Sadly those officers were not properly trained or educated on the law. Whenever cars came along you had to have a drivers license to travel the roads for hire “doing deliveries or some job making money “ just another way the government taxes us. So once everyone started paying for licenses why say something to stop the money flow for the State. From what I’ve researched as long as you mail in your tags, registration, and have a certain amount of funds to insure your vehicle you can travel the roads without a license as long as your not doing it to earn income or committing, infractions . It is not just Amish. There are many horse stables and people who go horseback riding. Usually not alongside a roadway...just because a horse is a All Terrain Vehicle so why bother with roads when you don't have to? Roads are hard surfaces which will give the horse leg problems later on.

They come out that education as if they would have graduated as pre-law or B.A. in law. AND still there are 75 shooting a year (1 every 5 days) but we have had 22 deaths till now (2022) by police and that's already a uproar (80+ M people) (deaths by GSW ~200 per year). Also unlike in the US where shooting is trained the majority of times, instead of learning laws and how to de-escalted and all the "humane" things, here around - and that's specifically to a state here, but they are nation wide similar:
      "The shooting training is actually clearly regulated: 30 hours of so-called "operational training" is prescribed for every police officer per year, six hours of which are spent practicing with the service weapon."

    Officers tell people all of the time that if it is the law, then it is “known”. Ignorance of the law does not absolve someone of wrong doing. Yet, somehow the officers get this luxury? How does that make sense? That a person trained in the law gets some breathing room, but citizens do not?

    • @PentaRaus

      Not only luxury of not knowing it, but the right to lie to you about it with no repercussion.

    • @sirzebra
      @sirzebra ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yeah thing is it goes way beyond being ignorant, the real problem is being able to lie / manipulate / cause distress or harm from said ignorance and THEN be completely absolved of any consequences. Your contry really has a problem with this qualified immunity bs, in Europe, no citizen would be ok with paying for an officers abuse, it would never ever be considered justifiable. That doesnt mean the law doesnt support the officers in difficult / complex cases, but they dont automatically stand on their side, even more so when it's a clear and undefendable abuse.
      In europe that encouter would've had the cop follow the horse from a safe distance, call in the dept and ask "i'm seeing a horse on the motorway, i'm not sure it's legal, is it ? and 10 secs later, someone would've specified it was fine, and the cop would've moved on to something that actually require his attention. Time for change in your statutes guys, you deserve better than these low IQ poorly trained bots that drain your collective wealth with constant abuse of the law. Make them accountable, give them a reason to train and act above what's expected from a random citizen, this is common sense, and it has been working just fine for hundreds of years in the civilized world.
