Yeah I know that feeling well. It gets addicting lol. I just fired up my air cooled VW build a while back after completely tearing it down and making it an 1835cc dual carb. It never gets old. Freaking awesome job. It does sound mean as hell too.
It was nice to see you with that big grin walking on cloud 9. Until you have done a build or basket case and that first start There is nothing quite like it. and does not matter how many you have done it still Feels Great!!! Thanks for the videos
Appreciate the tip about the paint. I have always been slightly uncertain about this and found that the paint is really sensitive to fuel spills for example until the bike has really run up to temperature on the road.
Awesome man. Only found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I've binge watched the whole CX build since then. Really enjoyed seeing it come together. Good inspiration for my projects.
What a gorgeous build. I've been following this build since early on and am really impressed with the attention to detail. I'm glad you share all the consideration and explaining of the component selections and build choices, because it's applicable to loads of projects. It's gotta feel great to hear it finally run. :) Bravo!
Thanks Robert, it definitely felt good to say the least! My goal with the channel is definitely to help illuminate how to do these things the right way and part of that is to explain as much as possible.
@@BrickHouseBuilds It's inspirational work. I love doing this stuff as well, but I get discouraged way too easily. I like to recharge by looking at how others build and style their projects. You set a great example of thorough workmanship. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thank you lol. I moved from a much much larger space so I HAD to figure out how to make the space work. I keep a bunch of bikes and parts at another spot for now until I can get into a forever home/shop
What kind of gauge cluster is that, and how difficult was it to wire up? I just recently bought a CX cafe-style bike, that used a CX500 Turbo frame and a CX650 engine, and the only gauge on it is the tach. I'd like to also have something that shows the speed, along with trip meter. Thanks!
I actually made a few videos on exactly that. Check out my wiring fundamentals video from a few weeks back along with the latest wiring video just before this one. Those will absolutely answer your questions as well as give you links to everything used. I always link parts in the description when I talk about them. Cheers
Hmm, on a lower compression parallel twin im not sure it would sound good. I love cone engineering mufflers and use them often. Go to my super old videos on here and look for the cb360 "tuna" for a sound clip.
Hi there from Israel my name is Marcus my son has bought a 79 cx 500 and through watching all your videos at least twice . i have been motor bike mechanic for slightly over 35 years ,so we are really enjoying this project i have tried a couple of rear shocks that were not good I didnt even know from which bikes they were from . wanted to ask you which rear shocks would you say that would fit the weight and ride height of the bike also which shock from which bike did you use ?. Thanks very much if you can help us . yours Marcus and Jonatan
Hey Marcus, thats for watching. This is a Ducati 900ss shock. It is too soft to use stock but I have a stiffer spring on it. I explain all of this in my video "remounting the rear shock"
This is hands-down the best CX 500 build series on TH-cam
Hell yeah thank ya! Have you been powering through the playlist or just hitting some here and there?
@@BrickHouseBuilds powering through the whole thing. Got you on in the background as I bring this old 79 CX500 to life
Congrats on the first start of your CX650
Love the exhaust system and the sound
Thanks Steve!
Man I'm so glad to finally hear it. That exhuast sounds very nice. Make me want to dump all my money into my cx500 lol
I cant wait to ride it and get some sound clips. Soon!
Oh man that's Awesome!!!!!!!!
Thank you! 👊👊

Oh man, someday I'll build a Beetle. I had a 69 for a month before selling it as I knew it would be too large of a project for the time
It’s been a real pleasure hanging out with you through this.
Thank ya Chris!
Way to go Man!! Very cool, nice work!

Nail on the head Carl. I've done many engine rebuilds and each time it's a huge relief when they sound healthy no matter how confident I am.
Absolutely

Thanks Gus!
IT'S ALIFE!!! Great job, great sound, well done!!
Thank you Anton!
Good job, loving sharing ur journey

love it when you do small rev make bike twisting
Thats one of the cooler parts of the "character" that a cx/gl has. Even more fun coming out of a corner!
Finally..! Well done..!!! Sounds amazing.
Thank ya Tare!
I hope when I finnish my cx500 it looks something like yours.
Awesome man. Only found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I've binge watched the whole CX build since then. Really enjoyed seeing it come together. Good inspiration for my projects.

Sick!!

Awesome work as always. Your small shop puts my 2.5 car garage to shame. I need to utilize my space better lol

Excellent work sound beautiful. Congratulations. I'm still interested in you doing the electrical part of my bike. Where do you live?
I'm in the St Louis area.

Bike is looking great, the black motor and red valve cover look great..but not liking the gold forks
Thank you! I do love the textured valve covers too
how do you think that Competition Werks muffler would work for a CB350?
Hmm, on a lower compression parallel twin im not sure it would sound good. I love cone engineering mufflers and use them often. Go to my super old videos on here and look for the cb360 "tuna" for a sound clip.
@@BrickHouseBuilds ok thanks for the reply, I like those Cone engineering mufflers, was just looking for something different.
@@big_blok_hed I hear ya. Not sure what to recommend beyond the ones above.
Very nice build!! What size rear tire are you running? Regards!
140/70/17. 4.25" wide rear. Clears fine.
