Mmmmm... delicious. Why do we love paper so much! Especially papers with beautiful colours on them 💜🧡 We can never make enough 😊 Thank you Kari for sharing. 🌷
@@KariGibsonArt 😅😅 I know right! Agreed! I recently read that the sizing in papers have an expiration date and if we don't use them up then they will just be ordinary paper. ( I think it was talking specifically about watercolour paper) and I have a lot of them 😱.. I wished I hadn't read that..lol better get painting every day. 😝
I did smoosh! Yes, these are all easy and fun ways to get some lovely collage papers. I have been trying them out upstairs this evening and I love them! 💗💗
You have some awesome collage fodder, having fodder envy! hahahah You scush, smoosh, squish and splatter paint about beautifully. Great video, was fun.
Thanks so much, Elaine, yes they now fit into my "collage bits" box and they do look quite different when cut up. I was playing with them last night and they make great collage fodder, I love them! 😊
Thanks Claire, I am very happy with my pile of papers and have already been collaging with them, hopefully I can show the results in my next video. I hope you make some too! 💖
these are great ideas. i really like the splatter effect. i just got a bunch of packing paper from something i ordered so i have lots of brown paper to paint up for collages! thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Kari I really really enjoyed watching you create these stunning and gorgeous pieces of collage fodder. Every single one of them are really really awesome. Because once cut up, they take on a totally different look altogether. Amazing video Kari, as always. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thanks Mags, yes you are right, I love them chopped up and they DO look different! I have been having a great time playing with them this evening! I hope you are staying safe and well too! XXX
So many techniques to try this weekend!! I love your long snippet rolls (unrolled!). Fabulous. I didn’t know deli paper could withstand sewing on a machine. I must try this also!! Thank you so much Kari!
Thanks Rose, some of the more delicate papers can tear when being sewn on the machine, but that is just extra added texture. Have fun making your own collage bits! 😁
I think my favourite was the 'tea' stained sheet, but they are all interesting and can see how they would work in a collage composition..thanks for sharing the ideas and inspiration!
It is amazing how a simple shape, mark or color can transform a paper. Love the stamps and how much interest it gives. Look forward to seeing them make their appearance in a future project.
Thanks Kate, I will probably show some collages I did with them in my next video, they work beautifully and I love them as if they were my children, LOL! 💗
@@KariGibsonArt I understand. Sometimes I love one so much I can’t bear to cut it. Also why I have a huge fabric stash - pieces that are too pretty to cut.
Hi kari love your art I have some till receipt rolls I need to play with , crafty individuals is run by Jean and Malcolm her husband there a lovely couple and do a wide range of stamps always giving out free stamps with purchases and they do Facebook lives for competitions and freebies there excellent, I love your vintage large letter stamps you always have the best stuff 😘 xx
Thanks for telling me about Jean and Malcolm, I will find their Facebook page, I was very impressed with them and love the bits they sent me. Once life is back to normal, I hope to do more antique shop browsing, it is great to find interesting stuff to use in our journals! 😁xx
Really enjoyed watching your process, feel inspired. It’s always interesting to see things develop, especially if you don’t like them at some point, (I’ve had plenty of those!😊).Thank you 😊
I find your video very interesting, I like all these techniques to make papers fun for collages and it's a nice solution to give packaging papers a new purpose. Thanks for your video Kari..👍😍
Thank you very much, Marjo, yes I do like to find a use for all the lovely free materials that can be turned into art - it is good for the environment too, which is even better! 😊💗
As always it's wonderful seeing you in your groove, taking ordinary and bringing it to another level. Can you share info on roller from Amazon? I enjoy watching you play with it and I'd love to add it to my arsenal. How was your visit with your friends? I hope it was wonderful. You so deserve it! ~Ana xo
Thanks so much Ana, I really enjoy making art with odds and ends, I don't like to waste things. The roller is fabulous, I love it, here is the link: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07N69XKT2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My visit with friends was lovely, we had a great time, they are arty too and we did a lot of show and tell and sharing - it was over far too soon! They are Stabilo Woody pencils, really aimed at children, but also fun for us grownups to use! Currently they are on sale at Amazon, so snap them up now! 💗💗
Interesting video. The markers that you're using - are you saying stabilo woodies? I had never heard of them but they look like fun (I googled them). Does the substrate that you use them on then need some kind of sealant to protect the marks? As you can tell, I'm a newbie. Thanks.
You will enjoy using the woodies, they are great. I don't bother sealing the work unless it's pages that may stick or transfer and then I use Dorlands wax (or clear shoe polish), but only when I'm completely sure I won't work on it any more. Alternatively, waxed paper between pages works well. 😀
I really like what you did to all your papers. Love watching ❤
Happy Holidays 🎄
Thank you very much Brenda- happy holidays to you too! 🩷🩷
