  • Tren Atlantico: Part 2 - Spain's Green North | Nature Documentary
Watch 'Tren Atlantico - Part 1' here: • Tren Atlantico | Part ...
The rugged sides of Spain and Portugal - crossed and discovered by train, beyond the vacation clichés. Where they border on the unbridled, cold Atlantic, both countries show a completely different side of their own.
Rugged cliffs, surfing paradises, steep vineyards, and villages with centuries-old traditions: the train takes you from Portugal's west coast to the Spanish border in the northeast, a journey of discovery characterized by a variety of colors, landscapes, and climates.
The FEVE narrow-gauge railroad takes you through the contrasting landscape of northern Spain. From Bilbao in the Basque Country via Santander in Cantabria to Asturias. The train takes a good eight hours to cover 300 kilometers. A journey at the speed of earlier centuries, through a region that has retained its originality to this day.

*Spain's Green North" is a treasure trove of natural beauty, with its lush landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and rich cultural heritage. It's a testament to the country's commitment to environmental preservation. The region's greenery, from the Basque Country to Galicia, offers a refreshing contrast to Spain's typical arid imagery.*

Spain is the second roughest country, after switzerland in Europe and the first in averaged height over mean sea level. Unfortunatelly most tourists only know the mediterranean coast. Of course the warmer and dryer, but not a good representative of Spain.
This documentary lacks the highest and more spectacular mountains at that "Green Spain", my beloved Pyrinees, wich western side is my homeland. The rage extends east to west fron the Mediterranean to Biscay bay in the atlantic with heights 1000m over those of the mountains covered in this documentary, rivers, woods, magestic peaks, glaziers .... a dream made true. A natural paradise with many untouched areas due to the very rough and harsh landscape.
By the way, Galicia at the very far west, at the "Finis terrae" (the lands end), facing the open ocean is also missed. The "Rias" similar to the scotish firths but rougher and with the woods still conserved. The whole region is worth a visit. And if you're fond of eating Galicia in variety, quantity and quality, is, by far, your place.

If a guy defeated a bull in hand-to-hand combat then I'd take my hat off to him. But killing it slowly by exploiting the bull's stupidity isn't an achievement. It's the definition of cruelty. I feel nothing for the people who get gored and trampled at bullfights. Suddenly the illusion of superiority has vanished, and reality hurts.

Yes. butchers are far more kind and better than these bullfighters. They at least kill the animal first. But these cruel rascals torture the helpless animal endlessly. They don't even know to respect a life.

    • @HenieJayoma
      @HenieJayoma ปีที่แล้ว +5

It is raised for that purpose so it is still very dangerous to fight an animal that big with horns and with a capacity to kill the matador if he's not careful and that is still amazing because you cant be a matador if your not brave and skilled to fight a raging bull. And that sport was invented centuries ago you cannot blame someone to be fascinated by it...

The brave party.... is a Hispanic custom very celebrated in the peninsula
and in many countries where the barbarity of Spanish colonialism
accompanied its colonialist brutality of art. It seems to me that it either
has a lot and of cruelty, it seems to me that it has too much.... typical of
    Francoist fascist Spanish

Bullfighting comes from the Roman Empire, and also exists in France... but I didn't know that France had been part of Spanish "colonialism"...
To continue, Spain only had one colony in its entire history, which is Western Sahara. The other territories were Spain itself, viceroyalties with the same rights and nationality as any other Spaniard. This is not the case of England and other European countries that did have colonial systems in the full sense of the word, and that oppressed or eliminated the natives without granting them rights or citizenship of the United Kingdom or the corresponding country. That's why in Hispanic America there are still Native Americans and mestizos and in the US and Canada barely any of them resist. That being said, who are the barbarian people in this story?

@@AugustoOrthez-co8jv You should learn the difference between empire and imperialism. The first was Rome, or Spain, the second was England and France. The term colony can be understood in many ways, but the one used today (unlike the Roman colony) does not correspond to what Spain was. And basically they are totally different systems, although you want in your ignorance to consider them as the same.
About the bull acrobatics, they also continue to exist in Spain, and they are called "recortes." It is not my fault that there is so much international tourist interest that goes to the south of Spain to encourage the bullfighting business so that it continues to exist, and yet there is not so much for "recortes" in which the bulls are not harmed. This is what maintains the laws and the business of bullfighting, not me, and not the most part of spaniards.
