Hi Becca, Chris, Another excellent Vlog. Love the way you guys get things done. Chris I hope you have now solved your Spider issue. Really sorry you both have been under the weather. Sanding tip: before you start with every grit, draw some lines on the floor with a pencil. This will help you see where you already sanded and where you might have missed because the pencil marks will be still visible there. Check your finishing product label, they might have specified recommended finest grit for it there. For real smooth sliding potential you'll need at least 220 (ask me how I know). Nice dust extraction.
Ahh that's a really good idea, thanks for sharing and also about the finishing product requirement. I wouldn't have even thought of that!! Ooh I definitely want to know how you know!!! The yellow ‘Thingy’ is a step down transformer that you have to use on building sites etc. You will find all his tools will be 110v and fitted with plugs that you cannot use on domestic circuits. 230v

The intergalactic brain-eating spiders may all be contained now, but what happens next? Do the stray ones eat through exhaust pipes out of spite for revenge? Do they consume one another and meld into one giant spider, filling every crevice of the bilge? Do they become a massive, pressurized arachnid that makes the floorboards creak and bulges the floor up? Do they eat their way out through the hull? Or does the whole mess just explode into a freakishly enormous volume of spiderlets, filling the entire cabin? Anything is possible on Planet Crobot. But even with every impending disaster that Chris can manage to think up, the floor still looks truly wonderful.
I never thought of that....maybe it's the evil spiders trying to sabotage our attempt at world domination....watch this space....im sure there growing inside of me since drinking all the spider babies. thank you so much ...the floor is looking great....Bex has truly done a great job
The main function of the yellow brick is to remove the earth connection from the tools attached. it isolates you from the incoming mains and it's connection to earth. Also it drops the voltage as a viewer said from 240 to 120V (yellow) it could have been 240 to 240V (blue). as the tool side is isolated from the supply you could hold the live wire and stand in the canal without any ill affects. but live to neutral will still try to kill you but not so hard as 240V would. So it's there for your safety and our viewing pleasure should you try to electrocute each other.
What a miserable “B” that commenter was! 🤨 He’s prob never had a successful relationship in his life! lol Personally, I love the humour and laughter between the pair of you, it’s endearing and part of what makes your channel so engaging to watch! The floor looks amazing Bex! 👍🏻 And glad you’re both on the mend! 🤗 Take care my lovelies! 😘🌻
there always few , thankfully we laugh it off.. were having fun doing our little project and we enjoy taking you lovely people along for the ride, Thanks so much for enjoying the channel I makes it all worth it ❤️
I'm enjoying the content, but I do have a question. Why did you nail the floor down instead of using removable screws or at least section it into removable panels? Is this how narrowboats are normally constructed? If you ever need, and you most likely will, access to the bilge you're going to have issues.
This is a really good point. I suppose the reason we went with nails instead of screws was because we didn't want to ruin the look of the flooring. We have treated the bilges underneath and have also installed an inspection hatch so that we have access should we need to and also it gives us access to the pipe work there too. I do agree though it would have been a good idea to nail them in sections so each sub floor panel could be lifted. That's the joy of doing things for the first time...hindsight! A lot of narrowboat don't even have an inspection hatch so at least we managed to get something right! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot The accessibility issue struck a chord with me because I'm going to be helping some close friends replace the leaking water tanks on their trawler. The tanks are located in the bilge under the galley cabinets flooring. It will all have to be destructively torn apart since everything is permanently installed and non-removable. Best of luck.
Fun fact. If all the spiders in the world got together they could eat the entire human race within one year. I told this fact to another boater and realised i said it in front of 3 big spiders. It felt like they heard me and it seemed like they walked off to tell friends.
I know full well that the trails and tribulations have been zero fun for you two but the upside, from a public service announcement aspect, is that you stick a pin in the 'perfect and stress free life' myth that still pervades the notion of living on a narrowboat. I nearly made the jump five years back but having seen that every channel at some point shows the mechanical fragility of the boats, the social vileness (vandalism and theft) that has to be put up with and just the general day-to-day annoyances of live-aboard existence, I am quite glad I didn't sell up and jump onto water!
Thanks for enjoying the channel, I do think we have been dealt a bad card, this life can be amazing im sure, saying that im sure there's alot of people that play up to it all being perfect, once we get cruising will see what its really like

So it's there for your safety and our viewing pleasure should you try to electrocute each other.
yeah I think weve worked it out know....it turns out the heavy object has a use, thanks for your description it helps alot to under stand it
What a miserable “B” that commenter was! 🤨 He’s prob never had a successful relationship in his life! lol Personally, I love the humour and laughter between the pair of you, it’s endearing and part of what makes your channel so engaging to watch!
The floor looks amazing Bex! 👍🏻
And glad you’re both on the mend! 🤗
Take care my lovelies! 😘🌻
there always few , thankfully we laugh it off.. were having fun doing our little project and we enjoy taking you lovely people along for the ride, Thanks so much for enjoying the channel I makes it all worth it ❤️
Good job Becks, shame you have to cover it up when the furniture goes back in.
I know!! Don't worry we will make sure to leave some exposed as a reminder of our hard work!! 😂
I'm enjoying the content, but I do have a question. Why did you nail the floor down instead of using removable screws or at least section it into removable panels? Is this how narrowboats are normally constructed? If you ever need, and you most likely will, access to the bilge you're going to have issues.
They made an inspection hatch like the one in the kitchen. Bex did an excellent job of it 😀
This is a really good point.
Thank you lovely 🥰
@@TheNomadicCrobot The accessibility issue struck a chord with me because I'm going to be helping some close friends replace the leaking water tanks on their trawler. The tanks are located in the bilge under the galley cabinets flooring. It will all have to be destructively torn apart since everything is permanently installed and non-removable. Best of luck.
Another Top Video P.S Keep laughing 😃
Thanks for sticking with us 😀
“A spider free vessel” or so you hope so
Unfortunately I doubt it ever will be 🤣
Fun fact. If all the spiders in the world got together they could eat the entire human race within one year.
I told this fact to another boater and realised i said it in front of 3 big spiders. It felt like they heard me and it seemed like they walked off to tell friends.
😂🤣😂 This really made me chuckle!!! Let's hope not eh!!!
6 p's prior planning prevents piss poor performance... cruising the cut will be worth it.
This is so true! Fingers crossed 😊
Instead of calling it Crobot Towers, you should call it “Crobot Landing”. Like the American soap opera tv drama Knots Landing
Haha that's not a bad shout Vik, hilarious 😂
yellow 110v transformer by law you have to have this on building sites 110v don't kill you 240v does
owwww interesting so it does have a massive purpose
Ahhh!! Thank you for explaining 😊
👋👋👋
I know full well that the trails and tribulations have been zero fun for you two but the upside, from a public service announcement aspect, is that you stick a pin in the 'perfect and stress free life' myth that still pervades the notion of living on a narrowboat.
I nearly made the jump five years back but having seen that every channel at some point shows the mechanical fragility of the boats, the social vileness (vandalism and theft) that has to be put up with and just the general day-to-day annoyances of live-aboard existence, I am quite glad I didn't sell up and jump onto water!
Thanks for enjoying the channel, I do think we have been dealt a bad card, this life can be amazing im sure, saying that im sure there's alot of people that play up to it all being perfect, once we get cruising will see what its really like
Who needs bob the builder
Exactly 😀
@@TheNomadicCrobot you could dress up as bob the builder in next episode. Lol
We need more titan vids 🤦♂️
Absolutely 😂
Thanks
Thank you so much, so very kind of you, we really appreciate it, hope you have a lovely week xx
