Of all the towns you have showcased so far this one really appeals to me, I've always lived in a boating community and Pentwater looks like heaven.....
Nice video, brings back good memories, my parents built a summer home on Pentwater lake in the 60's when i was a lil kid about 8, me & my friends had mini bikes, lil motor boats & sunfish sailboats, best times ever, 2500 acres of woods & trails, could go all the way to hart mi on trails or our lil boats on river , everyday in Pentwater was a fun adventure.
You are correct about winter on the west side of Michigan. I spent a winter living on one of the high bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan just north of St Joseph. Brrrrrrrrr
Enjoying the ride along the coast. Would like to sit and watch the storms and fog roll in. Keep on finding small towns, old buildings and museums. Thanks Russ. You might have to stay in a hotel to get out of the van.
Russ you would like M-22 north of Onekama and north of Arcadia the scenic turnout is a spectacular view of the Lake, then continue to Empire and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. You can use your senior pass there.l
Nice! Glad the weather is cooperating for you. Thats a precious small town; looks peaceful, and beautiful state park. Nice drone footage. No wonder it's booked a lot. 😊👍
Hello Russ😊😊, not that far away you will arrive in the town of Ludington! It's a beautiful little town and 2 lighthouses: 1 is the Ludington Breakwater Lighthouse and the other is in beautiful Ludington State Park with the lighthouse on the beach!! I hope your able to get your campsite. That place is SPECTACULAR!
Great video Russ, been to Pentwater many times, really neat village, good food, candy, ice cream 🍦, can't wait to see Ludington, you got to see that car ferry Badger, also drive through Ponchos Pond campground it's fabulous, travel safe..
Hey, That is my wife and me in our sailboat leaving in the fog back to Muskegon. I didn't hear you when you asked to come aboard. More like a 7 hour cruise (not a three hour cruise). We love Pentwater.
Yo Russ, I am so happy you hit my home state. We love going around the shoreline to all the lighthouses. I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for 4 years so I definitely miss the desert & the Pacific Ocean.
The museum at Whitefish Point and lighthouse is very interesting. It tells the story of the Edmond Fitzgerald. Michigan in summer is like Florida in winter.
Wow nice and cool place sir especially the fog which covered looks so nice and lakes too but I am so sad that you missed the fishing boat trip 😂😂😂 but days are not too far I wl see you soon in boat too sir journey continues.....❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍and the bgm of your video "Racoon Racoon - walls 👌👌👌👌❤❤❤❤
Great Video. I live in Mi, but rented a Cottage on Lk Mi this summer, just south of Pentwater, 1st trip there. I recommend Holland St Park as the best State Park and for boat watching. Fall is the most beautiful time in Mi.
Hey Russ great video. Thank you so much for sharing best TH-cam channel RVTV grandkids says hello my youngest say too kool for school be safe and travel well lance and family
If you go to ludington, there's a dented discount amish food store on US 10 just west of scottville (Westshore market) decent bakery, sometimes you can find near expired jerky for $1.75 a bag and they always have .25 cent candy bars.
Russ......loving your series this summer! This is the kind of vacation we love to take! We just did San Diego and are starting to upload them to our channel. Are you planning on going to Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula? Would love to see you explore Wisconsin and Minnesota too!
I would've told you to have lunch at The Brown Bear, that's a local institution. There's another in Shelby, which is a cute little town, too. Lots of orchards. But that's farther inland.
Russ, there are 6,000 shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. The most famous is the Edmund Fitzgerald which went down November 10, 1975. 29 people perished. It is considered the "Titanic" of the Great Lakes. Gordon Lightfoot wrote song about it called The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1976. It mentions Mariners Church where every year they ring a bell 29 time. Mariners Church is in downtown Detroit near the tunnel to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The wreck happened near Whitefish Bay in Lake Superior.
Your Muskegon and Pentwater reviews, "very cool." ;) In Michigan, We have the best sand, of any beach! Ludington, has a great state park, btw... Traverse city... I expect a video.
So enjoying this tour thru the state I was born in but never lived in. Hope you were able to stay overnight at the state park. It wasn't clear if you actually had a place for the night. Hope so.🙏 We would've been right at home there with the fog rolling in. That's what it does to us here on the Pacific coast S of SF Bay/Silivon Valley area. When we lived in ND they always called it God's Country because of the cold snowy winters. Bet this part of MI & the UP is the same.
🙋♀️Hello Russ! Pentwater looks like a quiet place. Beautiful harbor. The Campground looked more like a little RV Community. Inviting. Were there any boat tours here? The aerial view of the fog is so neat rolling back in. Sort of gives out a eerie feeling. I enjoyed Muskegan. My favorite cousin is a Minister his Church was there. Peaceful area.
Sorry about asking something about an episode that is a long time ago but in the Arizona and New Mexico videos, why was there metal grates on some of the roads down there? Flooding? Earthquakes?

FYI ..... Now if you were on the shore of the great lakes, in New York, you very likely could see topless women on those boats. Apparently in New York, they have a law where topless can apply to women as well as men, and it is perfectly legal for either gender to mow lawns, sun bathe, or go out on a boat topless.
Pentwater, Michigan really is a gem. It is one of my favorite beach towns.
what an epic journey. thanks for the ride along
Always cheer inside when you say “let’s go for a walk!” ! Love it 👋🏼🇨🇦

Fall is the most beautiful time in Mi.
I was at Pentwater in the 1950's and there was nothing there other than a few cabins around the lake nestled in pine trees.

Look at Russ on the seesaw. Did you see what I saw?
You missed Little Sable lighthouse in Mears MI just south of Pentwater.
I would've told you to have lunch at The Brown Bear, that's a local institution. There's another in Shelby, which is a cute little town, too. Lots of orchards. But that's farther inland.

I like the porter beer named after the Edmund Fitzgerald. Made by Great Lakes Brewing Company.

What’s the old saying? The two happiest days in a boat owners life is the day he buys the boat and the day he sells the boat.
Great video Russ! Are you going over the Mackinaw Bridge?
Russ, what are those ridges on the rear sides of your van? Are they for stabilization or to lessen air turbulence?
Yes air tabs for wind drag

The beaches are closed to swimming currently because of some bacteria or algae thing along the west coast of Michigan. That's why you don't see people
