I watched both and they both have great storylines. It's in the same genre. I am a HUGE fan of TWD and I met the cast especially the elusive Andy, I own the DVD's and I think I've watched each Episode at least 6-10 times. It's an Amazing character evolution fron Season 1 to the end, especially with Andrew Lincoln (Rick).
TLOU... Same concept but lacked zombie- creatures- clickers. We got them at the beginning plus an explanation of how they function but they faded away as the show went on. In TWD the walkers were a threat throughout the series and the characters learned how to deal with them as time went on. There was Less character development in TLOU, Joel went from one extreme to another in Quicker time, it was only 9 eps long and he went from being quiet and annoyed to more acceptable of what his mission was in that he had to protect Ellie where it took Rick 9 seasons to go through what he went to through to get to where he was before being "taken" in ep5 Season 9 and Rick had to lead a whole entire group straight from the gate. The character development of Rick was amazing. Andy had to reconstruct his character from the 1st 6 episodes to the final 6 eps of each season for 9 seasons. That's talent.
TWD has more detail and longer character arcs and slower paced. You see the characters progress and digress and go down different paths of emotions... Highs and lows depending on their losses and situations each character was put into. As a fan, observer we got more attached to TWD characters than we did TLOU characters.
TLOU lacked that pace and it was more Joel is like this "now" and Ellie is like this "now" but last episode he was like "that" and she was like "that" leaving us wandering why they are acting different from one ep to another. We didn't really get the in-between visuals and understanding but it was left up to assumptions and I felt Joel wasn't attentive to Ellie having to deal with cannibals and almost being eaten and raped. It would have been nice to see that interaction and discussion but He just waved spaghetti o's in her face and showed her a giraffe.
I will say He did kick Ass for her at the end, he saved her but IMO it's Swiss Cheese writing with a ton of todays propaganda weaved in.
If i had to choose between the 2 it's TWD all the way.

No. The post apocalyptic survival drama adaptation that, quote, "didn't work," was Sweet Tooth. A show that, after spending years in development hell, is JUST NOW about to get its second season. Something that's probably only happening now, due to Netflix noticing the success of an adaptation like the Last of Us. Which is what Sweet Tooth was essentially trying to be, before Netflix gave up on it prematurely.

TWD was my favorite TV series ever at one point. For me, it fell off in Season 7 & 8, they dragged Negan on way too long & killing Carl off was like killing off the whole point of the show. Rick's whole reason for surviving was Carl. I stopped watching after Season 10, then I recently just watched the very last episode just to watch it. TWD is still the best zombie series ever imo. Me & my family used to get together on Sunday nights just to watch it as if it were the Superbowl. A lot of people are claiming that the Korean zombie shows "Kingdom" & "All of Us Are Dead" are better that TWD. Imo, Kingdom Season 1 was solid but Season 2 is already starting to fall off imo. As for AOUAD, it was just okay, I really didn't think it was all that. And this is coming from a Korean movie lover, who thinks Koreans produces the best movies. TWD is still the King of zombie series. I think TLOU is good so far, but I think having played the game & already knowing the story makes me not enjoy it as much. If it was a fresh experience for me, I might love it more. I also dislike that the infected didn't really feel like a threat, they should've had more of them.

I tried really hard to stay with The Walking Dead because I hit the ground running as a fan, but after every season I would kind of love it last of us. Seasons four and five will probably be a High Point for me because of the contrast between they were vs who they are now, but I pretty much turned it off on a cliffhanger episode where Rick chases Negan, but never felt the urge to put it on again. I really appreciated the novelty of a zombie show but it started feeling like Grey’s Anatomy, where they were introduced somebody, shared their backstory then decide if they get to live or die, which is just a gimmick to make you feel like you lost a friend, or feel safe, because your friend survived. Then feel like that was an emotional rollercoaster.

The monster in TLOU are alot more scarier for sure ,but there is more of a focus on the people it seems you also have to consider the fact that TWD is much closer in time to the original outbreak, if you go another 8 years in the future, you would have much more of a government or military control then they do. I'm pretty sure that means they're absolutely NOT going to kill off Joel's character anytime soon. If anything I predict they won't kill him until the end of the series or right before the last season at the soonest. If it doesn't, that will be because the creators don't intend for the story to go that long. My guess is it will go *until* a season 5 or so: Part II of the game will be seasons 2 and 3, and then I really would be surprised if a Part III doesn't happen, so I can see them releasing the game either shortly before or alongside a seasons 4 and 5 for the show. But beyond that, yeah, it probably wouldn't go on much longer, not out of any lack of interest or loss of viewership, but because the creators seem intent on keeping it a tight story that doesn't go on longer than it needs to.
And for the record, I only ever saw season 1 of TWD so I can't comment on its quality as the seasons went on or anything, but just in general, I'd be pretty surprised if ANY serialized show could run for 11 seasons and not overstay it's welcome by the end. Game of Thrones is really the only one I can think of that would have benefited from that many seasons, simply because of how massive and complex the story is, but most stories just suffer from being drawn out that long.

Dear TWD fans, what Ryan said in this video was not a personal attack aimed at you. Someone disliking a show (or parts of a show) you enjoyed doesn't invalidate your feelings. The later stuff didn't get nearly the same ratings, nor the same level of praise. It's true, and it also doesn't invalidate your love for the show.
I wish internet fandoms didn't take stuff so personally. Content creators gotta tiptoe around this stuff because even the slightest criticism sets people off. That's no fun for anybody.
