One of these just recently sold on an online auction site downunder for NZ $706 dollars US $416. In similar condition with its original box and papers. Those sausages sticks are better with cocktails sausages with sauce on them. Have a great weekend from Downunder NZ.

Nice and all original, this will have such high sentimental value due to being worn all the time by his father, oh the stories it could tell...

Wow, that's lived a full life! The owner's father must've had many tales to tell.

There's gold under all that Gruck! A beautiful and well loved watch indeed...a bit of love and it will be as good as new...even better than new as there's years of sentimental value added!

Hoping to see a restoration video on this one!

    That's interesting!
My 7549-7010 insert is also pretty worn, but not as bashed as this one.
I´ve noticed the blueish tint in my insert. Really cool knowing that it could have been from Daini!
Great stuff and thanks for an informatic vid, as usual 😊👍

I do believe that blue / black was a Daini-only thing. I could be wrong, but this is the best theory I've come up with so far.

same here with the cocktail sticks, I have a hoarde of them, some are bamboo, so stronger, possibly the most used tool in my draw.

I keep forgetting about the bamboo ones - the ones I can find are really too big for me to use in the same way. I'll look though! Do you have a brand name for me?

I always walk away from your videos with so many questions. How do you wash a dial? How do you jewel a center wheel? What is a good battery to put in a watch to prevent leakage? What is a good movement to learn how to take apart and service? How do I get an awesome youtube voiceover voice like yours? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

    • @SpencerKleinVintageWatch

I used to be told I should have gone into radio, so thank you. I use Energizer. Best movements are all the unloved 7xxx series watches, esp 7006. They've got weird styling and so aren't popular.

Hi S, question for next mail call: those shroud screws came out quite easily, what do you do if one of the screw threads is jacked up by a previous service? Regards to your family, all the best, Neel

    • @SpencerKleinVintageWatch
      @SpencerKleinVintageWatch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Clear them as best as you can with a fine-tipped dental pick with that tip being 45 degrees from the shaft. Oil the threads a bit, and then put the screw in, but turn it backwards until you feel the click of the threads meshing together. Then try gently to turn it forwards, if you hit resistance, try it again. Check to see if the screw is going in straight or not, as well. If it's straight and you felt that click, you can turn in a hair against the resistance, then back, then forward again. So you're sort of nudging your way through the damaged section, straightening the threads as you go. Slow, gentle, careful.

Am I seeing corrosion on the end of the minute hand near the centre point of dial?
Spencer how do you clean these rodico smudges? I would be really scared to clean any dial.

brand-new fresh & clean Rodico, dabbing gently. It'll go eventually but there are limits of course.

    Hello!
How much can cost original Seiko SBBN045 crystal, and reinstallation work to the SBBN007 Tuna?
