I saw a story today about an 82 year old man with a terminal heart condition basically just sent home to die. But instead, he took to walking the beach. Walks along the shoreline began to help his condition, and little by little he grew stronger. So your plan to walk around more for health is very sound and beneficial. Hearing the water, being in nature, moving over the landscape at your own pace.

It's our natural state of being,we still have a hunter gatherers body and we are wired the same,it's just that we don't tend to tap into the wireing

It is but not if we then go home and eat a carbohydrate heavy meal. If you cut down drastically on carbs (no pasta, potatoes, bread or sweet stuff), you will see massive improvement in a short time. We are designed to walk, but we arent designed to eat a modern processed diet.

I think it's wonderful that you have your own personal "riverview." I'm looking forward to videos in which you're sitting by the river having a cup of tea. In spite of your ups and downs with chronic fatigue, etc., you DO have a LOT to be thankful for and a LOT to enjoy in your day-to-day life in Wales. Just think of those poor sods in London sitting in an office in a high rise all day. Compared to them, in my opinion, you've got it made. ❤

Good evening Sean, what a lovely surprise to see a Sunday video, I weeded my garden for a couple of hours, the weather has been really nice in Dagenham today! Your dinner looked very nice, you always enjoy it more when someone else has cooked it 😂 glad you took a bottle of water with you as you were walking, ive started to do long walks for an hour and a half every evening since last week, the weather makes all the difference and its just nice to have some fresh air after being in a kitchen all day at work.Dont be too down on yourself about your weight, you have needed to rest.you will soon be back in a routine 😊 Take care Sean 💜

Lovely video again Sean. Try not to worry too much about things as I think you are still settling into your new life. You are also getting over your recent health episode. You are walking and getting enough exercise . This is great. My suggestion on looking at what you buy and say you eat is swap your sausages and pasties and any pastries or cakes for meat ie pork chops chicken with skin or a nice steak. Green beans or other low carb veg and salad and fruits like berries. No bread or grains and no processed food. I enjoy a few almonds brazil nuts or walnuts as a treat or a little 85 per cent dark chocolate . Also bananas are very high in sugar. I also eat some cheese and eggs
Personally I think once you are really settled into your new adventure on the land you will start to notice a difference. You have such a great community and you have already achieved so much in such a short time. 🎉😊

Good advice. Also a good daily routine and intermittent fasting would help. Body fat is just an energy reserve that can be burnt off but you have to nudge your body to do that. Cannot happen if you eat too many carbs breakfast, lunch, tea and supper. Those carbs are stored as fat in fact, and if you are constantly hungry it means that the body fat store is not accessible. Not your fault. Advice has been wrong for years. So much codswallop that we have been fed over the years. Shameful.

I switched to no carbs or processed foods & more meat & fish with salad & fruits like strawberries & blueberries & feel better without the processed foods. Even the expensive cooked ham I bought for sandwiches had nitrites & nitrates in to prolong shelf life! I eat more fish now than I ever have done & feel so much better for it & I need knee replacements but I'm too young🙄

When I get home from a walk too warm, I get the fan going which helps. A white sunhat is helpful. Really enjoyed your walk. I went outside and newly admired little wood sorel plants ☘️ with dainty yellow flowers in the lawn, and looked closer because of your videos inspiring me. Some possibility of severe weather for next several days but my ancient chives blooming. Planted by previous owners over 30 years ago.

    Bore da Sean,
I appear to have missed this video, it usually pops up in my notifications.
Wonderful walk & seeing & hearing the birdsong.
Yes you’re right Sean it was a Buzzard you can tell by its flat wide back tail.
Really looking forward to a few walks, that & your lovely personality is what drew me to your channel just as you were leaving London for Wales.
That’s devastating news for the community the loss of all those jobs, very sad indeed, there must be many worried families for sure.

Hello Sean the area here is bathed in Sunlight, quite soon the birds will be singing in the evening sun it will be a joy to sit
and hear the various garden birds around me. Always a perfect place to be . Enjoyed your travelling video, it is happening more and more these days industries closing down communities suffer time and time again. A shortage of dentists and doctors also. Travel may have moved on but in many ways community life is going backwards, I live in a small village community plenty of houses and shops but not much variety. Plenty of work ahead of you regarding homestead and shed building . All good for both you and the land. Hugs 🤗🙏

      Give it a go :)
You could always make a pallet planter? Or a raised bed from some gravel boards.
Mine are on the sunny side of my garden, up against my neighbour's fence, - I built them 6ft wide (so the posts are accessible) by 3ft deep (I can just about reach the back with a long trowel, or my foot placed between the raised beds. Lined them with the compost & topsoil bags, cardboard on the bottom, 50 / 50 topsoil.& compost. Tacked the lining in place (top edge folded neatly) clout nails 15cm apart - make row marking easier) with clout felt nails left over from fixing my shed roof.
For hoops to put netting or fleece / net curtain / polythene etc I use hula hoops opened up, & pushed well in, over a stick, you can brace them.
Tbh, best thing I ever did in my garden :) whilst I'm far from self sufficient, growing a chunk of my food has certainly helped me through a very rocky last few years. In fact I'll be so bold as to credit many things to it. Not just financial / nutrition, but physical, mental and spirital wellbeing, and a deep connection all in one. I'm always happier, feel like I've accomplished something, once I've had a bit of time out in the garden :)
Then a cuppa whilst my cats mooch round - inspecting my efforts :)

Thanks Sean, that was quite a trek.. I would be interesting to see how many miles you walk on one of these...maybe a nap that showed where you went..so we could get familiar with the lay of the land......Nice to see the area where you used to live, and an update on the train situation..and the Rusty homestead......the cherry on top for me though was the Duck family at the river......I raised mallard ducks in my teens, I had 34 at one time...in the city limits....I didnt clip their wings if they wandered to the neighbors on a rainy day following the water running down the street....it was O.K with them because they would get their yards slugs ect. The neighbors would ask if I could let them stay a while before I called them home, and they would fly home when called....and I locked them in safe at night....I sold young ones at half grown size for pets, they were very popular back then, as they can clear your yard of slugs and snails...I would sit by the hour and watch the ducklings, play in the pond I built. A arge pond surrounded with water Iris, my Grandmother gifted me. Ducklings are so adorable. Thanks so much.

You want a couple of boats to eat that land. No way you can get that productive this season. At least the goats give the chance to get some of the tough grass and weeds under control. Some pigs would be better. But they are more expensive to buy, need some grain feed and more likely to be stolen.

I think thats definitely a Buzzard ... the 'broad, short stumpy tail n shape of wings....plus the way it flies - mostly 'gliding' on thermals with very little 'flapping'....n gaining height by riding in a big 'spiral' on the air currents.... there are a lot of them where I live. Often see other birds ( rooks/ gulls harrassing them t try chase them of).... when they spot carrion..they drop down at amazing speed , at an angle from a big height, wings open .usually seen singular or in pairs n later with fledged chicks teaching them t find food. . Though also seen large groups on the ground when farmers have freshly ploughed the fields. Have also seen 'large gatherings' (20 plus birds) in air milling around...(..I wonder what that about).....they vary in markings....same shades if brown/ cream....but can 'recognise' different birds coz of 'distinct' patches! It indicates a healthy bio- divercity in area! They can have a wingspan of 5/6 ft.....so can be a bit 'deceptive ' re how high close they are. If on ground near you their heads are about 'knee height'. Anazing birds!

What a lovely day for a walk . So enjoyed joining you. Always love seeing all the nature but seeing mama Duck with her ducklings was so cute. I enjoy my large bird feeder in my back yard. Always a busy place. Fun to watch all my visitors. Hope you get help with your shed and then hope you find a comfy table and chair set for the homestead. Good luck with your bean planting. Carrots and peas are going to be planted in my garden tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. It is a long weekend in Canada. And the weather here in the Vancouver area is perfect. Take care. Nice to seeing you feeling better. 🥰👍🏻

Maybe you coukd fashion yourself a rustic bench and potting table with the bits thx former holder leaves on the plot. It would fit into the homestead theme. ☺️❤️ Lovely pictures of the rive4 and the ducks! Have you thought about getting a little dog? a pup would have you getting out several times a day for walks with a purpose regardless if weather. and would sn settle in with the cats.
