    Hey guys! We are aware of the new ASW 28 from Tower Hobbies. We have reviewed it and will be publishing the videos next week. We just didn't want to take anything away from this amazing P-51. If you just can't wait, check it out here...

    I love watching Brian fly, he wrings these planes out and any weaknesses in them are quickly apparent. The videography is really good, great job! However my wife feels you are barking orders at your wife and being disrespectful by not calling her by her name and can't stand me watching! She will be in the house somewhere saying "camera crew, camera crew!" I know you have a system that works, keep doing it.

    Quite daring for E-Flite to produce such an obscure aircraft ! How about the manufacturers make a Piper Cub, that would get fellow club members scratching their heads !

    Thanks Brian. Got the June Nite. It is so fun to fly. I fly off of grass and you gotta be on your game to keep it from nosing over on landing with the 4S 3200. Recently started flying on 4S 2200. Game changer!!! Nose overs are way more minimal now. Flies more like A 3S with the same 4S power available. Love it even more now. You can jank it on high rates or slow down a bit and go scale flying on low rates. Big loops, victory roles and sweeping turns are a must when I fly mine. Gotta agree on grass take offs, gotta be short... Thanks again for another good video from you and the "camera crew", thanks Meghan!

      @mjpburke1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree on throttle as well, this thing flies great and will loop well at 60/70% throttle on 4S. This is a plane you want to manage throttle to get the most out of the flight experience.

    Hey Brian Phillips your videos are great and although horizon has not contacted me about a defective plane i sent back i had got few other planes from them and nothing but junk and problems. I'm sure glad you love the planes bc I'm selling off all my stuff and getting out of the hobby altogether. horizon quality is far from consistent and also goes for their customer support also. glad they take care of you and your family. you always show such great detail i always followed your unbox n build n setup. unfortunately, the planes i received are not very good even decals are folded over them self on my plane. nothing new for me, and my bad luck. you are great at selling the products and always have a beautiful camera crew. god bless and keep it up Brian and Family ill miss the hobby

    I like the George Preddy livery. Invasion stripes belong on the bottom of the plane IMO. Wish it came with the Viper 70 servo's but it still uses the A330. I can wait for a sale on this one.

    and just donate the very first time for a YT Channel , not much, but it just shall be a hat tip!
    I just have to train more with my planes (Turbo Timber Evolution , Conscendo Evolution), so maybe this or the Draco will be the goal this year. and would like to put the DJI Air unit o3 on to it.
    the cockpit of the two look big enough. ( and NO, not so handy for servo /Headtracking- at least not yet, but it should be fun also without )

    Another great video and why the camera crew and you are the best out there. I’m wanting to get a second warbird and am considering either the new 1.2m Corsair or this one. Why would your recommendation be? Thanks for all of your great advice and teaching us so much.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The P-51 is going to be a better everyday flier, BUT if you LOVE the F4U go for it. The 1.2m is amazing, as is this P-51.
      Maybe stock might make up you mind??? Either way, you'll love both, but the P-51 might slightly edge out the F4U in flight performance...but I mean SLIGHTLY...and only since the PFactor is a bit easier to manage at takeoff.

    You give the best reviews I've seen that's out there. I'm going to be switching from my balsam wood to the styrofoam planes. I just crashed my P-51. It was over 25 years old. I just really wished they used futaba. I don't really like all this digital stuff but I guess I have to get used to it. I'm thinking about getting that plane. Maybe gutting it and putting all futaba stuff in it or just go with their stuff?. How times have changed the one in this video? I call it a park flyer. They call it. A club fire club flyers were always like 5 ft long and why did he use metric? Selling to the US. They should use inches

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      You can buy a PNP (plug and play) and then you can put whatever Receiver you'd like. It's a bit less expensive as a PNP, but you will be losing some of the value of the BNF (bind and fly) in my opinion.
      Foam planes are not better than balsa wood. If you like balsa wood, KEEP FLYING THEM - they're very nice, and sometimes a bit heavier, BUT foam is a great media too. You need to give it a shot, and you might be super surprised that they can fly very nicely!

    • @dinofarina2639
      @dinofarina2639 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost all the stickers you buy for your RC plane are after real pilots. The crepes almighty that pilot was one of the best or is the best. Shut down by friendly fire while chasing some Germans I think. The term crepes almighty might be a midwestern term. My grandma used it it's just another term for oh my god. Like the mustangs that are RCs with the red tail. That's a real fighter squadron a all black fighter squadron but I notice on RC planes sometimes it's not a black guy flying it and it should be.

    Brian, curious if the fuse on this P-51 is the same as the Eflite Blondie. (Had a brown out last summer and now the Blondie is a 2 piece fuse)

  • @dalezesiger9873
    @dalezesiger9873 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Brian. I have been watching your videos on the Eflite 1.5 Mustang and this one on the 1.2 over and over. I am totally torn on which one to get. In fact, I have one of each in seperate "ready to pull the trigger" shopping carts from different vendors. I had the "Blondie" version years ago, and it was okay. I just bought the new 1.2m Corsair. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE the "cool factor" on the 1.5 Mustang, but your videos have me on the fence. You commented on why you sort of prefer flying the 1.2. I get that..."pucker-factor" and all with the bigger, harder to fly version. I can fly reasonably well, but not like you. I wonder if I might be "behind the aircraft" a little too much on the big boy. Any additional thoughts? Thank you, and happy flying. Dale. Retired US military pilot.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Get the 1.2m - hands down. It flies better, and it's an overall better flying experience (Easier to move around, and less effort, cheaper batteries, great flight time, etc... & WAY EASIER TO LAND!!!)
      P51 bit.ly/3ohT4zT
      At some point, I want to skip the 1.5m and get into a LARGER P-51, but not sure if it'll be 1.7m or even bigger...more to come on that later on.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just didn't think the 1.5m was good for flying from a narrow/short runway, but now that we've got access to THRUST REVERSE, I wonder if we could use that to make it work better on our runway (by the house, not the road - crown is an issue for this plane on ground handling)

    Hello I just bought one, but when I take a look at the manual, the flap setting seems quite....impossible ! I can see 30millimetrers for takeoff mode, 60 millimeters for landing (almost 90degres!!!).
    Did you do the same ? what is your set-up please ?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Brian, I follow you down in South Africa - really enjoy your work. I have my second P51 Mustang 1,2m which has exactly the same problem as the first (deceased) one. Soon as you go full throttle for even short periods the motor starts hunting and the alarm goes off on my NX8 using 4S 2200, any ideas? Thanks

      You're 2200mAh 4S is sagging. See if you can try ANOTHER pack...OR change the voltage alarm on the TELEMETRY WARNINGS to be a bit lower. CELL IMBALANCE might be what you're seeing.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We paid $24,362 to relocate them underground. It was a 9 month fiasco, which cost way too much, and shouldn't have ever been necessary, but we did it to give me a better chance at NOT being killed on landing with PPG, which is a small part of our channel at the moment, but at some point, we want to incorporate it more....however, I have to get better as a pilot to be able to share that effort, and also, it doesn't hurt for the RC side of things, OR the fact that the view is a lot better too ;)

    Hey Brian can I ask a question...just your opinion from having all the eflite 1.2m mustangs...will the cripesallmighty wing fit on the blondie fuse? It looks like it's an even trade but I wanted your opinion. My blondies gear went bad and the newer style will not fit the older wing so it looks like I need to change it out to install the newer gear. Thanks for your time!!

      @@merailla6210 it will absolutely blow you away if you haven’t flown one. It’s as scale looking in the air as it gets. (Prop torque on takeoff is the only thing that could bite you. Just remind yourself it’ll takeoff at 30% throttle) Corsair is solid too. And I fly the P-38 the most. Tigercat is the redheaded stepchild of the group, but it’s a stable and fun as the other 3. What can I say guys? Another super video with another great plane!
    Megan, you are absolutely the best. To raise a family, keep house, AND be the best videographer on TH-cam, is nothing short of being amazing.
    Brian, you're ok.
    Just kidding.
    You do a super job as well. You've come a long way from your start, flying down the street, crashing into street signs, in a middle American development.
    Megan, Brian, you two have an innate talent for what you each bring to the R/C community.
    Keep up the great work.
    Brian, one request. On planes that offer the option fly on two different "S" size batteries, such as 3S or 4S, or 4S or 6S, could you do a flight on both batteries? That way viewers could see the flight characteristics on either battery. Granted, I understand that the majority of today's average R/C pilots go straight to the bigger battery. But, some of us old codgers still like to see the lower/slower end of the flight envelope. It sometimes brings out hidden "quirks" in a plane's design.
