    I kinda like the idea of brown lenses, and might consider a pair with them, but they always have so much red tone in them...I wish they had a cool true brown to choose from...or maybe I have not seen them. This is a genius idea to really show what each color does. Such a great idea!

    Something that happens for me with my distance prescription is; if the lighting is dimmer, things are less clear for me in the distance, so if I wear dark grey prescription lenses, I actually notice no difference to wearing non prescription lenses, because the grey tint actually negates the prescription in the lense by making detail less contrasted for me haha. So for me with my particular distance prescription, brown tinted lenses work best for me because they accentuate things and don’t dim the details, if that makes any sense haha :)

    2:58 I bought a pair of sunglasses. The color looks "purplish" when you put them on, so the color is like a grey-violet.
    So I wore them while driving on the copilot seat, and they made the sky and scenery look cleaner.
    The red, green, and yellow street lights looked brighter. While the surroundings looked muted, and the foliage looked more 3D.
    In addition, the foliage seemed a little bit greener and brighter. And stationary street signs looked brighter, red cars look beautiful.
    Everything looked more defined, more visible, and cleaner.

    Yeah, definitely like looking through a cat 2 gradient brown lens for sunglasses - prefer the vision a bit to black / grey lenses, and also I think the sunglasses look better too - probably because often the frames are brown or very dark brown or dark red or tortoiseshell.
    Just got some new prescription sunglasses on order, and they are with green lenses - only options were grey, green or brown.
    The pair that I tried on in store were green, and I stuck with that - hope I made the right choice.
    But from your video I think I did - best would have been brown maybe, but definitely better to try green than grey.
    Though the girl in store, although very good, said that the colour differences were only for style / looks - nothing to do with vision quality or glasses use.
    cheers!

    I've been use amber lenses for years and they certainly improve warmer colours like reds, oranges and yellows, but they of course make your blue skies look more magenta. Thye are over-all pleasing as I tend to favour a warmer view. Do you por gold come polarised as I cannot wear a non-polarised pair of glasses, glare reduction is paramount for me and standard lenses are utterly useless for glare reduction.

    Thanks for another great video. Trying to update a few pairs of frames by having my updated Rx lens tinted. I was thinking of going with a medium 50% tint of either Rose or Yellow after seeing the Sweet Violet tint in this video. Would that be too dark? To be honest, I'm thinking fashion and softening the fine lines under my eyes, but that they have to be functional for office work as well. Could you do a video or maybe you already have done a strictly cosmetic video dealing with the most Flattering Tints for aging eyes? Thanks again and keep educating!

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are kind of the same. Anti-reflection stops reflections off the lens surface, which in turn reduces glare into the eyes. BUT it's important to know that lenses with anti-reflection do not reduce glare from the outer environment, only reflections that would have been caused by the lenses themselves.
      Polycarbonate doesn't inherently have dust or water repellence. You need a coating for that.
      I never recommend polycarbonate lenses - see my video about lens materials.
      With sunglasses, You definitely want anti-reflection on the back surface. Whether you want it on the front is up to you. Having it on the front means others can see your eyes more easily and it makes them perform better in lower light. Not having it obscures your eyes and makes them a tiny bit more protective in bright weather.

      You can wear any tint indoors, depending on your light sensitivity. Personally I find 40-50% to be the sweetspot depending on the lens colour. But most people would feel more comfortable with a 25%.

    What are multicolored tinted glasses?

      Can you elaborate on the question?

      @@thespectaclefactory I saw a couple of glasses which were blue, pink, brown, grey tinted. Then there was something that had multicolored tint. I wanted to know what's that?

      @thespectaclefactory  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TruthTriumphs786 I don't think there is a name for it - it's something that is done custom and you need to tell your optician (or us if you want us to do it) what you have in mind and they should be able to recreate it for you

      @@omokok1877 Yeah, didn't I showcase a rose in this video?? I agree Maui Rose is the best, and could be replicated with Zeiss but you would lose the polarisation

    You did not test the Green lenses in the same way. You did not move it back and forth like the others to get a clear idea of the difference.
