video and I kept telling me how inspiring it was and until we finished watching it he was speechless.. he saw a brand new perspective of life and so did I. he had no words and was so touched about this video and he couldn't believe me when I told him you inspire me.. he kept telling me you are just a TH-camr but then I showed him this.. I showed him this.. and now he really knows why I watch your videos.. Why I'm happy.. Why you inspire me. You inspired me and so many people including my teacher who didn't get why your videos made my day.. now he knows and now he knows how inspiring you are.
whoever has connor's book, watch this while reading it. i loved it so much i swear this is like the 10th time i've watched this and if you read the book while listening to connor talk, both would sound even better than it already is 😍😍😍😍😍 he's my inspiration ❤️ PS who's watching this on 2016?
This was amazing. I immediately knew this video was going to be one of your best yet . I felt shivers, the type of shivers I get when I feel experience something emotional, like the fault in our stars. I love your videos, I love your creations, I just love the idea of you l. I also love all the other youtubers. You all are so inspiring, time and time again you manage to make me smile when I'm relapsing into depression. Thank you. If it wasn't for you I dont think I would be alive right now. And for that I am eternally grateful.
This video is really amazing and so true, but makes me sad. Because I feel exactly like I am just waiting til life gets better. My life isn't going the way I want to and I could say that I am not happy. I'm waiting for the future, hoping that my life changes, and that eventually I'll be happy. I know I'm still young, but I am sixteen already and I feel like I'm wasting my teenage years hoping that everything changes "eventually". Ugh. I'm really sad now. Absolutely great video though.
Agreed. We are taught not to take risks and to pick a career that will guarantee us a job and that if you work hard in high school and college you can enjoy life later. I have already wasted so much of my High school years and now as a senior I am starting to wonder if the path Im headed on is really what I want to do. i lost myself in the process and I am honestly not sure who I am anymore. My dreams turned into other peoples and I ended up with none of my own.Now I am struggling trying to figure out what they really are. Should I take the safe path or a risk? I don't know because the so called safe path is failing me and I don't know what to do anymore. I didn't enjoy myself in high school because I worked too hard focusing on what would get me that career and in the process I didn't get to explore and now I am questioning if its what I really want to do anymore. I regret not enjoying it more.
Liking, commenting, Facebooking, Tweeting and favouriting this video isn't enought to show how inspirated i got by this! This video is literally perfect and it have a huge point in it! Life doesn't wait!
Ilovebiscuits1001 It's okay, I do it too sometimes. It's a habit and my friends do it too, it's like an inside joke. Others may not get it, but just ignore them. :)
I love that you made this video, bc people need to realize life is fragile and you never know when its gonna be gone. I was in a bad car accident where the person sitting right next to me died on impact, no word can describe how it felt looking to your right and seeing a lifeless body, and then you look at yourself and you don't have a scratch on you. Everybody is given something special, life. And you need to make the best of it, because its possibly all you got, and you never know. So be happy do what you want to do, after my accident I'm pursuing my life long love of photography and getting my bachelors in it. And trying to live life to the fullest everyday because I know thats what my friend would have wanted. Please be thankful for what you have and be happy for being here. Great video Connor
This is all I needed to hear right now. Connor, thank you so much for creating something so simply put and so simply beautiful to me. I have lost sight of who I am recently and what I want to be as well. I needed to hear something like this. I'm ready to find myself again. I have you to thank for that...
To be honest, Jesus Christ inspires me. Knowing that God created this world so beautifully. And that he loved us so much that he put His OWN breath into us when we were created. And even though, we fell and sinned, he still had an unconditional love for us. He sent his ONLY Son to come to this earth and suffer a horrible death just so that we can be forgiven. But also to show that he's still all powerful, he rose His Son from the dead. Jesus is alive! And now even though we still sin, when we ask for forgiveness, he forgives us. And no matter how far away you stray, even if you say that you hate God, or that He doesn't exist, He still loves you and there's nothing that can stop that. We should all be like Him...
Wow Connor, I can't even put into words how this video made me feel. I've been having this thought for such a long time now and just before I clicked this video I was stressing out about how I'm 'wasting' my life learning and doing things at school that I just simply don't care about. To so many people it just sounds ridiculous, and that 'all school subjects are so so important' but like it's hard to comprehend how terrible it is to have to put your life on hold and learn 'the square root of x and y and ugh' when you know what you want to do with your life, when you have a passion that you're striving for. Locking a creative person in a building with no creativity every single day is just hell. If it was up to me, I would be chasing after my dreams, I would take my video camera and travel; filming everything around me and try to inspire others along the way. School makes me very unhappy because it's keeping me away from what makes me happy: filmmaking. Thank you for making this video Connor. I love the style and how poetic it is, it's very inspirational.
I feel the exact same, once I'm out of school and college I want to be a film maker a book writer a voice actor an anime creator thanks to this video I can be happy when I grow up
Me too I feel the same way when I leave school collage and university I want to be a professional dancer and their might be so many beautiful extravagant dancers that are better than me but I will never care because I will be doing what I love whether it's teaching in a school or dancing in the west end I won't care because I will enjoy every minute of it.
I honestly hate school so much, and I'm not one of those people who suck at school (I'm in ap classes) but we're just learning unnecessary things and it's just overall stupid
Oh, god. This is so me. Literally. I never seem to wake up with a smile on my face, like ever, and it's sad to think about how many hours of school I have in front of me every morning. They make up x amount of hours less of my life, just gone like that, totally in vain(Mostly).
Connor, i just wanna let u know that this video really helped me today. My cousin is still suffering from brain cancer, and my grandma died at around noon today. You are so amazing. Thank u for being u. You dont know how much i appreciate your hard work. Cant wait to see you at vidcon💖
This may be my all time favorite video of Connor's. It is so evident in his voice how much this topic impacted him. He was certain that many individuals struggles, in different ways. He had to seek himself to think this through. I'm really proud of this video and Connor.
I remember downloading this video to my phone and listening every morning when i go to school. Now that i hear it again, even though it is really inspiring, ''live your life, do what you love'' mindset is just a big balloon. There are so many people who aren't born with the privileges 'normal people' born with. People who live in a 2nd or 3rd world country probably don't think about following their passion. We have to get into a good university in a practical subject so that maybe we can immigrate to a better country to live like a proper human being. If you watch this video and feel sad that you can't live your life the way you want to be, please don't blame yourself.
Dear Connor, i want to thank you. For the things you make me feel when you make a video. I feeling down sometimes and when I watch you videos I feel a bit better every time. This videos wasn't like the "normal" videos you make but I made me feel inspired. I was feeling down for a long time and I was feeling that down that I didn't want to live anymore. And that wasn't the feeling I want to have for the rest of my life. Thats why I'm in a hospital at the moment. And sentences like: "I'm happy. And you know what? Everyone deserves to feel the same way. " shows me that there is a reason for being in the hospital: TO FEEL HAPPY AGAIN. I'm so thankful that you are here and you are one of the persons who won't let me give up. THANKS FOR BEING JUST THERE, CONNOR. AND BEING WHO YOU ARE. THE PERSON THAT INSPIRES ME. THE PERSON THAT MAKES ME SMILE WITH EVERYTHING HE DO. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤😊🙊🙉🙈
It's crazy the fact I loved this video so much, that I write all the words down and I read it almost every single day. And behold, in your book is the words to this video! It's still my favourite video you've ever made.
I came back to this video two years later and see my old comment lol. It's crazy how much I've changed. I remember how much his video inspired me, and I'm glad I re-discovered it. Thank you again so much Connor. I'm gonna try to continue listening to this and hope it inspires me like it did a couple years ago.
Literally so fucking inspired by you connor .You seem like you're finding yourself still and trying new things not just the usual youtube challenges stuff and i love it.This is beautiful film making connor. Ive been going through a depression and im starting to feel better. This is just one more thing that i needed. we're the same age, im 21 and there is honestly nothing better than young people inspiring young people. Great video connor :)
Briana Caniff Reese C. Villanueva what you said is very true, but I'm too young to do what I want to do that is why I'm getting better at being patient. And just waiting for the time, but also wasting my time.
This popped up on my home page at 1 am. I haven't watched it since it came out and it's crazy how times have changed. I guess this is a sign from the universe.

+Madi Ashley OH MY GOD SAME
I'm going to remember that
I'm tired, I'm so tired, not from a lack of sleep, but from a sheer amount of disbelief, from seeing this watercolour world we live in slowly turning a light shade of tin, smiles fading to frowns, ups turning to downs, some of us have lost our spark, lost our drive, lost our heart, and frankly I'm tired of it, I'm exhausted by the sight, of lives lacking a certain light, when each and everyone of us deserve that right, do me a favour lend me your ears, keep your eyes peeled place them here, poetry and fancy word play on hold, here's a meaningful story I've never told.
Thank you so much for writing the text!

"People are people, and they all have something to say"
Possibly one of the best quotes to live by. Connor I love you so much, and keep doing what you're doing.
I know right?
I can't relate to this so much! I've been losing almost 1500 subs a day for the last month but I'm trying to keep my head up and keep making the content I believe in!! Really like this video man!

Yes!
I LOVE your videos and truly I agree..
Kevin! Im glad you are watching these videos!
Omg i love u!!!
Ikr? It totally mind-fucked me for a second.
Your eye for photography & film & editing is perfect. You were born with a God-given talent, Connor. You're amazing.
I think it's more likely that he worked really hard and put a lot of effort into getting better rather than being born with a talent granted by an all-powerful god.
***** thank you.
y'all just watch this video and that's all you have to say.. judging someone else's opinion? if you aren't going to be kind why say anything? mostly when her life doesn't affect yours..
I listen to this video every morning.
Literally 😄
same! great way to start your day 😊
Me to!
+Sarah Raed omg yaas!
Sarah Raed I read the words every week

My eyes are fogged up, Connor.
I was diagnosed with social anxiety when I was eleven years old.
This disorder has created a thick shield around me...
I dropped out of college, lost all my friends, lost the support of important people, lost... everything. I don't get out of my house. I'm scared of the world...of speaking.
Your words have so much meaning and you make me believe I can destroy my shield and claim the life I thought was over.
Thank You
Please talk to me if you ever need to okay?
This brought tears to my eyes, because I know I'm not living my life the way I want to and I'm so afraid that I never will.
I listen to this everyday before I go to school. It reminds me that I shouldn't wait to do what I enjoy. I am glad to say that acting is something I enjoy very much and that I have recently gotten a part in my school musical "Alice in Wonderland". Thanks Con. xoxo :)
we have the same last name
Sadarah Barr Cool! people always make fun of my last name, although it means that I get out of class first :)
+Natalie Barr we also did alice in wonderland :) what part do you have?
daisy, one of the cardsmen and a backup role for the mad hatter.
Sorry, my phone is buggy
Obsessed with this. Your videos continue to get better and it's an absolute privilege to get to watch you grow as a person and video maker. Love this, so much.
I couldn't say it any better myself :) connor you're truly an inspiration
aw thanks benjamin! that means a lot
I love u Conner Franta u bring meaning to my life :) keep the good work
I loved the style of this video. The mix of spoken word and story telling was so drawing, fascinating and not to mention your words were inspiring! I'd love to see more of these beautiful artistic videos, Connor. Absolutely awe inspiring!!
Same! If Connor made more, it would just be so absolutely incredible! :D
I've seen a few of these lately. They really are awe inspiring aren't they! :)
I just want to screenshot every moment because it's such instagram perfection!
We all want to see another one just like this!
Love love love this, it's so well done!
This is so inspiring. Awesome work
Omg its the swag master
I love you Laina!
I subscribed after reading this comment, more people like you need to be put on this planet.
Your perspective towards life was changed in a 10minute car drive and mine in a 3 minutes and 24 seconds TH-cam video.
Connor, this was incredible.
That is the only word that could describe this perfectly, it was creative, beautiful and i'm sure we all can agree we've taken a huge, important message from this video.
Thank you
Perfect! This comment sums up everything great with this video :)
ps. love your videos Alex!!
Agreed, connor you're super creative and it was an amazing story to tell..
I hope this video can change someone's life.
am i the only one reading along with him in his book? or nah
I'm also doing that :)
Me too!!!
sammeee
SAME 😁
omqbree i'm writing it down in my phone but i'm about to get his book cos theres a word I can't understand what it is.
whenever school stresses seems to get the worst of me, I always turn back to this video. I think it's safe to say this is my favorite video on all of youtube. it stimulates so much tranquility and seems to chill me out and come to a realization that I need to keep going and just aspire to what I want to do. thank you so much connor. it's unfathomable how special this is to me.
i feel the same way! this video and troye's "Becoming You" are my top inspirational videos I always watch
aboutdreamin I'm exactly the same!!!
SAME. I was literally sobbing over a final grade earlier, and turned to this video. It really puts life into perspective.
Agreed
***** i mean midterms and stuff is going on. and it depends on what classes you take. i just like knowing that this video is here ya know? :)
Connor i am actually speechless, this is amazing thank you so much for actually being a original and creative youtuber, i respect you so much!!
I completely relate to this :(
You are young... And after this time you will do something... Something amazing for you... I know you can
I fell you, I wake up every morning and my day goes the exact same as yours and I'm getting sick and tired of it!
I honestly couldn't be more proud of someone over the internet as I am with you.
thanks so much guys!
Exactly
I don't know about others, but for me it's finding what I'm passionate about that's the hardest part.
Omg same! I literally have no idea what I'm passionate about so I can't follow my dreams because I have no idea what I like.
I kind of threw my cares away and just went for things
you will find your passion one day! you won't see it coming, you won't even know it's happening until one day, you're like damn...i found it
don't worry, you will eventually find what you're passionate about. But don't forget, always be doing something!
This was simply so inspirational an beautiful connor. Thank you for this and working so hard on it, you're amazing and so incredible.
Ily
Inspirational af
but the outro scared the shit out of me
This was simply so inspirational an beautiful connor. Thank you for this and working so hard on it, you're amazing.

Connor wow this was amazing literally I can't put this into words how much this video meant the whole thing the script the editing was unbelievable this is honestly the best video you've ever uploaded in my opinion and it has really made me think in a different way about life :))
brilliant :))))
Dear Person Reading This,
Today might've not been the best day. whether you were bullied, you failed a test, you got in a fight with your best friend/parent- whatever it might've been, I want you to know that you're worth it.
Sincerely,
Me.
(: love you
honestly this helped so much I got in huge trouble with my parents today and this just made it all seem okay
That's was beautiful :) thank you so much! Xo
I'm gonna die
Im gonna kill myself next Monday
Sincerely i don't want to
Just because of those little things that i love in life
But those don't fill up the holes of my failures
As sweet and inspiring was this video by connor and your long coment
It still won't make me, a born failure
A person who succeeds
Yes this video and the comments made me happy for a bit
But everything goes
It was nice while it lasted
You can't do that, there is so much to live for. You've got to be strong, if you can't find reason enough to live keep looking, look somewhere else, be patient. You are not a failure, you are a person. You are so many things, you could give so much to the world. Think of those who have helped you, who love you. If you haven't met people like that, I guarantee you will. Give people a chance, and give yourself a chance. Please.
I come back here each and every day because it calms me down and gives me hope. ♥
If you're in school, you're not living life to the fullest.
Everyone has an opinion some people want to make it somewhere in life..
This video was beautifully shot, beautifully edited, beautifully... beautiful.
Makes me proud to say I've been subscribed to you for years.
Win or lose, a stranger on Internet holds your back.
thank you, i will try my best. it must work at the end, musnt it.
I can't believe it's been two years since this video. I remember watching it for the first time and being so mesmerised by the lyrics and visuals. And to this day I still love it just as much.

:))))
ConnorFranta :)
Important message and amazing video! Great job, Connor :D
Hii
You guys are great
I love you guys!
You guys are hilarious!
How have you been now, a year or so later?
I have this link copied into my notes so when I'm upset, this will be the first thing I go to. This turned my day around completely.
glad it made you feel better!
ConnorFranta This video inspires me to actually try and achieve my goals instead of sitting on the couch watching TV, I just wanted to say thank you Connor and thank you taxi driver for giving this story to Connor to tell us and once again making our Mondays and our life a little more Frantastic.
same! and omg connor hi
Jillian C same, have all the lyrics word for word copied down.
XNinja_heartx all true.
I think every TH-camr should make a video like this. I hope the trend starts.
It would seriously be a miracle if Dan made one like this. That would be hilarious, considering his latest video. XD
Me too that would be a awesome trend.
Good idea! I think I'll make one then(:
I'm thinkig of making one... Let's all make one and get it started because I live for these
I'm still obsessed with this video
Omg same
+Tamara Black me too
This video deserves so much more credit
not really he just copied troye and jacksgaps videos. you should watch theirs.
ryanfiki I do he gave them credit for the idea but it's still good
ryanfiki He didn't copy, he got inspiration from their videos, he gave them credit for it too so..
And yes, it sucks, but if you remember that one day when you're 30; 4 years will seem like nothing to you, you can actually just say "ok, I'm here now, for now, let's get the most out of it."
Don't worry about making friends.
He didn't say that it's gonna be easy.
no one said it was gonna be easy !! it is sweat and blood that you are putting into this for it to happen !!
there are some simple things in life that nobody WANTS to do, but they still have to be done. Those people don't chase their dreams, because they know how they are affecting others.
Six months later this is still my absolute favourite video of all time on youtube ever on earth ever ever ever ever ever I have watched it approximately 405938289283747 times
But there's not that many views
itsnikobro of course, I'd love to! X
TH-camrs4life lol
Can I just say that the background music and Outro music would make such a good remix.
Do you know what the actual background music is? His link is just to a website...
I was kinda looking for it too :( Searched in comments and stuff but I honestly couldn't find it :/ I would love to know though.
stwo - lovin you
Oh god thanks!
Thank you!
I really liked this video when I first saw it last week, but after watching your coming out video, the things you're saying make even more sense.
Connor, I am beyond proud of you
These were my exact thoughts !
Sonny O same, I am so proud of him, being honest and accepting your true self is not easy, I'm very glad that he did
As someone who's brother died to early I can say, there's living and there's being alive.
Another reason added to the list of "Why I love Connor Franta" Ut was simply beautiful🌹
*it
I'm literally fangirling😭
I have two horse penny and bolt they make me feel the same way
this actually almost made me cry
Sarah Rosales this did make me cry
holy shit! this was so good. i'm inspired to get up, stop wasting my life watching netflix and eating chips. surprisingly, it makes me wanna actually get out and do something, whether it's fitness, film/edit 29 videos, or just something rather than nothing. i also love how you are influencing your audience to do whatever they desire as long as it makes them happy, instead of falling under the pressure of a friend/parent.
keep it up, connor!
for those of you confused, connor was quoting the taxi driver. the taxi driver lost his brother and father.
I hope you make more videos like this: poetry in motion.
Yesss
Spoken word maybe?
I love spoken word
Joy Lofton If you like spoken word, go check out The strivers row on here. They came to my university and they are so good! Powerful messages all around.
I loved this so much :) great job Connor!
Jana you should do one these about your life
A freaking year ago!! It literally changed my life.
i'm so speechless. like wow. it's absolutely perfect.
I agree absolutely 💕👌
I love you.
Wow, that is to much for one person to Handel...😥, but stay strong you ARE amazing!
You are not alone, always keep that in mind
The Frantafamily is here
I showed my science teacher this video and I kept telling me how inspiring it was and until we finished watching it he was speechless.. he saw a brand new perspective of life and so did I. he had no words and was so touched about this video and he couldn't believe me when I told him you inspire me.. he kept telling me you are just a TH-camr but then I showed him this.. I showed him this.. and now he really knows why I watch your videos.. Why I'm happy.. Why you inspire me. You inspired me and so many people including my teacher who didn't get why your videos made my day.. now he knows and now he knows how inspiring you are.
whoever has connor's book, watch this while reading it. i loved it so much i swear this is like the 10th time i've watched this and if you read the book while listening to connor talk, both would sound even better than it already is 😍😍😍😍😍 he's my inspiration ❤️
PS who's watching this on 2016?
I am🙆
+Thei Lindero thats what i did. It was great
Just finished the book and I did that😭❤️
This was amazing.
Stay strong
Thank you so much
This video is really amazing and so true, but makes me sad.
I feel exactly the same
I would reccomend danisnotonfire's quarter life crisis trilogy
Liking, commenting, Facebooking, Tweeting and favouriting this video isn't enought to show how inspirated i got by this! This video is literally perfect and it have a huge point in it! Life doesn't wait!
*inspired...
Ilovebiscuits1001 who cares about the fucking typo, he's right
sorry, it just bugs me :/ I didn't mean to offend anyone :(
Gudrun Jonsdottir gosh girl she was just correcting him no need to be so rude
Ilovebiscuits1001 It's okay, I do it too sometimes. It's a habit and my friends do it too, it's like an inside joke. Others may not get it, but just ignore them. :)
connor is too tumblr
and I love it.
This is so inspiring I just can't
Sammeeeeee!!
Great video Connor
can you please out this on iTunes!?!!? i really want to buy this!!
YYYYEEEESSSS!!!!!!!
i've had a couple people saying that & that was never a thought that crossed my mind, but, uh, idk maybe! haha
Ya so many people need this on those tough days
ConnorFranta You definitely should. I would love this on my iPod!
Yes! I need this as a daily reminder. Not only because I love Conners voice, but some people need to be inspired by this everyday.
*rewatches as reading a work in progress*
Literally me.
Franuccino Coffee right I read the book and went back to this video
Franuccino Coffee same this one of my favorite video by him
2019 and this will still forever be one of my favorite videos
I feel like it's a prequel of his coming out
SAME THOUGH!
This is all I needed to hear right now. Connor, thank you so much for creating something so simply put and so simply beautiful to me. I have lost sight of who I am recently and what I want to be as well. I needed to hear something like this. I'm ready to find myself again. I have you to thank for that...
this is weird seeing this because my uncle (he's not really my uncle but hes my dads good friend) is that taxi driver
+Quincy Smith (Q the unitato) Really?
ya
wow how do you know?
How do you know your uncle is the taxi driver?
Jorja he called me and told me the exact same story except from his point of view
This was beautiful Connor
Agreed
Even after 8 years, i keep coming back to this. This video has a special place in my heart
This was so inspiring and eye-opening. The concept, the story, the poetry, the editing, just beautiful. Thank you Connor!
And also I just saw the first 20 seconds and thought "omg this reminds me of Troye's and Jack's videos" and you said they were your inspirations!!!
April Xu same :) could somebody link jack's video ?
Connor, i just wanna let u know that this video really helped me today. My cousin is still suffering from brain cancer, and my grandma died at around noon today. You are so amazing. Thank u for being u. You dont know how much i appreciate your hard work. Cant wait to see you at vidcon💖
You're gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay. Everything's gonna be okay.
We can never guarantee good - but I can guarantee you're going to be okay.
Max Z. thank u so much
This may be my all time favorite video of Connor's.
It's still my favourite video you've ever made.
omfg he should be a songwriter
Stephanie Franta He's good a TH-camr. This is not a song, its just like a poem with a tune playing in the background.
I came back to this video two years later and see my old comment lol. It's crazy how much I've changed. I remember how much his video inspired me, and I'm glad I re-discovered it. Thank you again so much Connor. I'm gonna try to continue listening to this and hope it inspires me like it did a couple years ago.
no words. none.
Well except...
Connor, you inspire me and so many others so much. Keep doing what you love. Thank you.
*Life doesn't wait*
Literally so fucking inspired by you connor .You seem like you're finding yourself still and trying new things not just the usual youtube challenges stuff and i love it.This is beautiful film making connor. Ive been going through a depression and im starting to feel better. This is just one more thing that i needed. we're the same age, im 21 and there is honestly nothing better than young people inspiring young people. Great video connor :)
The sad thing is... When you're sad, you don't know what makes you happy anymore.
//
When you're happy anything can make you turn that smile down.
that's why you have to go out there & find out what makes you happy!
