Best one was the Awake album tone, circa 30 years ago. Because that's the release they were signed to Warner Music Group and having an actual producer instead of producing it yourself, as well as having state-of-the-art rooms, boards and experienced technicians does make a difference. They actually used to invest millions on producing an album and there were real studios (outside of somebody's house I mean) and people who dedicated their life and made a living capturing tone back then.

The 3D printed piece gives the guitar a "3d sonic" quality while the center mahogany block adds warmth. And the maple wings give the guitar a sharp attack.........I'm going to add a 3d printed piece to my next build so I can duplicate the 3D sonic quality John got with his prototype.
You're forgetting the most important stuff! The tonebeard. The piercing highs are absorbed by it, giving a pleasant rounded sound, while the midrange is enhanced so it sits in the mix better.

The prototype has the bridge pickup perfect, the poles align with the strings, whilst the production model don't. Does anyone knows why? This is something unacceptable for this price range of instrument
Simply because he doesn't use it for recording. When you record an album with real amps, every post amp effect is usually managed using plugins in the DAW. If we wanna speculate at all cost, I noticed many BOSS pedals and just one TC pedal. John used almost every TC pedal, from hypergravity compressor to corona chorus, passing through helix phaser and many more. And maybe will use it live, but for this record he maybe preferring BOSS modulation pedals.

If you like Dream Theater, you'll like this album: It's essentially the same thing they always do--show off their technical skills without making anything that could be reasonably considered music--and it all sounds pretty much the same as well. I thought of it this way: If you like the Jello vanilla pudding you find in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, you know you're going to like what's in the cups of the next package you buy. It's the same stuff and it all tastes the same. I can do without the pudding and I can easily live without hearing another technically accomplished meaningless lick from the DT members ever again. By the way: Mr Petrucci seemed awfully proud of playing his signature eight-string guitar through his signature wah-wah pedal on the song "Awaken the Master". If you like pointless noises spicing up your emotion-free prog metal epics, you'll be enthusiastic about the sound he makes with his new toy as well.

To talk about MUSICMAN, each signature model (except AXIS) is so ugly. Especially Majesty is worst, it looks like rhinoceros beetle. MUSICMAN need new designer !!!!!

For me Ibanez is still the Petrucci sound and the albuns produced with Ibanez for me are still the best.
