I thought it seemed interesting to examine how it would be to do Straightness Training with a Parelli halter ;-)
    And it was fun!
Normally I work with a cavesson and a curb.
But a method should not only depend on tools, it is more communication between trainer and horse.

I used my halter while I waited for my cavesson to come my horse wasn’t a fan of LFS in it but it still worked well!!!!!! I’m doing straightness training with a 6 yr old stock horse and my instructor told me to watch your videos which always help btw 😊😊

Thank you for posting this video, Marijke! I don't have a cavesson and have been following your videos for sometime now while experimenting with a rope halter such as the one you are using in the video. I appreciate knowing that ST can be done even without a cavesson although I hope to acquire one in the future. I'm so happy to know I'm Ok for now with the rope halter and the my progress can continue with confidence. Thanks again!

hmmm, since the horse was not trained to do this work in a rope halter the only thing you can say about this work is that it is a test of your communication and training with other tools so far. Much like working at liberty is a test of the truth of your work to that point. You should consider re-titling your video to maybe "Test of ST communications using a ROPE halter".

Wow!!! I am really impressed. When I saw your videos with Maestro, I thought your technique would only work with a Baroque style horse. The brown horse in this video shows me this could work with my Thoroughbred. Thank you for such inspiration.

aye, I find that when the horse is minimally well schooled to be soft and responsive, any halter will do as they normally respond to the neck reins and our body language, not really the halter. I only notice a difference on "heavy" horses. the ones who're a bit deaf to the cues

Great, but please do not credit parelli with this halter. It is simply a knotted rope halter. I make them myself and can assure you PP did not invent this:)

Very nice. Is it classical dressage or also Parelli ?
